Washable Rugs (Sunny Side Up)

{moroccan diamond washable rug}

Happy Thursday! How is it already Thursday!? This week has flown by. I’ve been organizing a lot lately and when I get in a groove with organizing I tend to lose track of days and time altogether. What kids? You’re hungry? You need to be where? You need help with what? Whatever it is it can’t possible be as important as going through this sock drawer. I just know I’m not wearing half of these..

More on my organizing adventures soon. :) For today I’m popping in to share this beautiful new rug I got from Walmart for my girls’ bathroom! You might remember not long ago I shared some smaller navy rugs I bought for this space. They were so cute! And my girls hated them. Ha. Honestly I can’t say that I blamed them. The rugs had nothing holding them down and even later when I added rug pads they slipped off the pads and swirled around everywhere. Then some make-up spilled on one of the rugs and wouldn’t come out. One day I walked upstairs and there were the cute navy rugs.. sitting in the hallway. Apparently my girls were done with them regardless of how cute they were!

Washable Rugs (Sunny Side Up)

It was time for a new rug and I was very selective picking one this time around! I knew I wanted a dark blue runner and it had to have more of a secure backing (I didn’t want  to mess with rug pads in this bathroom again). This rug could not be more perfect and we are in love! Aside from the cute print it’s machine washable! I can toss it in my washing machine and it will always look as good as new.

Washable Rugs (Sunny Side Up)

It has a soft, nonslip backing and I love the deep blue and fun pattern. It comes in lots of sizes and I was bummed the biggest is 7’6 by 9’6. I need a larger rug for my outdoor area and this is exactly what I want in that space too! My girls are also thrilled with their new rug and we will never go back to small rugs that you can’t wash and that don’t stay in place in this bathroom again.

The end.

Washable Rugs (Sunny Side Up)

Almost. :) I was thinking this would be a fun print for summer in my mudroom so I tried it out in this space too. So cute! Perfect for the kitchen too since that’s the place most of the spills happen.

Washable Rugs (Sunny Side Up)

Walmart has an entire line of beautiful WASHABLE rugs! So many fun prints in various sizes. I rounded up my favorites below. I’m very tempted to pick up another one.. or two! Affordable, stylish, washable rugs?

Almost as exciting as my organized sock drawer.

Almost.

;)

2021 Holiday Planner & Favorite Christmas Decor!

AHHHH!  Is it really time for my annual October Christmas post!? If you’re new here don’t worry! We’ll be back to all things pumpkins soon! Not rushing Fall around here.. we are enjoying every minute of it. But if you know me you know there are two things I love about as much as life itself.  ORGANIZATION and CHRISTMAS DECOR! (I seriously feel giddy just typing those words.) So it’s no surprise that this post is one of my favorites! For years I’ve written an annual October blog post sharing little things I was doing early to get a jump start on the holiday season so that December didn’t feel so stressful. Finally a few years ago I created my Holiday Planner that includes all of that info. along with other planning printables! It has been a HUGE help to me during the holiday season and I hope that it’s helpful to you too! Just doing a few small things ahead of time makes all the difference when it comes to holiday stress. I love having a place to keep all of my holiday ideas/details/plans!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

My planner includes printables to help with gift giving, party planning, meal planning, shopping and decor planning, calendar pages (vertical and horizontal), cute to-do lists and more!  Use them all or pick and choose a few pages.. whatever is helpful!

This holiday planner is a gift from me to you again this season!  Completely free for you to download and use when you sign up for my blog e-mail list HERE.

(If you are already a Sunny Side Up subscriber just enter your info. again to get the calendar.. it won’t add you twice!  Also, if you sign up and don’t get an e-mail soon after, check your junk mail!  Once in a while it lands there first.)

Now that holiday organization is taken care of.. let’s talk Christmas decor! Favorite items sell out fast and shipping delays are definitely a concern this year. I’m going to try to share decor/gift ideas a little early this year because of this. So many items are already backordered so don’t wait if you want something! I tried to order some holiday bedding last night for this year and it said it would arrive in January! Ha. I think I’ll pass and find something else thank you very much. :) Many of my tried and true Christmas decor favorites are back in stock but won’t last long! I’ve rounded up a few personal favorites along with collages of other cute items I’m seeing and loving so far this year. Let me know what’s on your wishlist!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{faux cedar garland/eucalyptus garland/brass candle holders/hanging bells/white ceramic vase/dough bowl}

First up.. my two favorite garlands are finally back in stock! (faux cedar garlandeucalyptus garland)  I use them all over my home this time of year. They are so realistic!  Amazing quality and they look beautiful combined together or on their own.  I promise you they won’t last long! They sell out so quickly every year.

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

The faux cedar garland is thin so I layered a few together with the Eucalyptus garland for this look. (I used 5-6 but this mantel is huge. I would recommend 3 for a regular sized mantel – 2 faux cedar garlands with 1 eucalyptus). Bells are always a fun addition with garland too and I’ve included favorites below!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{similar plaid pillow/cable knit pillow/similar knit stockings}

Another fun mantel look with my faux cedar garland! My matching faux cedar wreath is back in stock too!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{faux potted cypress tree/faux cedar garland/faux cedar wreath/similar striped rug}

My favorite faux porch trees are also back in stock! LOVE these trees. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing them on my porch. If I do I’ll bring them inside to use! Have I mentioned before that my favorite color is green? ;)

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

1-  eucalyptus mix garland  2- cedar pine garland  3- cedar garland   4- swag

5- eucalyptus garland   6- arborvitae garland   7- swag   8- hemlock pine garland

These are some beautiful and realistic garlands at different price points. I also found two swags that would be beautiful for Fall or Christmas decorating!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

1-  brass bells   2- gold metal rustic windchime  3- rustic cow bells

4- hanging bells   5- golden bells door hanger   6- rustic bell   7- gold jingle bells

Bring on the bells! I love using bells with my holiday decor! So beautiful at the end of the stairs, on the mantel, on the front door. They are a perfect accent! I have #4 and #5 and want to pick up a few of these other cute options.

