Girls Organized Bathroom & Prime Time

*affiliate links used

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a nice Father’s Day weekend!  I’m kicking the week off with two fun topics.. Amazon prime day and my girls’ organized bathroom drawers.  They don’t have much in common other than they are both topics of interest to me at the moment.. ha.  Do you wait to buy things during Prime Day?  I have a few outdoor rug options picked out on Amazon (our current rug is so faded from the sun!) so I’m watching close to see if they get marked down.  Let me know if you want me to share them!  Devices are all marked down (woot woot!) so we are picking up a new family iPad too.  Of course I always tend to naturally gravitate towards home decor during sales like this.  I just ordered these faux cherry blossom branches – they look beautiful and are such a good deal!  I rounded up some Amazon favorites you’ve probably seen in my house a time or ten along with a few items I have my eye on below!

(Head here to see all Prime Day Deals!)

Amazon home Favorites (thesunnysideupblog.com)

1- white marble wood serving board   2-  storage baskets  3- wood serving bowl

4-  artificial cherry blossom branches  5- arched wall mirror   6- bell hanging ceiling lamp

7- battery operated candle set   8- large storage baskets   9- round wall mirror

10- candle holders set   11- large wood serving bowl   12- wood bead garland

13- decorative vase   14- computer desk   15- arm chair   16- cutting boards

Ok.. remember our fun Spring Get Organized Challenge?  I was organizing like a mad woman and knocking spaces out faster than I could share them!  I organized my girls’ bathroom drawers during bathroom week and never had time to post the pics.  My girls have surprisingly kept their drawers clean so I think we have found a few systems that work!

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

First up is Ellie’s side.  I used a few different organizers including this 16 piece drawer organizer set.  They are very similar to the organizers I used in my bathroom drawers.  They are less expensive and the main difference I’ve noticed is that they are a little thinner and slip around the drawer a little more.  Nothing that a little putty can’t fix!  (I use this museum putty a lot to hold plates on shelves, organizers in drawers, etc.)

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

I also used these expandable drawer organizers to hold her make-up and small things like rings.  I love these organizers because you can easily make them fit whatever size of drawer you have since they expand top to bottom.  They are shallow so perfect for thin/small items.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

This is a shared drawer so it holds a few random items like brushes and nail polish that my girls share.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

It also holds our favorite hair brush cleaning tool!  The best for cleaning hair out of brushes.  Trust me on this one.. we have lots of thick hair at our house. :)

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

Addie’s side.. same expandable organizers.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

Nothing like clean and organized bathroom drawers.  Such a nice sight to see every day when you get ready!

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

More of Ad’s side..

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

and a few more random middle shared drawers.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

We’ve had these mesh stackable bins for years.  They are perfect to hold scrunchies, headbands and other large random bathroom items.  They are also great to stack under a sink if you are short on space.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

Addison is my skin care girl so she has lots of random masks and bottles.  I used my go-to drawer dividers to hold them.  Always a win!  They are perfect for deep drawers if you want to be able to stand bottles and other items up instead of laying them flat.

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

Curling irons and other hair tools are all together in a bottom shared drawer.

The best part is that these organizers have made it so simple for my girls to easily put items back where they go which is why these drawers have stayed looking so nice.  Every once in a while we use our go-to bathroom hand held vac to clean debris/hair out of the drawers and that’s it!  Done and done.  Angels are singing and we can call this makeover a win. :)

Girls Bathroom Sources:

Below are other bathroom organization favorites!

7 – adjustable drawer dividers  8 – clear plastic jar set  9 – woven rattan nesting baskets

Organized bathroom drawers (Sunny Side Up)

You can see how other bathrooms throughout our home are organized in this post (my drawers) and in this post (Kenny’s drawers and other bathrooms).

Enjoy your day!  Have fun shopping ALL the Amazon Prime deals and clean out a drawer or two!  Both are instant uppers.

Life/Home/Fashion updates

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Hello hello!  Catching up today with a little life/home/fashion update.  Apologies in advance for the length of this post.. it’s a random dump of ALL the things.  You might want to grab a snack.  I’ve got a bowl of popcorn and some sour skittles so I’m feeling ready to write.

It’s officially SUMMER at our house and we couldn’t be more excited.  Talk about a crazy school year.  One we will never forget!  Kole turned in his state float (Hawaii if you couldn’t tell) ;) and that was our last project of the year.  He did an amazing job both creating his float and creating a huge mess in our office.  Mission accomplished.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

I’m especially fond of the volcano and grass skirt.  Well done buddy.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

He insisted on including a pineapple somewhere on his box (it’s small.. can you find it?) because he loved visiting the Dole Plantation.  He also loves sharing interesting facts he has learned with me all day long so I now know more about Hawaii’s pineapple industry than I ever cared to know.  Kole earned his A.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{pineapple tee/sandals here & here}

And I earned my new tee.  Pineapples for all. :)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

The second school got out we hit the beach!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

We met friends and had the best day.  Half the beach came home with us like it always does but I didn’t mind.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Summer is here!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Remember my Spring/Summer tablescape?

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{large gold planter/small gold planter/faux pink peonies}

Lots of pinks and a touch of gold.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{pink glasses/jute chargers/gold flatware/wool jute rug}

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{petal dinner plates/pink petal salad plates/pink frayed napkin/aria gold napkin ring}

I switched it up!  Just a little because my new dinner plates came in and they are gorgeous!  I added the beautiful napkins and found some gold napkin rings that go with my gold flatware.  I love it all on the jute charger.  So fun for summer!  I shared this on IG stories and got a lot of questions about whether or not I leave my table decor up and the answer is yes!  I’ve created a little routine of dressing up this formal dining room table for Fall, Christmas, Spring and/or Summer and then I leave the dishes out for the season.  (I put the glasses away, but keep everything else set and just clean the top plate each time before we use them.  Dust hasn’t been a big issue but I do that just in case!)  That way I can invite friends over to eat on a whim and the table is ready to go.  It also just looks pretty in the dining room when we aren’t using it.  Once in a while for special occasions we eat in this room as a family, but for most meals our family eats at the table in our dining nook.  Or outside or huddled around the kitchen island.. we are pretty chill when it comes to dining most days.  I set my decorative tables mostly for girl friends or couple friends I invite over to eat.  I usually serve take-out, but when you put it on a pretty plate nobody seems to care where the food is from. Ha. :)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

The serving board that I ordered with the petal plates came in too.  A really nice option for summer entertaining!  I plan on covering it with lots of fruit, crackers and cheese over the next few months. :)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

It doubles as pretty decor too when we aren’t using it.  I love the light wash finish and the loop handle!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

In other kitchen news I ordered this runner months ago to try in our upstairs laundry room.  I didn’t love it there but put it in my kitchen and it has been a nice change!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

A very inexpensive way to mix it up and get a new look.

