Organized Medicine Cupboard

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you all had a nice 4th!  We are back from Utah and had such a fun trip (hoping to share a few pics soon).  I’m slowly trying to re-engage and get on top of things around my house.  Lots of laundry and food prep and cleaning!  It always takes me a few days after a family trip to recover.  Sometimes I feel like I need a vacation to recover from our vacation!  That’s why I call travel with kids “family trips” and not vacations.  While they are fun, you often come home more tired than you were before you left.  :) Continue reading “Organized Medicine Cupboard”

Mom’s new outdoor decor

mom-and-dad
I hope you’re all enjoying your summer so far!  We are having a fantastic week at our #1 getaway.  A place where food is bought and cooked for me, babysitting is readily available, my kids are forever content and everything in sight is a walk down memory lane.  Mom’s house.  Ahhh.  Love it here!  Isn’t my parent’s home beautiful!?  It’s just as cozy and welcoming on the inside as it is the outside.  We spend a week here every summer and aside from the dreadful heat (San Diego weather has spoiled us!) we love everything about our time here.  Yesterday my parents celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.  41 years! Fun 4th of July ideas!

pretzel-hugs-for-the-4th-of-july
It’s the 4th of July this weekend!  So excited.  We have fun plans with family and I can’t wait to be together with everyone!  I made some 4th of July Pretzel Hugs a couple of weeks ago to get us in the mood.  Same Pretzel Hugs I’ve made for Christmas and Valentines Day for years.  I just switch out the m&m color.  Now there’s a versatile holiday treat!  :)  **Picture sources: scale is from Nordstroms – I can’t find it there anymore but their other home decor is adorable! Rolling pin is from Anthropologie, cake stand is from World Market – looks like they only have ivory left (kind of want this marble/wood stand too!). Continue reading “Fun 4th of July ideas!”

Girls’ bathroom decor

Hello friends!  Sorry about the crickets chirping on the blog last week!  Things were a bit crazy around here finishing up the school year but I’m happy to report we made it!  Today was our first official day of summer and it was WONDERFUL.  We slept in until 7:45, didn’t get out of pajamas until around 11:00, played at the park, swam in the pool, take out for dinner.  I loved every minute of it.  I am being really selfish this week and keeping my kids all to myself.  No playdates or get togethers.  We love them, but there is plenty of time for that and more than anything I have been craving some time with just me and my three kiddos.  We have a lot of fun together when we don’t have to be anywhere doing anything other than what we want.  Imagine that.  :)

Anyway!  Lots of time for future summer ramblings!  This post is supposed to be about a touch of decor I added to my girls’ bathroom so I guess it’s time I steer back on track.  So here you have it.  A touch of decor I added to my girls’ bathroom.  See.  I can stick to the point.  :)

Final countdown!

Happy Thursday everyone!  Week is almost over and we will be down to just one more week of school left!  I’m so excited I can hardly stand it.  We are limping across the finish line around here.  I have so many fun things to share and haven’t had much time for posting lately so here are a few pics I snapped with my phone quick (some I’ve shared on Instagram).   My roses are blooming!  So fun seeing everything we planted last year popping up and looking so pretty.

Weekend Organizing

organize camera equipment
Are you organizing something this weekend?  Maybe?  Still thinking about it?  In your pajamas?  ;)  Sharing a few past organizing projects to get us all motivated!  Just spending 15-20 minutes on a space can make a huge difference.  Is your camera equipment all in one place?  I’ve loved having everything I need to take pictures all together in this pull out drawer in my office.  Makes it so easy to find what I need when I need it!  The only thing we don’t keep in this drawer is the video camera.  I like to keep it in the kitchen so we can grab it often to spontaneously film the kids doing every day things.

5 tips to manage your time better (Eat That Frog!)

Thank you so much for all of your sweet words about my Spring Home Tour!  They meant a lot to me.  I truly feel grateful every day that I have such kind, encouraging people reading my blog.  It’s a huge part of the reason I love doing this!  You all continually make my day.  :)
5-tips-to-manage-your-time-better
I’m switching gears a bit and talking time management today!  It’s honestly one of my favorite topics.  One of the best ways we can feel organized and on top of our lives is to make the most of our time.  I have to admit, that while time management is a topic that I love to learn about, I’m not always the best at managing my time.  In fact, it’s something I’ve really struggled with in the past. When you are a stay at home mom/dad it’s difficult to feel like you are getting anything done at all.  Sure I’m working hard and I’m busy.  I constantly feel busy.  But that doesn’t mean I’m always busy with the things I should be busy with.  :)  I’m spending quality time with my kids each day and making sure they are thriving in their little lives – a top priority for any good parent – but there are other things I want to get done each day and precious little time to do it!  Making each free minute count is crucial.