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{flocked long needle green pine tree}

Let’s talk trees! If you are looking for a beautiful flocked tree I can’t recommend this tree enough. I bought it for my bedroom last year and am absolutely in love! It’s just stunning in person!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{Pink Master Bedroom Christmas Decor}

This is a pic of it decorated. All things pink in my bedroom last year!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

1- balsam flocked green pine tree   2- spruce tree

3- green fir tree   4- fir tree   5- flocked pine tree   6- faux fir tree

My bedroom tree is #5. I also have and love tree #1! I had it in my dining room last year and never got around to sharing it! Another beautiful flocked option. ANNND I bought another tree this year. This Norway 9 foot faux spruce tree from Mcgee and Co and if it looks anything like the picture of it I’ll be in tree heaven! I’ve been looking for a new tree for my family room for a couple of years and LOVE the look of this faux spruce. It’s a little wider than the tree I’ve been using so I’m crossing my fingers it works. If not I have a few other spots I can put it, but I really want it to work in my family room because that’s the room we are in the most. I rounded up a few other trees that look beautiful and so fun to decorate! Seriously can’t wait.  How many trees are too many trees? #nevertoomany

Kenny doesn’t exactly agree with me on this one. Good thing I’m always right. ;)

Remember my snowy village Christmas window? I can’t wait to set this up again.. it was the coziest! My pre-lit birch trees are back in stock! These are the medium and small size. I can’t find these exact houses on-line but I rounded up some beautiful white winter village options below.

Aren’t they all adorable!? So cute on any Christmas tree!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

{similar faux fur tree skirt}

2020 family room tree! I never did get a star for the top of it. Which felt very 2020ish so I just rolled with it. Ha. ;)

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

My glitter star ornaments are back in stock this year and I’m planning on using them again. They are so beautiful! I also love these gold mercury glass ornaments.  I kind of want to just re-create this tree.. maybe a few small changes. :)

5- faux cypress wreath   6- snowflake cutout ornaments    7- star ornaments

 2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

Last year I bought this beautiful velvet sherpa tree pillow for my bedroom and it sold out so quickly. I heard from many of you who loved it too so I’m thrilled they brought it back this year! I’ll have it in my bedroom again along with this fun Christmas Lane print.  An easy, inexpensive way to update a space for the holidays/winter!

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

1- rug   2- juniper branch   3- sleigh bell towels   4- gold star ornament

5- knit stockings   6- red berry pine wreath    7- juniper & berry bundle

8- flameless candles  9- snowy pine trees  10- plaid pillow covers

11- mercury glass ornaments

My love for PB Christmas decor runs deep (as you all know) and these are a few favorites popping up on-line! This collage makes me want to pull out my trees and plaid pillows STAT! Can’t you just hear it? “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire..”  I seriously wish December was 4 months long.

2021 Holiday Planner (Sunny Side Up)

1- holiday tree mat   2- fa la la mat   3- stag doormat

4- happy holidays mat  5- merry and bright doormat   6- mistletoe doormat

Ok.. last Christmas decor collage! For today. ;) I couldn’t pick just one of these doormats to share.  I also couldn’t pick just one of these doormats to order! I need more doors. That’s the only solution that makes sense.

Alright.. I better wrap this baby up! I could talk Christmas decor ALL DAY LONG but it’s getting late and there is a lot here to digest. :) I need to contain my excitement and head back to the pumpkin patch.

But good things are coming.

Chestnuts are roasting.. and good things are coming.

Green and White Fall Porch

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

October – officially pumpkin washing time! :)  Kole and I carried out our annual tradition of spraying off the pumpkins and cleaning the front porch and decorating it for Fall last week.  It’s so funny to me that this even became a tradition!  For anyone new here this all started when Kole was little.  We bought some pumpkins at the grocery store one October years ago and they were dusty.  I set them outside when we got home and told him to spray them off in an effort to keep him busy while I unloaded the car.  He had so much fun cleaning the pumpkins (he has always loved spraying the hose and anything to do with water!) and asked if he could do it again the next year.

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

And so it began. :)  We always look forward to this and have now added on a fun mom/son activity together after the pumpkin/porch washing.  This year we played tennis and had lunch.  Traditions that just naturally form are always the best traditions.. aren’t they!?  I love letting my kids take the lead.  It’s so fun seeing what things they want to repeat every year during the holidays.  We went to Starbucks and all got pink drinks and hot chocolate one year before our Christmas Eve drive to look at lights in pjs and now of course we can’t have a Christmas Eve without a Starbucks run!  I love the holidays. :)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I had Kole move the pumpkins out into the sun to dry and this straight line me smile.  He is just like his mom with a touch of that OCD/perfectionist side.  He is hands down my tidiest child.  I like the pumpkins in that perfectly straight line too buddy.  Peace and calm in order.  I get it. :)

You might notice that my pumpkins are all green!  I didn’t really plan on a green pumpkin porch but when I went to the store the green pumpkins were just sort of calling my name.  Before I knew it I had a cart full of green pumpkins and thought.. hmm. wonder what direction I think I’m going with these?  Ha.

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

So here she is!  My unintentional green and white Fall porch!  I kind of love it.  But I love everything green so no surprise there. :)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

{faux weeping eucalyptus trees/metal black lanterns/hand woven jute rug/scattered tan rug/black planters}

The real stars are my beautiful faux weeping eucalyptus trees.  Gah!  Could not love them more. They fill in the sides of my porch so nicely, I love the pots they come in and I mentioned before they are so realistic!  Very nice quality.  I’m beyond thrilled that I don’t have to maintain them!

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I added two smaller real plants (they are white azaleas and just haven’t quite bloomed yet!) and then I bought these black pots for them. (The pots aren’t pictured.. I bought them the day after I took these pics but thought I’d share in case you need good, basic black pots.)  I love using small stools to add a little height to my pumpkins. :)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I added my long time favorite black metal lanterns and am going to add some candles with a timer inside so that they light up at night. I need to find some that are larger than this set I already have (on the to-do list!).

