Happy Friday friends! I have some FUN favorites for you today! I’ve started my Christmas shopping. Have you? I promised myself last year I would have all of our extended family/friend gifts bought, wrapped and delivered by Thanksgiving and I’m determined to pull it off! Then I can focus on finishing gifts for my husband and kids through December. I’d like to have all of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving, but I’m learning how to set practical, obtainable goals. Or trying to anyway. :)
I’ve been doing a lot of my shopping on-line and like I mentioned in Monday’s fashion post, Nordstrom is a go to for me. Free shipping and returns is huge! So convenient. Plus you all know how much I love their Home Decor department.
So does my dad.

Today was our three year anniversary in our new house. Exactly three years ago we moved in. For those of you who have been with me for a while, can you believe it has been three years? I can’t. Time just flies, doesn’t it? I was thinking today about what an adjustment those first few months were for us (especially for the kids). I wrote a bit about it during our move here. It’s strange to think about that now. Three years has flown by, but in some ways it feels like we’ve lived in this house our whole lives. It’s definitely home now.
Last year during October (to celebrate two years) I wrote several posts about building our house. I thought I’d include links to them on the blog today in case any of you missed them the first time or are interested in them now.
Also just because I like celebrating special days. In one way or another. :)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope it’s a happy Monday for you. We have had cool, cloudy weather the last few days and I’m loving it! Although it makes me want to stay inside with my sweats and candle on and lounge all day. (Sums up our Sunday!) I don’t know how productive I’d be if we had weather like this all the time. ;) But I’m so happy Fall has come to San Diego! I’m excited to be sharing some of my recent favorite clothes for this beloved season with you today! Fall fashion is the best, isn’t it!? And Fall fashion with Nordstrom? Even better. I’ve partnered with Nordstrom on some really fun posts for this Fall and I’m thrilled about it! LOVE Nordstrom. They carry such a huge variety of brands and styles and have amazing customer service. Plus they just make on-line shopping so easy. My husband would probably like to argue that they make on-line shopping TOO easy. ;) But seriously – life is busy for all of us and I find that as much as I love a good walk through my local mall, I just don’t have the time to do that very much anymore. With free shipping and free and easy returns at Nordstrom they have become my go to!

Happy Sunday friends! Just popping in to let you all know this is the last day to get my favorite Fall cleaning supplies for FREE! I love Grove and especially love these Fall scents! I have the Apple Cider hand soap in my powder bathroom right now (I’ll try to get a pic up of it on Instagram soon) and aside from coordinating with my Fall decor –which is super important ;) – the hand soap makes my bathroom smell so good every time my kids wash their hands! I smell and smile every time I walk in that bathroom.
Which I assure you isn’t the norm. :)

Happy Friday friends! Today’s favorites post is a little different because instead of sharing lots of favorite things with you, I’m sharing ONE favorite thing with you. But it’s one of my all time favorite things when it comes to home decor. So in some ways.. that counts as lots of favorites, right? :)

These Hyannis Lanterns from PB have become staples at my house! I bought them soon after we moved into our new house three years ago and I thought it might be fun to show you the different ways I’ve used them.

Happy Wednesday friends! It’s cool and cloudy here today and this morning I wore my first scarf of the season. (This one and I LOVE it and will share a pic of it soon!) Oh happy day. Finally enjoying some Fall weather! I’m also in a good mood because I have a couple of hours blocked out tomorrow morning to plan and clean my office. It’s such a disaster right now! A lot worse than it looks in this picture of my kids doing homework the other night. Getting on top of our paperwork is one of my favorite things to do because I feel like it helps clear out my mind! When my office is a cluttered mess so is my head. Speaking of my cluttered head, I’m also due for a good “brain dump.” Anyone else? I have so much I want to do in the next few weeks and I need to get organized and prioritize if I’m going to make it all happen!

Fall. Isn’t it such a fun time of year!? I love living in San Diego, but we don’t get a lot of Fall outside.. unfortunately our Palm Trees stay in tact. :) Because of this, I’ve always tried to bring Fall inside our home as much as possible. Of course with Fall decor – lots of pumpkins and throws and all things warm and cozy. But also the smells! Something baking in the oven (admittedly Fall is the only time of year I enjoy baking) or a Fall scented candle burning. Coming home to a clean house that smells like Fall is one of my all time favorite things!
So when Grove came out with new Fall scented cleaning supplies you know I was all over it! And I’m so excited to share how you can get them for FREE! I’m a huge fan of Grove Collaborative. If you haven’t heard of Grove they are a company that sells all natural eco friendly cleaning supplies and other products. I love their products. I love their customer service (honestly the best customer service you’ll find). And I especially love that they deliver exactly what I want/need right to my door. BEST THING EVER.

It’s still Friday (barely!) on the west coast. Cutting it close with my Friday Favs. :) How is everyone doing? I’m good! Thanks for asking. ;) Feeling especially happy tonight that I made it through this week. My husband has been in New York all week for work (traveling back this very minute.. YEA) so I’ve been flying solo around here and I made an interesting discovery.
My 3 kids are a lot of work.
:) Seriously though. They are. I love them. And they’re worth it. Most of the time. ;) But wow. There was a lot going on this week and I felt pulled in so many different directions. As my girls are getting older the evenings have become nothing short of crazy. (Those of you with older kids.. why didn’t you warn me!?) Not having back up to pick up El at her late dance classes or help Ad with homework while I get Kole showered and do reading with him and make dinner.. I felt it! I was seriously out numbered this week and missed my husband immensely.
I think he missed us too. :) He has such small pockets of time to call me in-between meetings and dinner with clients, etc on these trips. Most of the time I wasn’t able to talk to him because I was in a meeting or busy with the kids so we send each other a lot of text messages throughout the day. And bitmojis. Because we live with two pre-teens so we’re nerdy like that. Can’t wait to see him!
Ok.. on to a few of my recent favorite things! Lots to love right now.

Happy October friends! I can’t believe it’s finally here! Best time of the year. The kids and I were absolutely giddy this morning talking about the next three months. So much to enjoy and it goes by so quickly! We’re going to have to get strategic around here. And gear up for pumpkin spice everything. :) But first I’m kicking off the month with our Happy Halloween porch!

Sharing a few pictures with you from my Better Homes and Gardens Photo Shoot (behind the scenes!). Almost a year ago I got a call from Karen who works for Meredith Publishing. She had stumbled on pictures of my home on-line and said she works with several magazines who might be interested in featuring some of my spaces.. especially my upstairs laundry room. She wanted to come and see the laundry room and “scout my house” – just check things out. I was so excited and of course I cleaned like a mad woman for a week before she came because I knew she would not only be looking at my house, but also inside drawers and cupboards. Yikes! She came and we got along famously and she took lots of pictures and then I didn’t hear much until a few months ago when she e-mailed to tell me that Better Homes and Gardens wanted to feature my kitchen and all of its organization in one of their Storage issues. My kitchen!? If anything I was expecting the laundry room. I was so surprised! And shocked. And thrilled. And stressed. And elated. And tired.
Because I wear myself out when I feel so many emotions at once. ;)
