Want to add some Easter decor to your home without going over the top? Not that anything is wrong with over the top. :) I’m sharing a fun Easter decor tray today that will help bring some sunshine and spring into your home! I recently bought this beautiful woven tray and was so excited to decorate with it for spring! I ordered it on-line and loved it even more when it arrived in person. It sat on my table and for a week with me thinking about what I wanted to do with it. The possibilities are endless! So many fun options were swirling through my head.

I decided that for now I wanted to use it to bring some seasonal decor into my home so I filled it with this preserved moss (similar options here & here).

Then I pulled out my basket of eggs and my wooden Easter bunnies.

I added my bunnies in the middle and sprinkled some eggs around them and done!

Easy and stylish Easter decor. I tried adding faux flowers and a few other things but I just kept coming back to this look. Simple always wins for me! Less visual clutter and I like to see the greenery.

It’s the perfect spot for my Easter decor tray. :) Really this tray would look cute on any table and it would make a perfect centerpiece for Easter dinner!

Coupons that were branded with a lovely photo of him and redeemable for all sorts of things like one day of listening to a podcast about feelings, kitchen clean-up with no complaints, one set of blog services, watching one horrible Netflix series that we’ve seen 100 times (I get decision fatigue at night and prefer to watch the same things over and over while I work..ha), one argument concession even if he’s right (he’s never right), one day of excessive compliments, one week of no nicknames (the teasing never ends), and the last coupon said it was good for whatever I want! My mind immediately went to decor.. a new console table for the entry!? A new light fixture for the living room!? But then I started to think BIGGER.

What about 1,000 more of each of these coupons duplicated?

Happy Saturday! 3 things! 1 – I’ve got a GOOD but quick round-up of some weekend favorites and sales for you. 2 – I’m wearing a jumpsuit in this pic and still trying to decide if it’s the cutest outfit ever or a complete disaster. And 3 – it’s March 11th and I’m 46 years old today. 46! I really don’t know how that’s possible since I was just turning 19 about 20 minutes ago, but I have to say that I’m ok with it. I might not feel ok about it at 50 (let’s re-evaluate then because it feels like 50 might be a hard one!), but 46? All good. Honestly I have loved my 40’s! This past year has been a little harder with Ellie moving out and talking all things college with Addison knowing that she’s next. Some days I let it get to me and just feel sad. I can feel the tide turning and the change coming that is life after all of my kids move out. But I heard the phrase somewhere the other day “the best is yet to come” and I decided that is going to be my new mantra. The best is yet to come. No more looking back and feeling sad that certain times or phases of life are coming to an end. There is SO MUCH to look forward to. What exactly am I looking forward to? I don’t totally know yet. Ha. But the best is yet to come so I’m going to be excited for it.

Also I think I love the jumpsuit. :)

It’s a new week! Let’s make it a good one and kick things off with a little spring decor. Who’s ready!? I know I am. Easter eggs are out (cute egg options here!) and I am so ready for sunshine and spring! My kitchen looks clean, but don’t be deceived. I took these pics on a cloudy day while my decor closet was half way organized and there were random items up and down my hallways and flooding my entry, office and dining room. My kitchen was the ONLY clean spot in my house. Just wanted to keep it real. Organized closet is hopefully coming soon. :) (On an unrelated side note.. how cute are these jeans!? Let’s chat about adding black to your spring decor. I’ve been adding more black into my decor this past year and I have to say that I am LOVING it. Have you ever noticed how black just sort of grounds your space? It makes a statement and adds some depth and drama to any room. It’s so easy to bring a little black into your decorating if you haven’t already and want to start! Accessories are a great way to slowly add black and see how it changes the look and feel of your space. These are 4 black kitchen trays I’m loving that you’ll see popping up in my spring decorating this year. They are perfect for decor and serving food if you are entertaining!

This drifter board is so cool. It has some color variation (a charred look) and isn’t completely flat. You can still set items on it but it has just enough movement to give it texture. It would be great in the kitchen but also on a coffee, entry, or dining table. You can never go wrong with a good lazy susan! I use my marble lazy susan every day so I’m excited to have a black option too!

The rectangle boards are my favorite. I bought the large board in my hometown at a fun decor store so I linked similar options. I love the size but it always felt a little too big for my kitchen island so I ordered this tondo board that is just a little shorter and wider and it’s perfect!

I moved my tulips over from the dining room table and added this fun serving basket with lemons. LOVE a bowl of lemons this time of year! That pop of yellow just makes everything happy.