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

For my porch rug I layered this beautiful hand woven jute rug (in a 4×6) with this fun scattered tan rug.  Love them both!  Such a cozy look for Fall.  My plan is to keep the jute rug out for Spring and Summer too.  I can use it along with my faux trees all year long and just switch out the mat and a few things on the sides for each new season.  Brilliant!  Why didn’t I think of that years ago!?  I guess I had to live through the dying (and bird nesting) of multiple real trees to finally see the light. Ha.

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I love the different shades of green and the various texture in these pumpkins!

Kind of fun to mix things up this year!  I hope you like it too!  I know green pumpkins aren’t for everyone but they definitely make my day when I pull into the house.  I’m thinking I’ll add some fun bats going across the door when it gets closer to Halloween.  Kole is a fan of the bats in October. :)

Green and White Fall Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I’m lucky to have such a good helper this time of year.

Growing so fast but he’ll always be my littlest pumpkin in the patch. :)

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Friday! I’ve got a fun post of total randomness for you today. Kicking off with a little party we had in my backyard last week! It was for our church and I can’t take credit for any of the cute decorations.  I was just the hostess who provided a location.. always so happy to play that role. :)

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{“Now Showing” banner and stars}

We were spotlighting different women in our church (kind of a get to know you activity) and I thought the movie theme was so fun! We hung these cute filmstrip frames and with pictures and a little write up about each person in each.

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I thought I’d share this because I was thinking of how fun this movie theme would be for a child’s birthday party.  You could fill these filmstrip frames with pictures of the birthday boy/girl.  So cute right!?

Such a fun night!

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

When we were cleaning up a friend who brought decorations had these fun InstaCrates to carry supplies/decor.  They fold up so easily for storage..

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

and then pop open to hold anything and everything! I don’t know how I’ve never seen these before. GENIUS!  I ordered two immediately!  I’m going to put them in my car so that my groceries don’t roll around in the back but I know I’ll use them for all sorts of things.  One of my September Amazon buys!

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I also picked up these fun black candle holders and battery operated flameless candles.  These just arrived today so I’ll report back with how well they work.  I was thinking they would be fun to switch out with my gold candles for Halloween week!  About as spooky as we get around here. :)

Below are all of our September Amazon purchases.  More of my favorite faux olive branches, favorite acne patches, Kole’s favorite masks (his school requires them and these are so soft), two cute rug options (I’ll share more on them soon!), new pillows for the kids (trying these best sellers), some silicone mats for Fall baking, crates and a tripod stand to assist with my IG reel making attempts. Ha.

What did we ever do without Amazon?  Have more in savings and less faux olive branches I guess. ;)

{wood serving board light wash/wood serving board dark wash/large reclaimed wood vase/ olive branch stems/smaller reclaimed wood vase/spectrum pitcher}

Featuring ta-da!  My olive branches!  So beautiful for Fall.  (They are so much shorter than this tall vase but because they are bushy at the top they sit in it nicely!)  I think they will work well for Christmas decor too.  You all know my love of serving boards.  I use them often to display seasonal items and I’m really liking this look of various wooden vases.  Isn’t that pitcher in the front adorable!?  A newish Anthro find.  I keep moving it around.  It’s one of those items (like my olive branches) that looks good everywhere.   September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

1-wood serving board  2- dark brown serving board   3- plaid throw

4- tan glass gourd   5- black pumpkin   6- clear glass pumpkin  7- indoor/outdoor plaid rug

My serving board now comes in a darker wash!  These are a few RP items I love that were recently released.  I’ve had the plaid throw for a few years and it’s beautiful!

September Amazon Buys/Fall Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

You can see it sitting in my basket in this picture. :)  I have a similar plaid throw from Target too (linked here).. it’s a little thinner and not as fuzzy but still so cute for Fall!

1-solid washable rug   2- diamond stone rug   3- textured striped area rug

4- herringbone seagrass runner   5- textured rug brown   6- woven runner rug

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

Happy pumpkin season!  Nothing like walking into this scene at the grocery store. :)  I hope your Fall is off to a fabulous start!

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{weeping eucalyptus tree & pots/fall by the lake art/arched metal framed floor mirror}

My front porch is decorated and I’m excited to share it soon (I’m so behind on posting!).  The main reason I’m obsessed with my Fall porch this year is because of these beautiful faux trees!  Every season I buy real trees for my front porch and every season they die.  Or birds move in and make a mess of my porch.  Ha. ;)  To be honest I’m tired of spending so much money on trees that never last long because my porch doesn’t get any sunlight.  I spent some time researching faux trees that would look good all year and could not be happier with the winner.  These weeping eucalyptus trees are so beautiful and realistic!  I also love the pots that come with them.  As soon as they arrived I could think of so many places I wanted to put them inside too!  But they are perfect for the porch.  Cute for fall?  Check.  Cute for spring?  Check.  Cute for summer?  Check. Porch pics coming soon!

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{oatmeal sweater/AG jeans/Fall bootie options}

Today I’m sharing a few fun tops/sweaters I’ve been wearing and loving.  We’ve had mostly warm weather lately, but one or two days a week things cool off and we get a taste of Fall.  You better believe I’m wearing a sweater the second I get a chance!  The sleeves on this oatmeal sweater are perfection.  Plus it’s so soft and cozy!

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{Fall days graphic tee/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/Fall bootie options}

This Fall days ahead graphic tee is another favorite.  It’s cute on its own for warmer days but I bought it mostly for layering!  So cute under a jacket.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{similar open front cardigan/Fall days graphic tee/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/Fall bootie options}

It’s also perfect to wear under a cream cardigan.

Or a green one.  Love it!  Here are a few other Pink Lily graphic tees.. they have really cute things in for Fall!

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{camel textured sweater/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/Fall bootie options}

This is one more recent favorite Pink Lily sweater. I love the texture.  And the sleeves.  And the color!