{family room sources}

Ok.. last home update.  For this post anyway. :) My new coffee table arrived and I can’t believe how it changed the whole feeling in my family room!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{coffee table/wool jute rug/roll arm couch}

I snapped this pic right after it was delivered so it wasn’t styled and I hadn’t moved my old table!  I LOVE the new table and can’t believe how much it changed the feeling in this room.  It works so well with my barstools which you can’t see in this pic but I’ll share more pictures at some point.  Never underestimate the impact big items like your couch, coffee table and rug make in a space.  HUGE!  *Side note – I still love our old coffee table but aside from being ready for a change (we’ve had it for almost 8 years ) the rustic top has given us all splinters a time or ten!  OUCH.  I was tired of that and tired of the cluttered feeling of the baskets.  It’s going to my mom’s house and she is excited so a win for all!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

We’ve been celebrating so many friends birthdays lately and we usually just meet for lunch or dinner but one of my close friends wanted to meet for a walk/hike instead.  We walk all the time and I wanted it to feel a little more special than our every day routine so I opened the back of my van and decorated it with some leftover party supplies and filled it with some breakfast foods/treats.  After our hike we pulled out balloons and sang to her and ate and chatted about why we love her so much.  I thought I’d share the idea here in case any of you want to do it for a friend/family.  It was so easy and helped her feel special on her birthday.  Mission accomplished. :)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Grateful for good friends!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{mascara primer/maybeline d-a-lash/two faced b-t-s/similar eye lash curler}

I’ve probably tried out and tested hundreds of mascaras through the years and this is my tried and true favorite combo EVER.  I just ordered new primer so I thought I’d share.  (This bottle of primer has lasted so long and it looks like the tube has a new look!)  The trick I’ve found with primer is that it works best when you put your mascara on immediately after applying it.  I use an eyelash curler (I’ve had mine for years.. this looks like another good option) and then I put on the Lancome primer and then I put on my all time favorite Maybeline mascara.  That’s my daily routine.  If I’m going out and want my lashes even bigger/thicker I add this mascara on top of my Maybeline mascara.  Trust me.. it’s a winning combo!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve dress/flip flops}

Remember this cute flutter sleeve dress I shared a few posts back?  It comes in other colors/patterns.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve dress/kate spade purse/heels/pineapple mat}

Addison needed a black dress for a student council school event so I had her try it on and it was perfect!  It’s so fun now that my girls are old enough to share clothes with me.  Isn’t it cute on her?  She definitely wins the “who wore it best.” ;)  I’m sharing this for those of you who have asked for teen girl clothes suggestions!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{ankle strap sandal}

We needed some dressy shoes for both of my girls and have loved these Steve Madden sandals.  They are comfortable and work well with everything so I just bought both of my girls a black pair and a tan pair!  Nice that they have a little heel for height, but not a super high heel that has them tripping all over the place.  They get the tripping from me. Ha.

Below are some clothes my girls have been loving and wearing often.  El lives in jeans and oversized hoodies.  Ad lives in jeans, graphic oversized tees and dresses.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve blouse/ag jeans/similar tory burch purse here & here}

This flutter sleeve blouse (similar to the dress above) is still in stock!  So cute for summer.

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve blouse/sandals here & here}

I also have it in this cute print.  Would be fun for the 4th of July!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{peachy keen tee}

Another day another graphic tee.  LOVE this one.  Peachy keen indeed. :)

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

{floral ruffle sleeveless top}

This floral ruffle top is another fun summer option!  I tried it on with 3 different pants.  Dark jeans..

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

Light cropped jeans for a more causal look..

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

and then with these white beach pants.  It would be really cute with cut offs too!

Home updates (Sunny Side Up)

I don’t know why but in the summer I wear more bracelets.  Maybe because my tops are all short sleeved and you can see bracelets better than in the cold months when I’m living in sweaters?  Maybe because I have more time for jewelry when I’m not rushing kids all around?  Or maybe I just feel more fancy in the summer?  One of life’s mysteries we may never solve but regardless.. I linked a few favorites. :)

Well!  It’s probably time to wrap up this everything and yet nothing post and call it done.  I know this because there’s nothing but popcorn kernels left in my bowl and my sour skittles?  They too have vanished.  I could grab more snacks and carry on (I certainly have an abundance of things to share) but since you all have lives you need to get back to (and since I need to fit into my jeans for the next fashion round-up) I’ll save a little for later.  For now.. mission accomplished.

:)

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

I have so much to share with you all!  But I’m really short on time with all of the last week of school activities so I’m popping in with a quick post full of my favorite gift ideas for Father’s Day.  Quick but important because we love spoiling our dads. :)  I asked Kenny what his #1 favorite thing/gift idea/recommendation is and he spat out Vuori without even taking a breath!  After my obsession with Vuori joggers and workout clothes I started buying him a top here and some shorts there for different holidays and occasions and now he is so hooked he hardly wears anything else.  Honestly the SOFTEST most comfortable clothes!  I snapped this yesterday quick when he came in the kitchen for a snack.  He is still working from home and this is his every day look.  Not hard to see why he prefers working from home now.. ha.  He loves all of the tops and shorts (really you can’t go wrong with this brand) but his absolute favorites are the Strato Tech tees and the Banks shorts.  He also loves his Vuori jackets.

