Happy Sunday!  I hope you’re having a good weekend so far!  I’m working on a fun Fall decorating inspo. post but it’s not quite finished so I’m popping in quick in the meantime to share a few tops I’ve been wearing and loving!  This cute peasant top above has been a favorite go-to this summer that I know I’ll keep wearing for months (still so hot here!) but the rest of the tops in this post are especially great for transitioning into Fall.  It’s that time of year when most of us are over summer clothes and getting excited about Fall, but it’s still too hot to bust out the sweaters!

This short sleeve extended shoulder sweater is a favorite!  I found it a few months ago at Target and have been living in it.  So casual and cute.  Every time I wear it I get compliments on it.  It just has such a fun casual vibe.  Perfect for early Fall or to layer when it gets cooler.

This is another cute Target sweater that’s perfect for early Fall.  I love the neck and the sleeves!

Last Target top.. love this too!  Black is always a Fall staple and this simple balloon sleeve blouse is so lightweight.  Perfect for warm early Fall days.

This plaid top is adorable.  I fell hard for the plaid print, but I fell even harder after I tried it on.  It’s just the right length (not too long – not too short) and it’s such a cute, flattering fit.  An absolute Fall staple.  (I love you Madewell!)  It will look so cute layered under a jacket when it cools off too.

I wore it Friday night to the first home High School football game of the year.  It was so fun seeing El and her friends dance at half time again.  I don’t think I realized how much I missed watching her until I saw her on the field again.  So grateful kids are back in school!  I hung out with my little sidekick all night and this blurry pic was the best we got.  Ha.

I could not love this smocked collar top more!  The color is absolutely stunning (I love jewel tones for Fall!) plus I’m a sucker for anything with puffed sleeves.  The collar is beautiful and I love the fit and material.

I wore it Saturday to lunch in La Jolla with friends.  The 4 of us are on a mission to test every restaurant in San Diego.  Ha.  We never leave a lunch or dinner without planning the next and my goal is to eventually compile our favorites in a San Diego restaurant post for you all!  In the meantime our “research” is a lot of fun and something we all look forward to. :)

Our friends just got a new puppy and it’s the sweetest little poodle ever!  I had a black poodle just like this growing up and holding this sweet puppy made us want one so badly.  Out of the question for us with Addison’s allergies/asthma so her bearded dragon will have to do for a family pet.

Lucky us. ;)

A while ago I shared a backpack I found on Amazon and love.  Addison has been using her so much lately that I thought I’d snap a pic of it in case any of you need something like this with kids going back to school.  (I made her stop for a quick pic on her way out the door last week!)

It’s not huge and we don’t use this for her school/books backpack but more as a purse/backpack for after school activities.  She wanted something smaller than her regular backpack but big enough to hold a water bottle, snacks, her theater/music binder, etc.  I have the same backpack in grey (Ad loves blue in case you couldn’t tell) and it comes in lots of other colors too.  It’s such a nice backpack and has come in so handy for both of us!

This is the crossbody bag I got my girls for Christmas last year that I also highly recommend!  It’s such a great size for your phone, wallet, small essentials.  Both of my girls use theirs every day.  El has black and Ad has blue.. always blue for this girl.  It comes in ALL the colors and makes a great gift too!  Cute to fill it with lipstick or lotion and a Starbucks gift card for a birthday present. :)  This smocked cotton dress Ad is wearing is a newish purchase that is so cute on her.  It’s supposed to be an off the shoulder dress but it’s easily adjustable and can be worn on the shoulders too.  The dress/sneaker combo is so in right now and I wish it would have been when I was in high school!  I’m all for comfortable trends.  Why wear heels when you can wear sneakers?  Genius.  :)

Signing off with a few pretty pics I snapped at Kole’s tennis lesson last week.  The buildings surrounding the tennis courts are absolutely stunning.  I can’t help admiring the architecture every time I’m there!

It’s the last weekend of the N sale!  Nobody is cheering louder than my husband.  Ha.  Kidding!  Kind of. ;)  A few days ago I told Kenny he needed to try on the stuff we ordered for him from the sale so I could return anything that didn’t fit.  He put on the first shirt and I loved it and said “hey.. can I snap a quick picture of you in that shirt.. and of everything else you love from the sale?”  Kenny enjoys getting his picture taken about as much as I love cooking so I was surprised when he answered  “sure.”  But then he added “but you only get one picture per shirt and I’m not putting on pants.”  I laughed (wait what!?  so scandalous) and then he added “I mean I’m staying in my shorts.” 