Just take me to the pumpkin patch already. :)

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{camel textured sweater/initial pendant necklace}

I was wearing it in these pics my friend took.  I made a nice attempt to make a Fall arrangement the other day.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{Fall kitchen sources}

For the record I am NOT good at flower arranging.  You’ve probably noticed by now that most of the flowers in my home are faux and when I do buy real flowers I stick with all the same flower.  On a creative whim I decided to buy random flower bundles at the grocery store.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{round wood serving tray/brass candle holders/similar gourd}

Not amazing but hey!  It feels Fallish and I had so much fun playing around with flowers. My friend filmed me so that I could put tother a little IG reel which for the record.. is another thing I’m NOT good at.  I hate all things video!  You know what I am good at though?  Pretending.  I was a master of make believe when I was a little girl and the skill stuck.

What else can I pretend I know how to do?  You’ll have to tune in next week to find out.

I know you’re at the edge of your seat.  Ha.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{flannel work shirt/jean options for over the knee boots/over the knee boots}

A few more cute favorites!  If you want a new Fall top or two but don’t want to spend much I found some darling options on-line at Walmart!  Love this flannel.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{cozy yarn sweater/initial pendant necklace/jean options for over the knee boots/over the knee boots}

A soft, lightweight green sweater is always a winner.  And these boots!  I’m not kidding..  so comfortable!  They come in lots of colors too.  So far I’ve worn them more than my other over the knee boots that cost 3 times as much!  They aren’t tight on my calves and tie in the back.. really cute with skirts too.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

Photo courtesy of Ellie.. my girls are becoming good little photographers!  I needed a pic for IG and had just made banana bread muffins. Kenny came home from a run and happened to be in his orange tank so I had him jump in the picture.  “Happy Fall!”

What you can’t see in this pic is the huge mess all over my kitchen islands from making the muffins and how sweaty Kenny was from running (I had him stand behind me for a reason!).  Good at pretending, remember? ;)

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{stripe puff sleeve top/initial pendant necklace/jean options for over the knee boots/over the knee boots}

A few more simple, cute Fall tops.  Green.. check!  Stripes.. check!

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{puff sleeve tee/initial pendant necklace/jean options for over the knee boots/over the knee boots}

Such a great basic black tee with a little extra in the sleeves!  This top has been on repeat.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

This black dress is another cute option.

Fashion and Flowers (Sunny Side Up)

{crewneck swingdress/initial pendant necklace/over the knee boots}

It’s not fitted or tight at all.. just comes in slightly at the ribcage.  It would be flattering on any body type and comes in other colors too!

I’m not usually a dress person, but if there is one time of year I want to wear dresses more often it’s Fall.  I love the colors and prints on Fall dresses.  Plus they all look so cute with boots!

Fall is also the only time of year that cooking is appealing.  It’s a magic season for me. :)  Anyone else?

Fall in the Family Room

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{sectional/wool jute rug/rattan-wrapped stool/coffee table/faux fig tree/large dough bowl}

I hope you’re all having a good week!  We’re enjoying some lovely 80 degree weather on the coast at the moment but have no fear!  It feels like 60 degrees in my family room.  You just have to smell the pumpkin spice candle, crank the air, close your eyes and .. pretend. Fall in southern Cal!  I am well trained. :)

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{chunky woven throw/woven stripe pillow/hand knit pillow covers here & here/counter stools}

I found so many cute and cozy pillows and throws for a great price this year and couldn’t resist picking up a few new additions! I especially love the texture of this throw. It looks so cute hanging off the back of my couch!  I always feel drawn to neutrals this time of year and especially shades of brown.

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{linen frayed edge pillow/windowpane pillow/pumpkin lumbar pillow}

We have been lounging on these pillows every night for a couple of weeks now and they definitely pass the comfort test.  Perfect for a Sunday afternoon football nap!  I’m normally not much of a napper, but something about the soothing sounds of football crowds..

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{brass lanterns/flameless candles/arched mantel mirror/seagrass basket}

I kept my mantel simple. The brass lanterns and candles have been up all year!  I bought them last year thinking I would just use them during the holidays, but the candlelight every night from my flameless candles (they are set on a timer!) is so cozy that I just kept them up during the summer months too.

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{pampas grass/white Santorini urn/oval metal tray/tourmaline framed canvas/gold lamp (set with floor lamp)/similar console table/similar console baskets}

I shared this littles set up in a previous post.  Happy to say that the pampas grass shedding has stopped!  The stems really do make a beautiful statement in person.

Kind of funny.. I never really planned for this room to turn out so.. carmel!  Clearly I am drawn to this shade of brown. :)

Fall Family Room Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{coffee table/white lined pot/olive branches here & here/made for living/homebody/Patina Farm/Simplicity/brass round gold tray  (similar option)/wood chain link/anthro candle}

My new coffee table feels very at home here.  I had fun styling it!  Even though Kenny and the kids move and stack everything around in the evening because we use this table so much.  I’m not always the best at making my bed each morning but I do always straighten the couch pillows and now.. I straighten my coffee table decor too.  It makes me happy.

Fall in the kitchen!

*affiliate links used

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{kitchen rugs/similar pendants}

It might not officially be Fall until Wednesday the 22nd (mid November for San Diego), but Fall has arrived in my home and I’m not one bit mad about it! I love adding a few Fall touches to my kitchen every September. Fall decor is so just warm and inviting isn’t it!? I always keep it simple in this space because (like in most homes) our kitchen gets trashed and then cleaned multiple times a day and too much decor combined with every day family clutter is just.. too much! But it doesn’t take a lot to welcome this beloved season. I started by adding some new inexpensive neutral rugs. I’m always drawn to neutrals for Fall!

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{woven tray/similar tray/similar crock/anthro candle/oil & vinegar set}

I love to add items with lots of texture to up the cozy factor and rattan is a favorite go-to of mine! I just set some of my often used kitchen items and a pretty candle on a rattan tray and my kitchen instantly felt warmer.