Men's Vuori Favorites (thesunnysideupblog.com)

1- performance hoodie   2- outdoor trainer shell

3- long sleeve tee    4- strato tech tee   5- banks short

Below are some other favorites and ideas I rounded up!  Kenny loves movies so I ordered the top 100 movie poster for him for a fun gift.  We’ll have to see if we can make our way through all of them although I’m sure we’ve seen most!  He has been loving the Jack Black products I got him for Christmas ever since I cleaned out his bathroom drawers and he remembered he had them.  Ha.  He loves the Jack Black shampoo and has used it for a few years now.  It’s a little pricey but that big bottle lasts him FOREVER.  Vans are my husband’s casual shoe of choice and I’m slightly embarrassed about how many different colors he has because I usually pair them with a Vuori item for a gift every time a holiday rolls around!  Always a hit. :)  Swimsuits and flip flops make great gifts this time of year.  I also included other things Kenny loves like good running shoes and socks, a Yeti cooler (we’ve loved ours.. a gift from my dad!), spike ball (so popular), and a sentimental book you fill in about why he is loved.

Father's Day Gift Guide (thesunnysideupblog.com)

1- movie scratch off poster   2- waterproof phone pouch

3- vans   4- board shorts   5- zella hoodie  6- skin saviors set

7- running socks   8- water resistant board shorts   9- I love you dad book

10- ugg scuff slipper   11- running shoe   12- yeti cooler

13- travel toiletry bag   14- flip flop   15- spike ball

Father’s Day is quickly approaching so I hope this post gives you a few ideas!  If you want even more ideas here is my Father’s Day Gift Guide from last year too!  I’ll be back soon with my low key/low stress summer attitude and lots to share.  SO ready.

Easy Shopping & Summer Dessert

*This post is sponsored by Walmart and affiliate links are used.  All product selections and opinions are my own!
4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Half way through the week and we are counting down over here!  My kids have this week and next before summer break and this is the week that all the projects are due, tests/finals are being taken, and the Open Houses, events and performances are happening.  We’re on the go!  Next week is the chill “clean your desk, take home your stuff and party” week so things will definitely slow down once we make it to Friday.  Bring it on.. we are so ready for summer.  I can’t wait to have my kids give their lockers a good clean out and call it a school year!

summer groceries (Sunny Side Up)
May is so busy for moms and honestly Walmart’s on-line pick up and delivery has been a life saver for me this month.  We have always ordered some groceries on-line through Walmart to save money (groceries in San Diego are pricey!), but now with their easy pick up and delivery service I’m starting to get so many other items there too.. cleaning products, craft supplies for school projects, yard essentials, arm weights to step up my morning treadmill routine, Ellie’s favorite shampoo/conditioner (she’s obsessed with coconut everything at the moment), summer pool/beach toys for the kids.. they have it all!

I used to be nervous about having someone else pick out my fruit.. ha.  I’m picky and like to choose my own produce but they have a guarantee to pick the freshest items or you can contact customer care for a refund so I’ve been going for it and so far the fruit has been great!  I love that my favorite items (things I order again and again) are saved so that when I go to shop on-line it’s quick and easy.  I just click what I need and done!  (Pick up is always free!  A $35 order minimum and small delivery fee apply for delivery. Pickup and Delivery are available in select markets.)

We had a lot going on last weekend with Addison’s birthday so I ordered some food for the weekend and just swung by Walmart to pick it up.  Then Addison and I made the most delicious dessert for Memorial Day!  My sister made it last year when we all got together for the 4th of July and it was such a hit.  I thought I’d share the recipe because it’s perfect for summer get togethers and of course for the 4th of July!

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Isn’t my sister cute!?  She always spoils us on the 4th and makes the most delicious food!

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Golden Oreo Layered Pudding Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 family size package of Golden Oreos
  • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes of instant french vanilla pudding mix (you could also use cheesecake!)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pound strawberries (hulled and quartered)
  • 1 pint blueberries

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Add about two rows of Golden Oreos to a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Layer the crushed Oreos on the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan.  Then make the vanilla layer.  (3 different mixtures!)  Beat 8 oz cream cheese in a large bowl until it’s smooth and creamy.  In another large bowl combine 2 packages of instant pudding with 4 cups of milk and whisk for 2 minutes until it’s thick.  Add the pudding and the cream cheese together and mix.  Then in a different bowl (or quickly clean one of the bowls you just used!) add 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, 3/4 cup powered sugar and 1 teaspoon Vanilla.  Beat with electric beaters for a couple of minutes until the cream forms soft peaks.  Then fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture and stir it all together.

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Spread the pudding mixture on top of the crust you made with Oreos.  Then cover this and refrigerate for at least 2 hours!  You can make this up to 12 hours in advance.

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

After some time in the fridge, add the top layer of Oreos.  (I just used a knife to chop them into quarters and I ended up using more oreos than one row.. just add as many as you want!)

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Then top with sliced strawberries and blueberries!  (*Tip – have the Oreos cut in a bag and the fruit cut and washed and ready to go ahead of time so that when you are ready to serve it you can pull it out of the fridge and just sprinkle everything on quickly.)  It’s so easy and delicious!  Feeds a large crowd and is sure to be a hit.  The only downside with this dessert is that the Oreos get soggy after a while so I don’t love it as much for leftovers.  It’s best to serve at a summer BBQ or get together with friends when it will be devoured in one night.. it never lasts long!

4th of July layered pudding dessert (Sunny Side Up)

Have you ever made it before?  Or something similar?  It’s so delicious.  If you try it and love it let me know!

I’m off to Kole’s 5th grade Open House. :)  Enjoy your day!

May Amazon Buys

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I hope you’ve had a nice weekend so far!  We’ve been busy celebrating our sweet 15 year old.  Such a fun few days full of friends and food and shopping and games and pedicures and movies and pool time and Starbucks pink drinks galore!  I’m going to need a weekend to recover from this weekend. :)  I think she felt the love and that was the goal so mission accomplished!  We love our Addison SO much.

I can’t believe it’s the last day in May!  Below are my Amazon purchases for the month.  More of a few old favorites and a few new favorites I’m excited about too.  (I snapped all of these pics with my phone so ignore the poor lighting!)