Ahhh!  Got it.  That I can live with. ;)

He has been anti long pants since the stay at home ordeal started in March 2020 and has honesty only had them on maybe twice since then.  He is still working from home and living his best life in a dress shirt and his beloved Vuori shorts everyday.

This is a simple tee but the detail around the neck and sleeves elevate it just a bit.  Nice material and a great fit plus it comes in lots of colors.  For just $25 I’m tempted to order him another one.  I love the navy with these new vans!  My husband’s shoe of choice. :)

Kenny really loved this tee because of the way it fit.  Very soft material too!  It comes in 8 different colors.  I got this tan to mix it up because it’s a different color than most tops in his closet.  He already has a pair of Vans this color but they are completely worn out so it was time to replace them.  They go with everything!

This Ugg hoodie is so soft and comfortable!  I knew he’d love this the second I saw it.  He lives in shorts and hoodies like this when it’s cool outside.

I just realized yesterday that a Tory Burch wallet almost identical to mine is part of the sale in two different colors!  I’ve had this wallet for years and use it daily and can’t recommend it enough.  It sill looks brand new!  Such a good deal here in cream and black.  You can see everything Tory Burch that’s still on sale here.  A lot of great items to stock up on for Christmas gifts too.  Thinking ahead as always. :)

This faux leather trim bomber jacket is so cozy and such a cute cropped fit!  When I first tried it on I thought oh no.. not keeping this.  It was so boxy looking.  Then I realized there is a little tie on the side that cinches it!  Once I cinched it up I was in love!  It took two pictures.. above I left the cinch tie out so you can see it (hanging to the side).  So nice because you can adjust it to be as fitted as you want.

Then you can tuck the cinch tie up in the jacket or in your jeans so it isn’t hanging out.  Cute.  It comes in lots of colors too!

This exact leather moto jacket sold out.  It’s a great fit and really comfortable with a detachable hood.  I have a feeling they’ll re-stock it at some point because it was so popular this year so keep checking back if you want it.  BUT I found this faux leather jacket that is almost identical and still available!  A lot less expensive and still on sale if you love the look.  Also they re-stocked these boots!  My favorite boots from the sale this year.. I go them in caramel too.

This puff sleeve top is adorable and I’m so happy I can start wearing it now!  It’s a fitted top.. comes in other colors and is soft.. I love the sleeve length too!

This is another top from the sale that I loved.  So cute and I think it’s being overlooked because it has only one so-so review.  I love it!  It has the cutest twisted straps on the back (you can see it here) that my hair cover (ha) and it’s a soft lightweight material.

I ordered it in black too and am still debating which color to keep.  I took this pic so that you can see the length.

I prefer it with a little front tuck. But you all knew that. :)

This cropped free people princess sweater is another cute find.  Incredibly soft and it also comes in a blue and black!  This would also be really cute with leggings tossed on over workout clothes for the day to pull your outfit together.

I ordered a few sneakers to try and love these Nikes!  Very comfortable and just cute for every day running around.  They come in black too.

This cozy Alo sweatsuit is one of my favorite things from the sale!  It’s incredibly soft and such a flattering fit.  Both the hoodie and sweatpants sold out completely for a while, but I’ve been seeing sizes pop back up the last couple of days and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was re-stocked at some point.  I hope so because it’s GOOD.

This next find is just a sweatshirt.  That’s it!  Just a plain ordinary oversized sweatshirt.  But I’m telling you.. it’s the cutest fitting, softest plain ordinary sweatshirt I’ve ever found!  Actually let me give credit where credit is due.  I didn’t find this.. Addison did.  She found in our store and tried it on and fell hard.  So I tried it on and fell harder.  So we bought it in navy..

and ivory and we’re sharing them both!  (It also comes in grey.)  It is oversized so I would go down one size from your norm and it will still be a slouchy fit.  (I’m wearing xxs.)  I just feel like there are so many times I want a plain, ordinary, comfortable sweatshirt to throw on over other clothes when I’m cold or to take on a plane, etc. and I don’t have one.  Now I do. :)  It’s the softest and on sale for just $22!