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{similar rectangle board/round board/gold mirror/similar wreath here & here & here/brass candle holders/ivory candles/pumpkins are real.. similar faux mini white pumpkins here & here}

I was a little torn on what to put on the shelf over my cooktop this year (I added garland and pumpkins last year!) and ended up just adding a simple wheat wreath over my mirror with my beloved candle holders on each side. Mini white pumpkins had to make an appearance too of course. It’s just not Fall in my kitchen without them. :)

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{similar art here/here/here/here}

Adding vintage (or vintage looking) art to a more modern space has been trending for a while now. Something about that mix of old with new is so fun isn’t it? I’ve wanted to add some art to my kitchen for a while but just couldn’t find anything that really spoke to me until I came across this rooftop painting at a boutique in my hometown last time we were visiting. It was love at first sight because the rooftops reminded me so much of a favorite trip Kenny and I took years ago to Italy.  Also… GREEN! So many shades of my favorite color. I knew we were meant to be together the second I saw it. :) I don’t have a link for this exact canvas but I linked a few fun similar looking options. Flea markets, antique stores and etsy are fun places to find art like this too! You really don’t have to spend a lot.

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{olive branches here & here/navy rugs}

This is a picture from my kitchen decor last year.. sharing it because I didn’t get a pic snapped of this whole window and I kept it close to the same! Favorite faux olive branches in a crock next to candles on the left and then pampas grass in a vase on the right. The pampas grass I used last year was real.

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{dish towel/similar round rattan tray/artisian vase/faux pampas grass/similar pampas grass option}

This year I used faux pampas grass and I LOVE it! Unlike the pampas grass I shared in my last post this grass doesn’t shed one bit! It’s so realistic looking and I love how tall it is (easy to bend the branches to adjust the height for your vase!). The color is so beautiful too.. instant Fall!

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{antiqued metal decorative tray/smoked glass vase/vintage wooden tray – several options here}

I’m still playing around with my cabinet shelves but love my long metal tray below it. One of my favorite accessories for holiday decorating! Right now I just placed a pretty vase (works great with my green painting!) and a wooden tray on it. I might add some Fall flowers to the vase at some point.

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{round wood serving tray/white terracotta jar/brass candle holders/similar gourd}

My white terracotta jars are back in stock! They are perfect to hold faux eucalyptus branches (or any branches/flowers really!). I picked up this wood serving tray at the Nordstrom sale and couldn’t love it more. It’s hard to tell in this pic but it’s huge! Fun for a little Fall moment on my island. :)

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

My fun fall dish towels are from Anthro a few years back.. they always have so many cute options! I’ll link a few favorites out new this year at the bottom of this post with sources!

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{platters & boards book/similar gold book stand herehere, & here/round marble & wood serving tray here, here & here}

I brought out a favorite cook book on a gold stand in my kitchen. Platters & Boards is actually more of a “how to style your food and make it look pretty” vs. how to cook it.. totally why it’s a favorite at my house. Ha.

Fall Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

{similar trivet/round wicker tray/white terracotta jar/similar faux pomegranate branches here, here & here/similar velvet pumpkins}

Then I added some faux pomegranate branches to my other white terracotta jar. A few velvet pumpkins never hurt anyone either. :)

Fall Console, Pampas Grass, August Amazon Buys

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a good week!  We ended up traveling over the long weekend and then it felt like everything hit at once when we got back!  I’ve hardly had time to catch my breath.  But next week isn’t quite so crazy and I’m beyond excited to get into a somewhat normal schedule with kids back at school.  When I dropped Kole off on his first day I said “I’ll miss you today!” He answered “I’ll miss you too mom but don’t be sad.. I probably won’t think about that much because I’ll be having so much fun with my friends.”  Ha ha.. best answer.  He did just that and his last year in Elementary school is off to a great start. :)

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{brass lanterns/arched mantel mirror/seagrass basket/pampas grass/white Santorini urn/oval metal tray/tourmaline framed canvas/gold lamp (set with floor lamp)/similar console table/similar console baskets/chunky woven throw/roll arm sectional}

So is my Fall decorating! I’ve had so much fun bringing warm, cozy neutrals into my home.  I’m sharing my family room console table decor today because I’m slightly obsessed with this pampas grass I ordered!

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{pampas grass/white Santorini urn}

Isn’t it stunning!?  It instantly brought so much warmth and texture into this space.  The stems are tall and I ended up ordering more after the first six arrived. (I have around ten stems in this vase.)  I also learned the hard way (trial and error!) what to do with these stems to avoid a mess.  I didn’t read the instructions with the first set I ordered.  I opened the box, brought them in my house and fluffed them up instantly with my hands.  Some shedding is normal with pampas grass, but I caused A LOT of shedding.  Ha!  So much that I was worried everything would end up in my vacuum by the end of the night.  They stopped shedding after a while and then I read the instructions and realized I could have avoided the mess.  Note to self: read instructions more often.

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I ordered another set because I needed more for my vase and this time instead of opening them inside I opened the box outside.  The initial shedding didn’t seem so bad when it was on the grass!

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Then I set the branches in a vase in the sun and left them outside for a few hours.  They expanded so beautifully!  When I was ready to bring them in I fluffed them out a little more outside and then sprayed some hairspray on them (another tip in the instructions.. so smart.  Did I mention it’s good to read instructions?)

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I brought them in and they’ve hardly shed since!  So if you order them follow my lead.. the second time around. :)  Leave them outside for a few hours before you bring them in.  Your vacuum will thank you!  Other console table decor includes my cute little oval metal tray full of sticks, pinecones and acorns, this beautiful framed canvas, and my gold lamp that’s back in stock!  It comes in a set with my gold floor lamp. LOVE them.

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{hicks pendant/navy rugs/marble and gold tray/faux pumpkins/olive branches/candlesticks/dishcloth/artisan vase/mirror tray/anthro fall candles}

Last year I put real pampas grass in my kitchen window and loved the way it instantly brought Fall into my home!  My kitchen window looks similar this year but I ordered this pampas grass because I wanted something a little taller.  It’s also beautiful and doesn’t shed at all.  I’ll share a pic of it soon!  I also pulled out these go-to olive branches and ordered more this year.  They are so realistic and another beautiful option for Fall decorating.

Faux pampas grass (thesunnysideupblog.com)

1- dried pampas grass   2- white  pampas grass  3- faux taupe stem

4- beige blush pampas grass   5- large pampas branches

6- sunshine marigolds tall stems

I looked at A LOT of faux pampas grass before I ordered mine and these are my top picks!  The two I ordered were both from Amazon and I’m sharing my other Amazon buys from August below (better late than never!).

August Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

One of my favorite Amazon buys last month were these clear chair covers for my barstools!  I’ve struggled to find something to protect my floor from my kids sliding around on our barstools that doesn’t leave a sticky mess.  These have been perfect!  They work so well.  No scratching and they stay put.  They come in different sizes (square too!) and in a variety of colors if you want to match them to your barstools.  I just went with translucent.

I also ordered a new tape measure because the 5 we have seem to disappear!  This one is mine all mine and I keep it in my office.  I got some beautiful gold file holders (also for my office), another travel case charger for times I’m just taking my computer and phone chargers, a drip pad for all of the cooking I plan to do this Fall (always hopeful! ;)) and some OXO scoops to try in the pantry.  I only ordered 10 items this month and usually hit twelve so I included two favorites we use over and over!  My steamer and our power washer.  We love you Amazon. :)

August Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

1- bat die cuts & bat stickers  2- measuring tape   3- 3-piece scoop set

4- file holder  5- clear chair covers   6- olive branches

7- large pampas grass  8- faux pampas grass   9- carrying case charger

10- drip pad  11- high pressure washer  12- steamer

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Signing off with two other Fall console table looks from the past two years!  I love this Fall by the Lake art.. so beautiful!  I have it on my entry table this year.

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{similar faux branches/white vase/dough bowl/mini velvet pumpkins/linen citris print/brass candlesticks/candles/similar console table/similar baskets}

This is how I styled my mantel last year and I still love this look too!  You just can’t go wrong with Fall colors/decor.  It’s all so WARM and inviting.  Such a fun season!  We don’t get to celebrate Fall outside in San Diego so I make sure to bring lots of it inside. :)

Pampas Grass, Fall Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Enjoy your weekend!  More decor is coming soon!  I’ve been decorating up a storm.

Just me, my messy pampas grass, and the air conditioner cranked to the max.

Feels like Fall.

Boy’s Bedroom Re-fresh

*This post is sponsored by Walmart.  All product selections and opinions are my own!

Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)

It’s the official last weekend of summer at our house!  Kole starts school on Wednesday and we’re feeling ready and excited.  6th grade and last year of Elementary school for my youngest!  I can’t believe it.  We took some time this morning to get his room straightened.  After a long summer with lots of friends over it was due!  The final touch after some clean-up and organizing was adding this beautiful new blue bedding!

Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)

{organic cotton blend quilt & shams/textured stripe sheets/asymmetrical stripe square pillow/washed denim throw pillow}

It’s part of Walmart’s new Gap Home collection and I couldn’t love it more!  Kole’s nursery was all done in Gap bedding.. a long time favorite at our house. :)  Aren’t the striped sheets fun!?  Lots of cute throw pillows too.  I love this set for a boys room!  You can see more fun Gap bedding here.  They have so many beautiful options – great quality for such a good price if you are ready for a little bedroom re-fresh!

Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)

We had some fun space themed bedding on his bed, but he’s getting older {sigh} and this feels a little more grown up and age appropriate for him.

Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)

I love the throw pillows in this collection so much I added a few more on his window seat.

I couldn’t resist picking up this beautiful moon phases canvas to add to his collection. :)

In the meantime to get us through the last few days of summer while his sisters are in school I picked up a few arts and crafts I knew he would like.  I’m desperate to keep this child off the iPad all day and this far into summer we are hanging on by a very thin thread!  Ha.  I love having things like this on hand for rainy days, down time and birthday gifts  They always come in handy.  Walmart has so many fun craft options for kids!  My girls especially loved stuff like this.  They would make crafts and jewelry for hours when they were younger!

Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)Boys Bedroom Re-fresh (Sunny Side Up)

Kole doesn’t engage with things like this quite as long as my girls did.  This should keep him entertained for maybe an hour if I’m lucky.. then only 11 hours to go.

Have I mentioned that I haven’t had all 3 of my kids back in school since March 2020?

VERY excited for next Wednesday.

Favorite Fall tops!

*affiliate links used
Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{tie front peasant top/AG jeans/similar peep toe booties/similar tory burch purse}

Happy Sunday!  I hope you’re having a good weekend so far!  I’m working on a fun Fall decorating inspo. post but it’s not quite finished so I’m popping in quick in the meantime to share a few tops I’ve been wearing and loving!  This cute peasant top above has been a favorite go-to this summer that I know I’ll keep wearing for months (still so hot here!) but the rest of the tops in this post are especially great for transitioning into Fall.  It’s that time of year when most of us are over summer clothes and getting excited about Fall, but it’s still too hot to bust out the sweaters!

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{extended shoulder sweater/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/finn chain mules}

This short sleeve extended shoulder sweater is a favorite!  I found it a few months ago at Target and have been living in it.  So casual and cute.  Every time I wear it I get compliments on it.  It just has such a fun casual vibe.  Perfect for early Fall or to layer when it gets cooler.

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{crewneck sweater vest/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/finn chain mules}

This is another cute Target sweater that’s perfect for early Fall.  I love the neck and the sleeves!

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{balloon sleeve blouse/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/similar peep toe booties}

Last Target top.. love this too!  Black is always a Fall staple and this simple balloon sleeve blouse is so lightweight.  Perfect for warm early Fall days.

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{plaid madewell top/initial pendant necklace/AG jeans/similar peep toe booties}

This plaid top is adorable.  I fell hard for the plaid print, but I fell even harder after I tried it on.  It’s just the right length (not too long – not too short) and it’s such a cute, flattering fit.  An absolute Fall staple.  (I love you Madewell!)  It will look so cute layered under a jacket when it cools off too.

Fall Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

I wore it Friday night to the first home High School football game of the year.  It was so fun seeing El and her friends dance at half time again.  I don’t think I realized how much I missed watching her until I saw her on the field again.  So grateful kids are back in school!  I hung out with my little sidekick all night and this blurry pic was the best we got.  Ha.