Also how cute is this little marble bunny!? He would look great on top of a stack of books styled on a shelf too. There are some things in life I just can’t pass up. A spring bowl of lemons and a marble bunny would definitely make that list. :)  (Here are some other fun bunny options I’ve seen popping up in stores!)

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend! It has been a little busy for us with the usual weekend activities plus Kenny had back surgery Thursday and is in recovery mode. It was a minor surgery and he is doing great! But I’ve definitely been a little distracted. The hardest part with my husband when it comes to stuff like this is keeping him from heading to the gym thinking he’s 100% on day two. He does not like to slow down! Lucky for him he has me here to monitor his every move. ;)

The rain has been endless although I’m not complaining.. we need it! Well hello! Long time no post. :) Crickets have been chirping on the blog lately because the stomach flu hit our house. NOT good! First Addison, then me, then as soon as I was starting to feel better Kenny got sick. I’m not going to lie.. it was rough. Ha. Kole is the last man standing. Fingers crossed we are out of the woods and he doesn’t get sick! We’ve all had enough saltine crackers and Pedialyte to last a life time. Last year I got food poisoning over President’s Day weekend and landed in the ER so clearly the long February weekend is not my friend! I’m hoping you had a better week!

Our house was basically a disaster while we were sick so Friday I spent some time putting it all back together. I snapped these pics quickly with my cell phone after because it was the most productive thing I had done in a while and it felt so good. Clearly I haven’t been out much lately! I don’t think I ever shared how I styled things after the holidays and wasn’t planning on it since I’m going to change things up soon for spring, but here we are. I’m loving this large block woven square pillow! It’s not the softest to lay on, but I love the texture and pattern. Every other pillow is soft so we’re more than set on pillows to lay on. :) The reed striped lumbar is a long time favorite and comes in other colors.

I’m excited to share some organizing progress I’ve made here and there along with a few organizers from Wayfair I’ve been loving lately!

Over the past few years I’ve added more dishes to my collection, and when I was going through my kitchen during “kitchen week” of our organizing challenge, I knew I needed to figure out a solution for how to store them. I wanted to keep them all in the same cupboard but I was running out of room. I looked on line at Wayfair (they have so many great organizing solutions I’ve used throughout my home over the years!) and landed on these cabinet shelf helpers.

I’m obsessed! They have been a perfect solution.

They are sturdy, they look great, and they add an extra level of storage. I had most of these dishes stacked high on top of each other before, but aside from running out of room it was difficult for Kole to get plates out. Not a problem anymore!

I loved them so much, I ordered more and added these white shelf helpers to the cupboard that holds our drinking glasses. They are a perfect fit with this slender cupboard and added so much vertical storage!

I basically added two extra shelves. So nice when you’re short on space! Now I want to put these in every cupboard in my kitchen.

I did a quick clean out of the cupboards and drawers in my butler’s pantry and styled the shelves. That always feels good!

This wood-top stackable kitchen rack is another great option. I’ve had a few of these for years and have been using one on Kole’s bathroom counter for extra storage. I love the look of it, so aside from using it inside of pantries or cupboards, it also works well on a countertop to help free up space. I’m using it to hold a few smaller items in this cupboard at the moment. I got rid of everything I wasn’t using in these cupboards and it feels so good to have less!

This adjustable lid holder from Wayfair is another long time favorite! I’ve loved storing my pan lids in this cupboard. I only use them once in a while and it frees up so much space for my pots and pans.

My pantry is one spot I stay on top of, but I took 20 minutes to check expiration dates, toss a few older items, and straighten out some of the serving items I store here.

You all know I love OXO storage containers for food, and Wayfair has a huge selection of sizes. I’ve ordered several on line from Wayfair throughout the years to hold more food or replace older containers. They are hands down my #1 pantry staple!

I also love this turntable with adjustable dividers! You could use it in a bathroom also, but I’ve been using it in my pantry to hold oils and sticky items that I don’t like to store in my baskets.

It’s large and a little more heavy duty than most turntables and perfect for a pantry or for under a kitchen or bathroom sink.

When the pantry and fridge are clean and organized, it makes a huge difference for me mentally! Those are two spots I work hard to keep clean, and good organizers really help. So does having a husband and kids who put things away where they go. After years of nagging, I think we are (for the most part) there. In those two spots anyway!

Let’s not get too excited. Ha.

Last but not least, these are long time favorite baskets from Wayfair that I love for organizing! They are a perfect size (tall but not too tall!) to use inside of closets and cupboards for storage. I have these baskets in my master closet.