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{glass jar with flowers/similar crock/faux pink peonies/dish brush}

Such a small thing but I needed a dish scrubber for this sink by the window and found this cute bamboo dish brush.

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I placed it in a decorative bowl and now something so useful doubles as decor.  Bring on the dishes!  Kind of crazy but they aren’t as much of a chore for me with my cute new brush.  Wonder how long that feeling will last. :)

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{reclaimed wood vase/navy shelf vase/similar faux white flowers/liberty banner/navy throw/cordova tray/terracotta bowl/wood chain/made for living book/marble box/

I added a few patriotic touches to the living room!  I love having it up in time to remember and honor everyone who served our country on Memorial Day.  Very similar to last year’s decor with my favorite banner on my mantel, but I added a few new things.  (This gorgeous large tray is on sale today!)

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

My favorite being this decorative wood chain!  I wanted something a little bigger for my terracotta bowl and this is perfect!  I’ve seen very similar decorative chains for a lot more money so I was thrilled when I found this.  It came with some cute smaller beads too!

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{weekly planner pad/daily plan}

Time to refill my weekly planner pad!  I use the weekly pad a lot to organize my blog/IG content.  It helps me to see the entire week on one page.  I also like the habit tracker at the bottom.  “Drink more water” and “put away clothes in closet immediately” seem to be two habits I’m always working on and have yet to nail.  Someday I’ll get there!  The daily plan is great for busy days that need more scheduling.

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

(gold vase/faux peonies/cross hatch/wicker tray/macrame coasters/pink glasses/floral pillow}

I’m THRILLED about these macrame coasters!  Our glasses always sweat (is it a humidity thing!?) and it drives me crazy when water is dripping all over the table.  I have a lot of pretty decorative coasters, but they don’t absorb water on the outside of the cup.  These coasters are not only cute to have out on my coffee table, but they also keep my table from getting wet.  Score!  It’s the little things. :)  (A mad game of Clue was going on behind the scenes in this picture.)

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{collapsible colander}

Meet my new summer obsession!  I LOVE this collapsible colander!  It’s thin and easy to store when you aren’t using it.

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

When you are using it just pull out the handles and push the bottom and wa-la!  A deep colander that makes draining food a breeze.  I especially love it for fruit that I want to wash and cut so it’s ready to eat.

May Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Done and done.  This is so handy!  Especially for sinks that are large and deep.

A few other Amazon favorites from the month include my favorite mascara, a few travel bags (so excited for upcoming summer trips!), Kenny’s hair gel (he loves Reformer), another set of our favorite sheets (gave them to a friend for her birthday!), the items I mentioned above and the book Effortless.  I’ve been listening to it on Audible.  I loved Greg McKeown’s first book Essentialism (so good if you haven’t already read it!) so I thought I’d give his next book a try now that I’m back to my days of living in my car. :)  I’ll let you know what I think when I’m done!

May. Amazon buys (thesunnysideupblog.com)

1- toiletry travel bag   2- dish brush    3- hair putty

4- effortless   5- maybelline mascara  6- coasters

7- electronic organizer    8- decorative wood bead chain.

9- weekly planner notepad  10- happy birthday banner set

11- kitchen strainer  12- bed sheet set

I’d love to hear about any Amazon items you’re loving!  It’s always fun sharing favorites. :)  Speaking of favorites.. below are a few fun things I found at Pottery Barn that are on sale since I didn’t have time to round them up before.  If you missed my last post I included all of my Memorial Day weekend sale picks from favorite stores.  Everything is marked down through today!  I was so happy to hear that my post was helpful from some of you.

Enjoy your week everyone!  I hope it’s off to a good start. :)

Weekend Sale Favorites!

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a good week!  I’m so grateful for the long weekend ahead.  We are limping across the finish line this school year.  We still have a week and a half left and without this little break I don’t know if we would make it.  Ha.  We need this long weekend to finish up end of school projects and rest from the craziness!  I also just love Memorial Day.  Such a special time to remember and honor those who have served our country.  I found these pics from Memorial Day weekend in 2013 and I remember my kids at that stage like it was 20 minutes ago.  This summer we will be doing some traveling to visit college options for Ellie.  One more year with her home.  Pass the tissues.. I seriously can’t believe it!

The sales are SO good this weekend and I’ve already ordered a couple of big items I’ve been patiently waiting to buy.  20% off at Mcgee & Co and I’m so excited about this Eileen coffee table!  It has been on my wishlist for a while.  I’ve been wanting a new coffee table for our family room for a couple of years and knew this was “the one” the second I saw it on-line.  I always wait for sales to purchase Mcgee & Co items because they are pricey, but I will say that everything I’ve ordered from them has become a favorite.  Here are a few other Mcgee favorites that I own and love..

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{mumbai rug}

My mudroom runner.  I still love this so much.  My dress was from the Nordstrom sale last year.. another great summer sale to look forward to!

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{malta woven wool rug}

The rug in our playroom is another favorite that has held up beautifully!  I wish I had more progress to share in this space but it looks pretty much the same.  I need to prioritize it but there are always so many other things on my to-do list!  Most of the other items in this space are also on sale!

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

My white terracotta jars are back in stock and I know these won’t last long so don’t wait if you want them!  I get asked about them all the time and they have been out of stock.  They come in two sizes – tall and short – and are up on the shelf over my range in this picture holding my favorite faux peonies.

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

This is the short jar holding eucalyptus on my gold tray.  Some of my decor I rotate but these jars are always on display somewhere!  They are great basics that are easy to style and always look good.

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{stetson table lamp}

Of course you all remember my stetson lamps!  LOVE them.

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{summer tablescape/dining room sources}

Thank you for helping me find them a permanent home. :)

Below are other favorites from McGee & Co!  I have and love most of these items and along with the coffee table I also ordered that cute clock!