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{smocked collar top/AG jeans/similar peep toe booties}

I could not love this smocked collar top more!  The color is absolutely stunning (I love jewel tones for Fall!) plus I’m a sucker for anything with puffed sleeves.  The collar is beautiful and I love the fit and material.

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

Absolutely stunning and it also comes in a fun Fall leaf print.

Fall Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

I wore it Saturday to lunch in La Jolla with friends.  The 4 of us are on a mission to test every restaurant in San Diego.  Ha.  We never leave a lunch or dinner without planning the next and my goal is to eventually compile our favorites in a San Diego restaurant post for you all!  In the meantime our “research” is a lot of fun and something we all look forward to. :)

Fall Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

Our friends just got a new puppy and it’s the sweetest little poodle ever!  I had a black poodle just like this growing up and holding this sweet puppy made us want one so badly.  Out of the question for us with Addison’s allergies/asthma so her bearded dragon will have to do for a family pet.

Lucky us. ;)

Fall Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

We definitely had fun cuddling it and dreaming!

Below are six other Anthro tops on my wish list!  Fall clothes are too much fun. :)

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

1- turtleneck tank  2- flutter eyelet top  3- cowl neck sweater

4- sweatshirt  5- puff-sleeved top  6- tie-front top

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up){leather backpack purse/similar hydro flask/Air Force 1 sneaker}

A while ago I shared a backpack I found on Amazon and love.  Addison has been using her so much lately that I thought I’d snap a pic of it in case any of you need something like this with kids going back to school.  (I made her stop for a quick pic on her way out the door last week!)

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

It’s not huge and we don’t use this for her school/books backpack but more as a purse/backpack for after school activities.  She wanted something smaller than her regular backpack but big enough to hold a water bottle, snacks, her theater/music binder, etc.  I have the same backpack in grey (Ad loves blue in case you couldn’t tell) and it comes in lots of other colors too.  It’s such a nice backpack and has come in so handy for both of us!

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

{crossbody bag/smocked cotton dress/adidas superstar sneaker}

This is the crossbody bag I got my girls for Christmas last year that I also highly recommend!  It’s such a great size for your phone, wallet, small essentials.  Both of my girls use theirs every day.  El has black and Ad has blue.. always blue for this girl.  It comes in ALL the colors and makes a great gift too!  Cute to fill it with lipstick or lotion and a Starbucks gift card for a birthday present. :)  This smocked cotton dress Ad is wearing is a newish purchase that is so cute on her.  It’s supposed to be an off the shoulder dress but it’s easily adjustable and can be worn on the shoulders too.  The dress/sneaker combo is so in right now and I wish it would have been when I was in high school!  I’m all for comfortable trends.  Why wear heels when you can wear sneakers?  Genius.  :)

Fashion Friday (Sunny Side Up)

Signing off with a few pretty pics I snapped at Kole’s tennis lesson last week.  The buildings surrounding the tennis courts are absolutely stunning.  I can’t help admiring the architecture every time I’m there!

Fall/life update

Fall decor (Sunny Side Up)

 (We were laughing that El’s hair totally covered her black tank in this pic!
I passed on some crazy thick hair to these two.)

Hello hello!  I’ve missed you all!  The chirping crickets on my blog were’t intentional. :)  Our last week of summer and beginning of a new school year turned out to be a little busier than I expected and this is the first minute I’ve had to sit down at my computer to catch up!  My girls started school yesterday – 10th and 12th grade. I can’t believe it.  I teared up as soon as I saw them in the morning.  They both came down the stairs looking so beautiful and grown up.  I always cry on the first day of school but this year I didn’t even make it to drop off.  Don’t blink moms!  Everyone tells you how quickly it goes by.

Everyone was right.

I came home to my boys (Kenny is still working from home and Kole doesn’t start until September) and being with the two of them cheered me up.  :)

Fall decor (Sunny Side Up)

{similar pink cherry blossom branches/Quin white vase/similar round tray/Abbott table/similar chairs/Arabesque rug}

I also decided to cheer myself up a little by putting away some of my summer decor and pulling out a few things for Fall.  So much fun!  I love Fall decor.  I’ve had this arabesque rug in our dining nook for a while (it used to be in our guest room) but I’m going to try it in Addison’s room.  It has become a rotating rug that might just make a debut in every room in our house.. ha.

Fall decor (Sunny Side Up)

I replaced it with this beautiful Pine Brook rug from Target!  I wanted to bring more browns in for Fall but also keep some of my blues so this will be perfect.  I snapped these quick with my phone so the lighting isn’t great but I love the rug!  As far as quality I’ll share how it’s holding up after I’ve had it for a while.  It’s definitely thinner than my previous rug and not plush but it looks and feels great considering the price I paid for a rug this size. (This is the 7×10)

travel bags (Sunny Side Up)

{carry-on luggage/straw circle tote/travel make-up bag/duffel bag}

Two of my close friends share a birthday in August so last week we spent several days celebrating.  I packed my bags and we drove an hour away to Dana Point – one of our favorite spots for a quick and easy getaway!  And yes.. we were gone two days and I packed enough for a week.  I’m a big fan of having options.  Just ask Kenny.  My overpacking is one of the many things he loves about me. Ha. ;)

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

We stayed at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa and it’s absolutely beautiful.  I’ve stayed there before and love it so I wanted to share in case you ever want to plan a trip to Dana Point!

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

I love Dana Point because aside from being so close to home the beaches are beautiful and it’s full of so many great restaurants/shopping.  It’s a perfect spot for a girls trip!

We spent lots of time lounging and laughing at the pool and some of our group went to the spa.

{linen beach pants/straw circle tote/bikini (green sold out)/similar flip flops here & here}

Southern Cal is usually sunny but can also be breezy and cool so this has been one of my go-to beach/pool looks this year.  I found this cute top on-line at Pink Lily but it sold out so I linked similar tops/cover-ups below!  I always love tops/coverups with sleeves that breathe.  That way if it’s chilly or I just want a break from the sun on my skin it gives me coverage without being too hot.

Dinner out!  This trip was for my friend Ann’s 50th (pink dress).  We had so much fun celebrating her!