If you are looking for good running shoes we love Nike Pegasus at our house!  I bought a pair for Kole, this pair for Kenny and this cute white pair for me.  I have a black pair that I’ve been exercising in for a year or so that I paid full price for (they are expensive shoes!) so I bought this pair for when my current pair bites the dust.  Kenny runs daily and is always training for a half or full marathon and these are his favorites so we’ve all started using them for our exercise/sport shoes.  They work well for my training too.  Which is more of a walk/stroll/saunter. Ha. ;)

I mentioned before that I love Rails but it’s a pricey brand so I only buy Rails items during this sale.  I ordered this cute sweatshirt and joggers and knew that I had to really love them to keep them because of the price.  Even on sale they are pricey for sweats!  Although I wear my sweats more than anything else so there’s that. :)  Anyway.. I LOVE the sweatshirt!  So cute and I love the fit.  I didn’t love the joggers.  The small was way too big and baggy and made me look 5 pounds heavier (never a good thing!) and the xs had a fitted/tight look that was just weird.  So the bottoms are going back.

But I’m keeping the top to wear with other solid colored joggers OR with jeans.  LOVE this sweatshirt.  Navy tie dye is always my favorite tie dye. :)  Thought I’d share my view on both.. don’t waste your time with the joggers but I would totally recommend the sweatshirt if it’s worth the money to you!

I’m thrilled that there are more barefoot dreams blankets in stock this year!  An item that usually sells out so quickly.  I’ve mentioned before that Kenny always steals my favorite in the wild throw so I ordered one for him for Christmas.

It arrived a few days ago and it’s such a beautiful color for Fall!  (Camel)  I think I’m going to have to give it to him early so that I can have it on my couch with all of my Fall pillows.  He seems to think we share my blanket so I just decided that we’re sharing his too.  I’m nice like that. :)

Kole’s back to school stuff arrived!  He wears a uniform for school so I really just needed comfy clothes for sports and activities after school.  And new shoes!  I can’t keep up with how fast he grows out of his shoes.  In past N sales I’ve bought two pairs of the same shoes (his size and one size bigger) just so I don’t have to even think about new shoes for him for a while!

We’ve already broken in his Nikes.  Perfect for all of the tennis he has been playing this summer.  I’m doing my best to keep this boy busy!  It’s my second full time job. Ha.

I got these classic slip-on sneakers for him to wear with dress pants and snapped this pic on our way to church Sunday.  His mischievous smile makes me smile.  He was waiting for his sisters.. always waiting on those two. ;)

The barefoot dreams cardigans are still in stock in certain sizes too!  I’ve had mine for years and love them dressed up or to throw on over pjs.  I have this long cardigan in black and then the circle cardigan I’m wearing in this pic above.  They are the coziest and such a good deal right now!

Happy Friday!  I’m back with my N sale try on round 2.  Sale is open to another group!  If you can’t shop until it opens to everyone on July 28th just save items to your wish list so you are ready!  It’s a longer lag time this year until everyone can shop so I’m hoping they re-stock certain items.  If something you love is sold out keep checking back!  Aside from re-stocking items I’ve also seen certain sizes of items pop back up on-line when returns are made.

It’s always fun to take my girls to the sale to get a few things for back to school.  Long gone are the days when I could just pick out cute matching outfits I love for them and call it good!  They do however occasionally fall for something I love too so once in a while we still get our matching fix. :)  Addison and I are both crazy about this weathered graphic tee!  It’s a baggy, relaxed fit.  True to size.  I’m wearing an xs and Ad actually got it in a small because she wanted it oversized.  I’m always so happy when I pick something out my girls love and want too.  It’s a good sign I’m still slightly tuned in to what’s hip.

Ever so slightly. I did just use the word “hip.” Ha.

Here’s a closer look at the tee with my favorite over the knee boots!  I love this fun grey/black wash in both the tee and boots.  It’s just like the wash in these frayed hem jeans I bought too!  (Jean pic in this post.)