McGee and Co (thesunnysideupblog.com)
1-arched mirror   2- bjork mirror  3- doormat

4- faux basil  5- woven wool rug   6- fern

7- cross hatch object  8- terracotta jar

9- mumbai rug   10- table lamp   11- coffee table

12- white lined pot  13- lilac stem   14- counter stool

15- wall clock  16- fiberstone planter

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{similar square black planters/faux lemon tree options herehereherehere/lemon tree baskets/another basket option/my rug/similar rug options hereherehere}

Remember my stunning trees from Home Depot?  WOW.  They were so gorgeous for about a month!

Now they’ve lost their blossoms and aren’t doing quite so hot.  The front is ok.. the backside of them (not getting any sun) is dying.  Plus they are SO high maintenance!  I’ve had to water them every day to keep them alive and the water is staining my flagstone.  Aside from that I’ve been dealing with such a mess on my porch every day!  I kept sweeping the dirt and then the next day dirt and leaves were all over my rug.  I finally got to the bottom of what was causing the mess and couldn’t believe it!

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Sweetest little bird nest full of new babies!  I found them like this so soon after being born.. you can see that one egg hadn’t even hatched yet!  I know you aren’t supposed to touch them or the mom can smell trouble and won’t come back so I’ve left them alone and just peek at them here and there.  We all crowd around Kenny’s office door (it’s to the side of our front porch) and watch the mom fly in and out all day feeding them.  Isn’t that the cutest thing ever!?  So these trees are staying put.  Once these babies can fly and are off on their own I will plant my trees but for now.. I don’t mind the mess and maintenance so much anymore. :)

I have decided though that once my trees are gone I’m ready for faux plants for this porch!  What do you think of these hydrangea potted plants from Frontgate?  I love the look.. I’m just wondering if I need something a little taller.  I linked some Frongate favorites below because everything is up to 40% off this weekend!

In other news.. my beautiful pink petal plates are back!

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

So is the cute petal cake stand that goes with them.  I used them on my Easter table last year and got so many questions about them but they had sold out.

Weekend Sale Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

These plates also make great decor when we aren’t using them!  They look so beautiful in a glass kitchen cabinet or stacked on a counter, open shelf or on a tray like I have them styled at the moment.  I ordered these beautiful petal dinner plates to go with them too!  (Mine are the salad plates.)  Below are other RP favorites that are in stock.  These items aren’t on sale, but I didn’t want to wait to share them because I know they will sell out!

Serena & Lily is also having a huge sale with 20% off of everything!  S & L is another store I always wait to shop on sale day.  Their pillows are so beautiful and amazing quality!  I’ve found that if I splurge on one or two really nice pillows I can fill in the rest of my couch with less expensive Target/Walmart/Amazon options and still get a high end look.  I linked my favorite S & L pillows below!  They are pretty much all navy. :)  Also how cute is that scallop tray and the lemon wallpaper!?

Colleen Rothschild is also having a huge Memorial Day sale!  You can find details on my skin routine in this post.  (The hair mask is GOLD!)

Pottery Barn also has some fun items on sale and I didn’t get my favorites rounded up from PB in time to share.. hopefully coming soon!  I also hope this post helps you navigate if you are shopping the sales this weekend.  Sometimes when so many fun things are marked down it’s hard to land on what you really want/need.

Kenny will be the first to tell you that I don’t have that problem at all.  Ha. ;)

Enjoy your weekend and if you are traveling drive safe!  We are celebrating Addison’s 15th birthday this weekend!  Other than that and some cleaning I’ll just be over here shopping sales on-line and watching our baby birds.

Sounds like a perfect weekend to me.

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Hello!  It has been a while since my last blog post and I’ve missed you all!  Can you believe that we are nearing the end of May!?  We are counting down to the last day of school around here (9 and 1/2 days left according to Kole.. don’t forget the half!) and I can’t believe it.  It’s strange because most schools just reopened in our neck of the woods so we were just getting in a good routine with going to school and now the year is ending!  It feels like it just started.  But it also feels like this has been the longest school year ever so we’re ready for summer.  Bring on slow mornings with no lunch prep! :)

I’m sharing some fun patriotic home decor ideas today!  Some years I’m more into patriotic decor than others and last year I was clearly feeling it.  Ha.  I haven’t done much with red, white and blue yet, but we aren’t traveling for Memorial Day weekend (it’s Addison’s birthday Sunday) so the stars and stripes might make an appearance!  I do love to get it up by the end of May if I can pull it off so that we can enjoy it for June and July.

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

My favorite burlap banners are back!  I know you’ve seen these before.. I’ve had them for years and they are still my favorite for patriotic decor!  I use them inside and outside.  Such a simple and fun way to add a little red, white and blue.

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

These patterned ceramic planters are also back in stock in blue.  Beautiful year round!  I usually add a simple flag to dress them up for the 4th.

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

I kept my entry simple last year with just a couple of favorite throws, a red pillow and my flag print on my console table.  It helps when the majority of your decor is already navy. :)

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{del mar cotton throw}

My beloved HOME pillow is back in stock in blue and I rounded up a few other cute red and blue options below.  I just ordered this fun indoor/outdoor pillow after looking for pillows to share.  This job is downright dangerous.

In the best way possible. :)

Hello burlap banner.  Always nice to see you again. :)

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

This cute flag lumbar pillow is also back in stock!

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

This room took an entire 20 minutes to decorate.  I rounded up all of the navy pillows and throws I had and then added a few simple patriotic touches.  So fun.  Now I want to decorate this room tomorrow.  Clear the schedule!  I’m mean do we really need groceries?  Kole can do his Hawaii state float without supplies and Addison can drive herself to her end of the year activities… right?  And Ellie’s dance team tryouts for her senior year.. we can bag that, can’t we?  So mom can decorate?

Like I originally said.. hoping to decorate by the end of May. ;)

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Last year I added another burlap banner and favorite 4th of July pics to my shiplap display wall.  I can’t wait to do this again!

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

So fun getting these pictures off of my computer and out where we can enjoy them!  If you don’t have a set place to display seasonal pictures like this try hanging them on ribbon as a banner in a window or on your fireplace mantel or going down your staircase banister.  Pictures make the best decor and are always my family’s favorite. :)

Patriotic Decor Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Below are a few pics of our patriotic decor in our outdoor area I’ve shared before.  So excited for backyard summer get togethers this year!