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

Funny sidenote.. Ann and I have been friends for years and this picture is the two of us at the same resort in Dana Point in 2010!  Clearly it’s a favorite spot.  11 years later she still looks fabulous and I’m still the one taking all the pictures. :)

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

Other than spending time at the pool and spa and eating out we also spent some time walking and biking.

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

This was my favorite picture from the trip.  Five of us went on a bike ride and stopped and asked a guy walking by to snap a pic of us on our bikes “with the palm trees in it.”  We laughed so hard when we saw this picture!  So sweet of him but not quite what we had in mind.  Totally something my husband would do.  I was like ok.. we need to find a teenage girl or a mom.

dana point (Sunny Side Up)

A sweet mom with two little kids walked by and we got exactly we wanted. Ha. :)

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

We came back from the trip and got ready for party #2 to celebrate Ann and my other close friend Katy.  It was a 20’s themed murder mystery party!

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

My friend Brittany was the host and she had her home decorated so cute.  I loved the tables!

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

And the feathers on the light fixture!  So creative.  I didn’t snap a picture of her kitchen with all of the food and wish I would have!  She has a beautiful home (all renovated recently!) so I’ll try to get pics of it sometime.

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

{vintage flapper fringe dress}

The 3 of us showed up in the same dress and were cracking up.  Totally NOT planned!  But not a huge surprise either since there are only a few good 20’s outfit options on Amazon. :)  I put mine on for the first time 20 minutes before the party and was so happy it fit.  Then I realized I didn’t have close toed black heels!  Why didn’t I order those Louboutin pumps I saw on-line and loved!?  Oh yeah.. because they were 745 dollars.  Ha.  But they would have been perfect with this dress! ;)

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

We were all given names and identities and had to dress and act the part and try to figure out who committed the murder with clues along the way.  Have you even been to a party like this?  It was a first for me and so funny.  I had a hard time staying in character!  (Kenny and I were Charleston contest winners obsessed with dance and winning.. ha)

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

The whole crew!

20's party (Sunny Side Up)

Such a fun night!  The whole week I felt full of gratitude for good friends.  They make life FUN don’t they!?  By the end of the evening we were all kicking off our shoes and wanting to take off our tights.  I told everyone the next party will be at my house.. Erin style.

PAJAMAS ONLY baby.  Bring it on.

N sale men’s favorites and wrap up!

*affiliate links used

It’s the last weekend of the N sale!  Nobody is cheering louder than my husband.  Ha.  Kidding!  Kind of. ;)  A few days ago I told Kenny he needed to try on the stuff we ordered for him from the sale so I could return anything that didn’t fit.  He put on the first shirt and I loved it and said “hey.. can I snap a quick picture of you in that shirt.. and of everything else you love from the sale?”  Kenny enjoys getting his picture taken about as much as I love cooking so I was surprised when he answered  “sure.”  But then he added “but you only get one picture per shirt and I’m not putting on pants.”  I laughed (wait what!?  so scandalous) and then he added “I mean I’m staying in my shorts.”

Ahhh!  Got it.  That I can live with. ;)

He has been anti long pants since the stay at home ordeal started in March 2020 and has honesty only had them on maybe twice since then.  He is still working from home and living his best life in a dress shirt and his beloved Vuori shorts everyday.

{fireball pullover hoodie/vuori banks shorts/similar vans}

So here is today’s guest on the blog!  Being such a good sport.  I’m sharing the one pic I was allowed to take in each outfit.  Fastest photo shoot EVER.  Ha.  We both love this hoodie!  Perfect to go with all those Vuori shorts he’s living in. :)

Mens clothes N sale (Sunny Side Up)

{tipped t-shirt/similar shorts/chambray slip-ons}

This is a simple tee but the detail around the neck and sleeves elevate it just a bit.  Nice material and a great fit plus it comes in lots of colors.  For just $25 I’m tempted to order him another one.  I love the navy with these new vans!  My husband’s shoe of choice. :)

{georgia crewneck t-shirt/similar shorts/era sneaker}

Kenny really loved this tee because of the way it fit.  Very soft material too!  It comes in 8 different colors.  I got this tan to mix it up because it’s a different color than most tops in his closet.  He already has a pair of Vans this color but they are completely worn out so it was time to replace them.  They go with everything!

{ugg gordon zip hoodie/vuori banks shorts/similar vans}

This Ugg hoodie is so soft and comfortable!  I knew he’d love this the second I saw it.  He lives in shorts and hoodies like this when it’s cool outside.

{adidas essential hoodie/vuori banks shorts/chuck sneakers}

He also lives in hoodies like this one. :)  You can never go wrong with an Adidas hoodie!  Or with Chuck sneakers.  Both are staples for both of us!

Below are a few other items I love and recently ordered him that he hasn’t tried on yet..

{chambray slip-ons/era sneaker/chuck sneakers/air zoom pegasus running shoes}

And these are his favorite shoes from the sale I shared above!  All will be on repeat this Fall.  Fall!  It’s coming!  I can feel it with every back to school e-mail I get.  And I’ve been getting a lot.  :)  You too?  Such a busy time of year with all of the back to school prep happening.  My girls start in a week but Kole is out until September so I have a few more weeks of beach time with little buddy.  No complaints about that. :)

beach days (Sunny Side Up)

Boogie boards and flip-flops drying outside our garage door are a typical summer scene at our house.  I’m ready for summer to end and also.. not. :)

Back to the N sale.. there are so many cute things still in stock!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Round 2 (Sunny Side Up)

{long sleeve performance tee/zella live-in joggers/swift run sneaker}

Staples like my beloved Zella joggers.  (How cute are they in black camo too!?)  I ordered another color in this tong sleeve performance tee too because I wear the grey so much.  It’s light weight and perfect for a walk or hike on cool days!

I also ordered this layer t-shirt to try and the same in the long sleeve t-shirt.  My favorite Caslon tees are still in stock too!  I’m wearing one right now as I type this.  And probably sleeping in it tonight.  Ha.

Also I know I mentioned this before but I can’t recommend this Natori bra enough!  It rarely goes on sale so this is such a good time to pick one up to try.  You can thank me later. :)