LOVE this rib t-shirt dress!  So cute dressed up with a belt and boots like I’m wearing it, but it would also be cute casual.. w/o the belt and with sneakers.  Madewell of course. :)  If you look at in on-line it looks pretty short so I’m guessing the models are slightly taller than me. Ha.  For height reference I’m 5’3 and a half (don’t forget the half) and it hits just above my knees. It also comes in 3 other colors.  I love the golden pecan for Fall!  These boots are a tighter fit so they are perfect for over leggings or with a dress/skirt.  My calves are thicker so they definitely wouldn’t work over jeans for me.  Just an FYI on fit!

This faux suede jacket is a 10/10!  Soft as butter and it’s also an amazing fit.  I love jackets like this when I need to dress things up but still want to be comfortable.  Which is always when I need to dress things up. :)

Speaking of comfort.. this has been one of my go-to outfits for years!  I know you’ve seen it lots before. :)  I can’t speak highly enough about these live-in joggers.  They are definitely an item on repeat around here.  I bought this breathable long sleeve tee (also Zella) at the N sale last year and have loved it too.  I wear it both when I exercise (walks/hikes when it’s cool outside) and just as a lounge top.  Very soft and comfortable and it comes in lots of colors!

This fun dot blouse is another favorite.  I’m always so happy when I find something at the N sale I can start wearing immediately!  Looks like it sold out in this color but it also comes in black and a pretty corral.  It’s lightweight, slightly shorter in the front and has a really cute slouchy fit.

There are a lot of days that I never make it out of workout clothes.  I always have good intentions of getting dressed but I’d say at least 40% of the time it doesn’t happen!  I exercise quick in the morning, get kids ready and off to school (or ready and off to zoom in their bedrooms.. ha) and then I hit the ground running with my to-do list.  I have come to absolutely love crop sweatshirts!  They are so perfect to toss on over my workout clothes and call it done for the day.  This v-neck crop top is so soft!  On sale for just $25 and I know I’ll live in it!

So I bought it in black too. :)  Did I mention I love crop sweatshirts!?  Wearing it here with my vuori black camo leggings.

And sidenote since we’re talking about cute crop sweatshirts.. I bought this a few weeks ago and love it.  Not part of the N sale but it’s from Nordstrom and it’s on sale so I think it can hold its own in this post. :)  It’s a steal right now for just $17!  We love Palm Desert and go often for quick weekend trips since it’s just 2 hours away so I couldn’t pass this up!

Ok.  I think I’m going to return this one.  Still debating!  But I wanted to share it because I love it!  On taller girls. :)  This henley tee was one of the most popular items in the N sale last year.  I didn’t buy it and then thought it was so cute every time I saw someone wearing it so I bought it this year.  It’s an oversized top and it says on-line to go down a size.  I’m a shortie and usually wear xs in tops and they don’t sell it in xxs.  I feel like I’m swimming in it!  I’m all about oversized tops, but this one just feels TOO oversized for me.  So while I don’t recommend it for short girls.. if you’re 5’5 and up it’s so cute with leggings!  It comes in 3 other colors that are fun for Fall too!

The barefoot dream throws are back and on sale!  They are pricey for sure but wow.  Never was there a more coveted throw in our house!  Another will definitely be popping up under our Christmas tree this year because I want to claim my blanket back as mine all mine!  It’s a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie throw. :)

Happy Wednesday!  Popping in quick with a few N sale fashion selfies!  It feels appropriate to kick things off with something green. :)  This ruffle top is adorable – I love sleeves!  The best part is that it’s light weight so it’s a perfect “transition into Fall” top when temps are still warm.  It comes in a pretty rust orange, cream and black.  But who could pass up that green!?  If you’re looking for good jeans on sale to try my favorites are AG jeans (my #1), Paige jeans, and Good American jeans.

Because my closet is already pretty stocked with AG jeans from previous N sales I only bought one new pair of jeans this year (so far) and I totally branched out.  These frayed hem ankle skinny jeans are so fun.  I love the wash!  A trendy grey that will work great with graphic tees.  I even like black with them which is great because I have a lot of black tops.  These mules were from the N sale last year and I have lived in them.  SO comfy and easy to slip on.  I love the thicker gold chain on the mules in the sale this year!  I also stocked up on a few new Caslon tees while they are marked down for just $12.  These tees are great for layering under vests or cardigans when it gets cold.  I also wear them a lot with lounge pants or joggers and I sleep in them too!  A multipurpose top.  :)

Madewell colorblock cardigans are so much fun and they sell out every year!  Easy to see why.  Could they BE any more Fall!?  (K.. that just reminded me of the Friends reunion. If you know.. you know.) :) Aren’t the new mules cute!?  And I love this initial pendant necklace.  I’ve almost bought it 10 times and the sale made it a no brainer.