I have these baskets in my girls’ closets and in a few bathrooms. I also love the handles on all of these baskets because they are perfect to hold a label clip!

I’m also staring to pull out some early spring decor! Just can’t wait one more day. I had too much fun putting this arrangement together for my dining nook table. The frida vase is new this year and it’s so much fun. I love the size and texture and it’s on sale right now! I also can’t recommend these white tulips enough. In other news if you are organizing with me (challenge details here) we are tackling bedrooms this week! This isn’t my bedroom. :) I’m a little behind sharing progress and I’m still stuck in closet week and might just be stuck here forever.. ha. BUT my mudroom that was a hot mess is now clean. Progress! Love how my locker was actually the messiest. I totally let things go in December.

More “befores.” Not awful but in need of a good clean out. The drawers really needed to be vacuumed too. Usually my kids clean their own lockers but I just wanted to GET IT DONE one morning and knocked it out quick.

I filled one sack full of shoes that don’t fit anymore and jackets we don’t wear anymore. It felt so good!

I vacuumed all of the shoe drawers (they get so sandy!).

Then I added this basket for my socks. I’ve been doing this for Kole for years and realized I could use a sock basket myself! I’m always frantically running out the door to pick someone up and then realizing I need socks and running back to my closet on the other end of the house. Now if I’m picking up kids or going to the gym I have socks ready to go! It’s the little things for me. :)

Addison is currently loving life with TWO lockers and drawers since El is gone.

Kole’s sock basket.. going strong since he was 6 years old! Do you keep kids’ socks and shoes by the door? In our previous house (before we had a mudroom and lockers) I kept shoes on shelves in our garage. (Talk about a post from the early days!)

Anything that will help us get out the door quicker is a win in my book!

I’m still loving my jute runner in this space! It’s soft but durable and perfect for a high traffic spot. (Sorry the only current pic I have with my lockers closed is from the holidays!)

In other rug news this beloved runner just came back in stock! I really love this runner and it also comes in other sizes (my friend has it in her son’s bedroom). I had it in my kitchen all last year and it’s currently in my laundry room. (Mine is the 2’4 x 7.) It sold out so quickly so I’m thrilled they brought it back for those of you who have asked about it!

Valentine’s Day is a week away! Sending some love your way. ;) Our porch is feeling festive for February. I used the same decor as last year and while I’m always sad to say good-bye to my winter trees I’m excited for an early spring porch re-fresh at the end of this month!

Can I make a confession since we’re talking about the current state of my porch?

I still have my reindeer up. My friends who have stopped by have been laughing and giving me a hard time about them. Ha. My reindeer are still up not because of laziness but because I’m just not ready to take them down. I said to Kole the other day pulling in from school..

“What do you think bud? Should we take the Christmas reindeer down now that it’s February?”

“I don’t know.. I kind of like them.”

“I like them too.. let’s leave them up a little longer.” 

We smiled watching their twinkling lights quite pleased with our decision and then pulled into the garage.

Every year after the holidays there is usually one thing I’m not ready to take down that I leave up until March. Sometimes it’s a Christmas tree. One year it was my kids’ Santa pictures on the wall. This year it’s the reindeer.

I’m tricky like that.

I know you’re all fascinated by this story and so sad that it’s time to move on..

I’ve been focusing on getting my home organized lately so I haven’t done much decorating, but I did style my favorite olive branches with a few different vases for fun! I can’t decide which look I love best because all of these vases are so good. I got this set of two woven trays for Christmas and they are gorgeous! This is the smaller tray on my island and I have the larger tray on my kitchen table. I tried different heart bowls but like the way this gold mirror vanity tray looks best.

Also I shared this top in my last post and got some questions about my lip color! I’ve been asked that before so thought I would just share it on the blog. It’s all Mac – a long time favorite combo I came up with and have loved for years. :)

Lip gloss: Mac Lipglass “Nymphette” – my all time favorite gloss! I also have and love “Oyster Girl” for a more neutral gloss. I guess that shade went viral on social media and has been a hit ever since! The colors look different on than they do when you look at the color on-line (Oyster Girl looks so pink on-line but is actually a neutral that blends with your lipstick and mostly adds shine).

If you were only going to buy one item I would go for the Mac Lipglass! It’s so pretty in every shade.. you really can’t go wrong.

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! We’ve had a busy week and I’ve been project focused! Getting lots done around here and it feels so good. I’ll share updates soon!
