A few weeks ago I freshened our living room up with a few small changes and I have been loving how bright and crisp and clean this space feels for summer!

I think the first thing we would chat about are these beautiful new pillows! This room can sometimes feel busy to me because I have a lot of accessories on the shelves and a lot going on in the pictures in the gallery wall so I absolutely love the way the simplicity of these pillows calms things down and brings everything together.
They are from Lauren at LO HOME and are amazing quality and so beautiful in person! Plus Lauren is just the sweetest and I’ve loved getting to know her. She reached out to me about doing an IG post, but I just had to share her fun website with you all here on the blog too because I honestly love her style and decor so much and know I’ll be ordering more from her in the future. She set up a page of my favorite pillows and throws I chose for my living room (they come in so many different fun colors!) but she also sells furniture and accessories. I have my eye on some cute new ginger jars she just got in and I love her lamps! But I have to tell you what I’m beyond impressed with are her pillow inserts! Oh my word! Seriously the softest pillow inserts ever! I’m going to be using them for all of my pillow covers when I switch things up for different seasons because the quality is amazing. Although I have to say I’m in no rush to switch out these beautiful pillow covers!
Still loving navy and coral.. and I added a fun pop of pink for summer!
I also added a couple of cute tassel pillows to my chairs and love my new throws!
I have been looking for a larger tray for my coffee table for a while and finally found this silver lacquer tray.
I love that it gives me more room for accessories. A favorite flower book for me and my husband’s Harley book underneath. A little bit of both of us on the table. ;)
I got this cute white glass box from LO HOME also but it looks like it has sold out! Hopefully it will be back in stock soon.. so cute for a great price!
I switched a few things around on my shelves. Funny how such simple changes – new pillows and mixing up accessories can make you feel like you have a whole new space.
Tulips are a Home Goods find and the coral brings in the beach for summer! We’ll ignore the fact that I still have my O Holy Night Christmas sign up behind them. Guess I’m trying to bring ALL the seasons into this room. Or I’m just too lazy to find something else to put there. Verdict is still out on that one.

Always a good thing to mix up our surroundings and re-decorate every once in a while. It just breathes new life into a space! And is kinda fun.. so there’s that. :)

Wow, I LOVE it! I love how you stick with the same few accessory colours throughout your home but you always seem to make them look fresh and new. I would love to know…do you regularly use this room? If so, who uses it and what for? I imagine curling up on that sofa with a book for a quiet moment would be heaven – if you ever had a moment to stop?! xx
Thank you so much Sue! I do just move things around and mix them up often! And yes.. we do use this room! Not as much as our family room, but like you said.. it’s a perfect quiet spot for reading! My kids read on that couch a lot and I would too if I ever had time. ;) We also use the room when people come over to just visit or if my family is visiting a lot of times my husband and dad are watching TV in the family room so my mom and the girls go in this living room to hang out. :)

How do you keep your sofa and chairs clean? I love the color and they look so beautiful, but I don’t know how long mine would stay looking like that.
The sofa in this room has a performance fabric on it that wipes so clean! But our family room furniture is showing more because those are the couches/chairs we live on. This room we don’t spend as much time in. :)

Just a couple of questions though:
Do you ever wish there were doors on your living room? (Maybe fold back style ones?) I don’t think I could relax knowing that if the front door opened people would see me lounging!
Also, whats to the left and right of your gallery wall? In one of these photos you can see a door on the right and the space is much deeper than I thought when you first shared photos of this room.
Hi Lisa! Thank you! No! We don’t need doors.. that’s the reason we put this room here.. it’s not our main hang out room (our kitchen/family room is) and we didn’t want our front door to open up to our kitchen/family room so we put in this formal living room. It always looks nice when people come to the door! We use it for reading and when people come to visit, but it’s not where we lounge and hang out. :)