I hope these pictures gave you a few ideas of simple ways you can make your home feel festive for all of the patriotic holidays coming up!

It’s time for all of us to clear our schedules and decorate.  Bring on the burlap banners!  And get ready for some major red, white and blue.

Outdoor deck (Sunny Side Up)

{3-piece patio set}

Hello hello!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  I’m sharing some recent fashion favorites today, but before I do I wanted to let you know that this cute little patio set I put on our outdoor deck last summer is back in stock!  It sold out quickly last year and I kept getting questions about it so I wanted to mention that it’s back. :)

Outdoor deck (Sunny Side Up)

{best choice umbrella – on this deck/cantilever umbrella – around our pool/similar stripe rug}

Adding a little furniture set to our back upstairs deck last summer was so rewarding!  We’ve used our deck more this past year than we did in the 7 previous years we’ve lived in this house.  Our deck still looks like this other than the pillows are a little sun faded and minus the real flowers of course.  Those babies are long gone.  Ha.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

You can tell how much we’ve loved this space by Kole’s expression in the picture above.  Actually I don’t know what you can tell by Kole’s expression in the picture above.  Is he happy?  Sad?  Laughing?  Crying?  Trying not to spit out his drink?  Thinking his drink is too sour?  One of life’s mysteries we may never know.

What we do know is that it’s clearly time to move on to fashion.  (I really need to stop writing my posts after 11 pm..)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{picnic graphic tee/similar jeans here & here}

You all know my deep love for graphic tees and this strawberry tee that recently showed up on my doorstep is too cute for words!  I always want to put it on because it’s just happy.  Like a summer day.

I’ve been loving these cute slides and they are perfect with skirts, shorts, jeans, graphic tees.. any and everything.

They also work great with my every day purse that holds all the things so winning there. :)  *Purse organization details here.

{plant your love graphic tee/similar jeans here & here/reanna slide here & here}

This is the other graphic tee I recently ordered (I think I shared these in a collage a post or two back?).  Keeping real plants alive?  Not my thing.  Wearing plants on graphic tees?  Totally my thing. :)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{plant your love graphic tee/ag jeans/similar swift run sneaker}

I’ve already worn this twice this week!  Felt ok about it since I mixed up the jeans.  Ha.  Here are a few other Anthro graphic tees I’m pinning over below..

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{zella romper/flip flops}

As soon as our sun decides to peek out (so cool and cloudy lately!) I’ll be sporting my suit with this cute romper over it.  Just like a good graphic tee I’ve never met a black romper I didn’t love. :)  Zella is a go-to brand for me in the summer.  I really like their leggings, shorts, jackets, tanks, sports bras.  GOOD stuff for exercise and lounge wear.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{eyelet sleeve tee/zella live in joggers/slippers}

These are the Zella joggers I wear the most and they are back in stock!

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{crop henley/zella live in joggers/adidas swift run sneakers}

I have two pairs of them in black because I wear them so often and just ordered the grey.  I’ve shared this crop henley before but it’s another item that has been on repeat.

I linked all of my Zella favorites below.. most of these I own and love!

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve dress/flip flops}

This flutter sleeve dress is another fun and easy to slip on item for summer.  It comes in lots of colors/patterns and could be worn dressy with heels or casual with flip-flops.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve blouse/ag jeans/similar tory burch purse herehere}

I’ve always loved flutter sleeves!  This blouse is beautiful and I always get compliments on it when I wear it.  Like the flutter sleeve dress it also comes in other colors and patterns.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{moonlight dream pjs/slippers}

Do you have a “just got out of the shower” outfit?  Because I do and it’s these moonlight pjs. :)  They are so soft and comfy!  I always put them on when I get out of the shower while I get ready.  I’ve never liked going straight from the shower to my clothes.  Especially if I need to blow dry my hair.  Drying my hair is a process (which is why it usually happens only twice a week) and I like to be in something cool and comfy.  Obviously these are great summer pjs too but if you haven’t tried a “just got out of the shower” designated outfit to get ready in, I would highly recommend both the ritual and these pjs. :)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{stripe flutter sleeve top/similar madewell necklace/ag jeans/reanna slide here & here}

Loving this flutter sleeve top for summer!  It will be so cute with jean shorts too. (Still so cool and cloudy here!)

I wore it a couple of weeks ago with these white linen pants and felt so nautical.  I instantly thought of What About Bob.. “Ahoy!  I sail!  I’m a sailor!”  Ha. One of our favorites. :)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{flutter sleeve floral print/ag jeans/similar peep toe booties/similar tory burch purse here & here}

Floral tops are always fun this time of year and I almost didn’t order this because I don’t wear a lot of bright pink but I’m so glad I did!  It’s beautiful.

I love the neck tie and feminine sleeves.  It looks cute with a black pencil skirt too.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{daisy print tie front top/similar jeans here & here/paily heels here & here}

And last but not least is another recent favorite floral blouse.  You can adjust the neck tie on this.. so cute for summer!  It would look really good with white shorts too.  Fashion is so fun this time of year isn’t it!?

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Since I know you’re sick of seeing mirror selfies at this point (I certainly am!) I’ll share some pics from Mother’s Day I want to document.  It’s one gift my kids give me every year.. a picture with no complaining. :)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{gold lanterns/candles/mirror/basket/pink pillow/floral pillow}

I actually have one child who never complains about pictures.  As soon as we finished a family shot she asked if we could get a picture with just the two of us.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

“And can we shoot lots of different pics and see what we like best mom?  Then you should take some with just El and just Kole too!”

Addison is so like me that sometimes it’s scary.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

“Great idea Ad!  Kole.. you’re up next.  Come and get a picture with just me.”

I laughed out loud when I saw this pic.  His face tells it all!  I didn’t realize Kenny was snapping pics during our conversation.  He got everything on camera..

Not feeling another picture with mom AT ALL and just wants to get out of his church clothes.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I know your smile is in there bud.  It’s Mother’s Day.  You can do this.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Suddenly realizes this is a great opportunity to bribe mom.

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Recent Fashion Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Mutual smiles because we both got what we wanted.