I mentioned in yesterday’s round-up post that I love this stripe sweater.  So cute right!?  It’s a great length/fit.  And these are the over the knee boots I fell hard for!  Hands down my favorite boot in the sale this year.  I have thicker calves so some tall boots are tight on me.  These aren’t too tight at all and they slide right over my jeans.  So comfy and I love that they can be dressed up or down.

Annnnd my favorite stripe sweater comes in green too!  How could I pass that up!?  Clearly I need to start shopping with friends.  My closet starts to resemble all things leprechaun when I shop alone. Ha. If you don’t want to be a leprechaun like me you’ll be happy to know that it also comes in a navy, light grey and a beautiful gold for Fall.

My long time favorite tanner bar necklace is part of the sale this year!  And Rails!  I love that brand but it’s so pricey.  I have a few Rails items in my closet and they have all been from N sales.  My Rails flannels are tops I wear over and over every year and they never date!  They have a slim, flattering fit, are cute tucked in or left out and they are a little longer in the back.  You can’t try one on without wanting to buy it so if you don’t want to splurge on a Rails top.. don’t try one on.

I’m just full of good advice I don’t follow myself aren’t I!? Ha.

Last outfit for today.  This turtleneck vest could not be better!  Talk about a top that’s made for San Diego Fall.  This baby will work for me clear through December.  We usually graduate to long sleeves about the time most people have graduated to snow boots.  Finally I can wear something cute and Fallish to the pumpkin patch and not sweat to death! Here. for. it!

These lace-up boots are so cute!  They aren’t practical for San Diego but if there was anywhere at all I could possibly wear them they would be mine!  If you buy them send me a picture in them so that I can vicariously live through you in these stylish beauties.  LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

I didn’t buy booties this year because I have a few pairs from past N sales that are still in great shape, but if you are looking for a new pair you can’t go wrong with Vince Camuto!  They are always my favorite booties hands down.  So comfortable and this tortilla suede color goes with everything!

Not much progress on unpacking and laundry today, but I did hit the Nordstrom sale and we have groceries!  Life is all about priorities. ;)  I’m going to post outfit pics soon but wanted to share my top picks in each category first.  These are the items I either already have and love OR items on my wish list I wanted to try on this year.  One thing worth mentioning about the N sale this year – the stores don’t have certain brands/items in stock and there is A LOT more on-line.  I noticed this in my store and have heard that’s the case everywhere else too.  Usually I can find most of my wish list in the store but not this year.  Clearly I still did some damage (ha) but I ended up getting a few cute things and then items for my family/gifts in the store and then I came home and ordered the rest of the items I wanted on-line.  Just a heads up if you are used to getting most items at your store!  You might have better luck shopping from home.  In your sweats.  Eating popcorn.

I always hit shoes first with this sale and I did find some cute shoes in my store!  Below are favorites and what I came home with.

I pretty much had these shoes picked out before I went but two pairs surprised me.  The pink running shoes (honestly the most comfortable shoes EVER.. I feel like I’m walking on a cloud in them!) and the heidi over the knee boots.  Hands down my favorite boots this year!  They are so comfortable and stylish and can be dressed up or down.  I couldn’t decided between the brown or black so I came home with both thinking I’ll try things on and figure out which color I’ll wear more.  They are SO cute.

I always splurge on a pair of Ugg slippers to live in all winter and these are both so comfortable.  The cozette slippers I bought last year and I have lived in them this spring/summer.  Both of these have thick soles which I love for slippers!

It took great restraint to just come home with two!  Tory Burch is always my favorite and I know this large tote and small crossbody will become long time staples.  The black crossbody I bought last year at the N sale and it has been one of my most used purses!  Both of these smaller purses are perfect for dinner with friends/date night.

This year I was thrilled to see the Olaplex set in the sale!  I’m so excited to try the shampoo/conditioner.  I have a feeling this set will sell out quick because it’s so popular.  I also came home with this mascara set and I always pick up new Bobbi Brown eyeshadow (it’s my favorite).  Other makeup/beauty favorites are below!