And Ellie?  “Ellie.. Ellie.. my sweet 17 year old.. where are you?”

Poof!  Gone.  No chance of another picture.  Bribery isn’t even an option with that child.  Good thing I know she loves me. ;)

Motherhood!  It’s an adventure.

Every single day.

Summer updates

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

{chenille 3 piece duvet cover set/jute pouf ottomans/similar inhale & exhale prints}

Is it feeling like Summer where you live?  If you live on the coast in San Diego we have what’s lovingly known as “May Gray” and “June Gloom.”  May and June tend to be our cloudiest months and I have to work hard to not let it affect my mood!  I’m hoping it isn’t too bad overall this year, but this week has definitely been on the gloomy side.  To cheer myself up I brought a little sunshine inside this week with some simple summer updates. :)  I can’t wait to get my kids out of school and to have friends/guests over!  I got this fun duvet, pillows and poufs from Walmart and love the summer vibe they brought into our guest bedroom.  Walmart has so many cute options for summer decor right now.. inside and outside!  You’ve probably noticed that I always stick with white bedding in our bedrooms.  It’s hands down my favorite.  White duvets/comforters always look crisp and clean and then I can switch pillows and easily mix things up for different seasons.  These navy jute pouf ottomans are adorable!  A little small for this bedroom so they might end up in our outdoor area.  I’m always tweaking things and playing musical decor.. nothing new around here. :)

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

{chenille 3 piece duvet cover set/stripe pillow/trellis throw pillow}

When these two pink pillows showed up on my doorstep and I saw/felt them in person I immediately ordered two more in navy!  So soft and a great price.  I love the simple trellis pattern.  They come in lots of colors and are such great staples to layer with patterned pillows on a bed or couch.

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

Also loving these cute rattan lamps!  Honestly though.. I don’t think I’ve met anything rattan that I haven’t loved.  Ha.

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

I added this white glazed ceramic pot and a simple summer candle to the nightstand and just like that.. summer in the guest room. :)

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

I brought some simple summer vibes into our powder bath too!

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

Words can’t express my love for this little lemon bath mat.  It’s just ADORABLE.  I have a thing for lemons.  Did you know that?  My mom does too. :)  We’ve always loved them which is why I have lemons at the top of my blog.  I put lemon trees in my yard and nothing makes me happier than a bowl of lemons on my kitchen counter in the spring and summer.

Other than a lemon bath mat in my bathroom. :)   *Mom I bought one for you too!  But you have to come and visit to get it.  I’m tricky like that. ;)

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

{round woven tray/white glazed ceramic pot/summer candle}

This woven tray was perfect for my bathroom counter and instantly made it feel like summer!  This ceramic pot is the same pot on my guest bedroom nightstand, but the larger 8 inch size and the candle has lemons on it and ties in the bath mat.  Love it!

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

{paisley bath towels}

I have been so impressed with Better Homes & Gardens Walmart bath towels!  They are soft and extremely absorbent and such a great price.  We’ve been using and loving these diamond bath towels since December so I picked up this paisley set.  I still need to find a cute little hand towel to bring in the yellow in this room!

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

Last but not least I finally bought these fruit prints that I’ve loved on-line for over a year!  I’ll show you what I’m going do with them as soon as I figure that out!  But it will be cute.. and summery. :)

Summer Updates (Sunny Side Up)

{favorite fruit dip here}

In other fun summer news my favorite divided server plate is back in stock!  This was my most used kitchen item last summer.  I try to toss fruit/veggies on it in the morning so my kids have healthy snacks to grab throughout the day.  It makes me feel better about all of the ice cream, popsicles and candy we eat in the summer.

If you’re a mom who wouldn’t mind easing summer food guilt too, give it a try. ;)

Other Walmart favorites for living room, kitchen and outdoor are linked below!  I found so many CUTE things!  Now I just need our sun to reappear and we’ll be set.

Bring on the lemons.

Spring/Summer Tablescape

*affiliate links used

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

We all survived another week!  YEA.  And it’s Mother’s Day weekend!  I hope you have something fun and/or relaxing planned!  I’m planning on sleeping in (fingers crossed until at least 8 am!) so I’m a happy camper. :)  This pic was taken on Mother’s Day last year.  I’m so grateful for these 3 today and every day.  I landed on this old Mother’s Day post a few weeks ago and it made me smile.  It also made me feel really proud of myself for surviving all the years when my 3 were little!  If you are in that stage of motherhood with young kids I have deep respect.  You are doing amazing.  Take it one day at a time. :)  Two years ago on Mother’s Day I wrote a post titled 10 Habits of Happy Moms.  I wanted to link to it again in case you are a mom who is struggling right now (we’ve all been there).  I’m certainly no expert on parenting!  These are just things that have helped me enjoy motherhood (and life in general!) over the years.

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

{wall mirror/similar olive tree here & here/wool jute rug/similar lights}

Aside from sleeping in, I’m so happy that I’m not cooking this weekend.  Double score!  Always my #1 wish on Mother’s Day.  I do have a pretty table set up though!  You know.. for my take out. ;)

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

{sunken treasure canvas}

On a quick sidenote.. my new lamps are loving their new home in the dining room.  Thanks for helping with that little decision

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

I wanted to set up something fun that would work for Spring/Summer get togethers.  I can’t wait to entertain again this summer!  It’s always so fun to have people over.. even if it’s just a few girlfriends for a quick lunch!

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

{large gold planter/small gold planter/faux pink peonies}

I fell hard for these gold planters and love that they come in two sizes!  I put some faux pink peonies in the small planter for my living room mantel (shared that in my last post).  I loved the look so much I did the same thing for my dining room table.  You could obviously get this same look with real flowers too.  Any flowers would be pretty!  I love faux flowers because I can leave this up for months!  When we aren’t entertaining the dining room looks pretty to walk by and I don’t have to worry about watering/killing/replacing the flowers.

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

But my favorite part of this tablescape?  Aside from the fact that I don’t have to keep flowers alive?  These jute chargers!  Aren’t they so fun for summer!?  I absolutely love them and they were such a good deal!  I’ve seen so many similar pricey options and kept hunting for the same look for less.  Target for the win once again!  It was a happy day when I landed on these on-line.  (The plates were from PB but sold out.)

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

The beautiful glasses and gold flatware from Amazon are icing on the cake!

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

Spring/Summer Tablescape (Sunny Side Up)

These pretty pink pillows have been making the rounds in my house.  They work well in every room and I’m tempted to pick up another set!

The only thing stopping me is my pillow closet.  I’ve been organizing ALL the pillows around here and it’s causing a serious pause on my growing collection.  I’m going to have to donate a few more before I’m allowed to buy a few more.

At least I can admit I have a problem.  #pillowsarelife   #cantstopwontstop

I might need to clear out a few more cupboards. ;)

Spring Living Room

Spring Living Room (Sunny Side Up)

I hope you’re having a good week so far!  I can definitely tell it’s May because our family calendar is full.  We have more activity going on this month than we’ve had in a year.  Ha!  Are there any other moms out there feeling it?  There’s always so much to wrap up when a school year is ending.  I do love it though.  Lots of celebrating and checking things off the list with the promise of slow summer days in the future.  Plus it feels good to be busy again!  I don’t know how you feel but 2020 gave our family enough down time to last for a while. ;)

Spring Living Room (Sunny Side Up)

I’m sharing a few pics of my living room at the moment!  I added some simple Spring touches but I still want to re-style my shelves.  I was going to wait until I had done that to take some pictures, but after looking at our calendar I decided I better just share a few pics now or it will be time for Fall decor before I get around to shelf styling.  Who cares about pink flowers when it’s time to talk orange pumpkins!?  So here is my living room at the moment with shelves that still need some tweaking. :)

Spring Living Room (Sunny Side Up)

Really I just wanted to share my Spring mantel because it makes me happy and was so easy to style!

Spring Living Room (Sunny Side Up)

Candlesticks are one of those items that I use in my decor all year long.  They work with every season for mantles and tables.  I’ve had this wooden set for a while and linked some other fun options below.  Next to my candlesticks I put some of my favorite faux peonies in this cute little gold planter vase and then I ordered this beautiful floral print on-line.  You can buy this print already framed, but it cost more plus I wanted a thin wooden frame so I did a little hunting and found this inexpensive poster frame with the exact look I wanted.  Target.. I knew I loved you. :)

This is similar to what I did this year on my family room console table.  Adding a pretty floral print in a frame is such an easy and inexpensive way to bring Spring/Summer vibes into your home!

Spring in the living room!  All sources are at the end of this post.  Our weather is warming up and flowers are blooming and life is feeling more and more normal every week.  I’ll take it. :)

In other not so important news.. I had a happy Target run and got some cute things for the house!  I’ll share what I’m doing with everything in posts to come, but a lot of times the best items sell out so I rounded up what I bought and some other McGee/Target favorites below.  See the little Target sack in the back of my car?  That is what I went for and actually needed (hand soap, deodorant, etc.). I had to laugh walking out of the store with my cart full of decor.  Target is a dangerous place to hang out!

For some of us more than others. ;)

{santorini urn/similar faux cherry blossoms}

Happy Friday!  It’s April 30th and my dad’s 75th birthday today!  Which means it’s going to be a great day. :)  (I love you dad!)  Really I can’t believe that we are at the end of April!  I feel like I just shared my March Amazon Buys with you all last week.  This time of year gets busy and always flies by so quickly doesn’t it!?  Today I’ve got a quick round up of the things we ordered from Amazon this month.  It’s so fun prepping these posts.. I just pull up my monthly Amazon order to remember what we’ve ordered and then I give you a little peek even further inside of our lives.  Ha.  Whether it’s sharing what the inside of my cupboards and drawers look like or what we ordered on Amazon for the month.. there is pretty much no mystery left around here now.  You know it all!  So funny because when I meet people in real life who read my blog I immediately want to say.. “so.. tell me about YOU!”  It always feels a little one sided.  I want to peek inside your drawers and see what you ordered on Amazon for the month of April.  Then we’ll really be besties. ;)

{screen mom screen cleaner/weiman quartz & stone countertop cleaner}

Ok.. first up are some tried and true favorites that were running out!  We love screen mom to clean all of our screens – computers/tv.. it works so well!  I use Weiman quartz countertop cleaner to really make my kitchen counters shine and LOVE it.  I also love Myers counter sprays (these are my favorite Spring scents!) and I usually rotate between that and this quartz cleaner.

{comb cleaner brush}

I bought my girls this comb cleaner brush for Christmas (put one in each of their stockings) and they are so great at getting hair out of brushes I just ordered one for me!  The bristles really dig in and get the hair out quickly.  We have thick hair at our house and need to clean out our brushes often so this is a new staple!

I also picked up a few more of our favorite summer towels for our coat rack turned pool towel holder.  Getting ready for pool days!  YEA.

April Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

This coat rack was definitely one of my favorite Amazon purchases of last year.  I still love this solution for pool towels!  It just works so well for us.  It’s in stock and almost half off!

April Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

A reader sent me this picture and it just made my day.  So clever!  Use this rack for pool towels and swimsuits in the summer and then snow clothes and boots in the winter!  I also love how she put two side by side for more storage.

April Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

Nothing like warm days and kids who actually hang up their pool towels.  It’s the little things. :)

April Amazon Buys (Sunny Side Up)

I’ve shared this battery organizer before but had to order another one for my main floor laundry room.  You might remember in my “before” pictures.. it was such a mess!  I had a lot more batteries than I realized and just kept buying them because the drawers were so messy I couldn’t tell!  Can’t wait to show you that little makeover next month. :)

I also picked up the latest Dog Man book for Kole.  The obsession continues. :)

A few other purchases linked below include some pretty pink glasses (they are so beautiful and I’ll share them styled soon!), a couple of makeup bags I’m trying out, some summer shorts and the cutest mini backpack for Ad!  She wanted something smaller than her regular backpack to take to after school activities.  It comes in so many cute colors!  I also picked up more duster for our keyboards.  Exciting stuff. :)
