A new sign and progress made

office-craft-room-decor
I have something new in my office.  And I’m really excited about it.  When I’m really excited about something I always want to tell all of you.  My blog friends.  So let’s do that now, shall we?  :)  You might remember from when I shared pictures of my decorated office that I had my anniversary date sign displayed on my shelves.  Love that sign!

Love it so much that I used it to decorate my entry table for Fall.

And then again when I decorated my entry table for Easter.  After Easter I moved the sign back into my office, but having our wedding date displayed didn’t feel very office-y.    So it went back to the entry table and may ultimately end up in our master bedroom.  Because to me, a wedding date feels more bedroom-y.

Am I making sense?  No?  Let’s carry on anyway.

I wanted something for my office that felt right.  Something that fit with all of the other decor I had in that space.  So I reached out to a talented friend I’ve made on IG who makes signs.  Her name is Kristy and she has an etsy shop called The Painted Nest.  We brainstormed what might work in my office and she suggested one of her vintage flashcards.  LOVED that idea.  She asked what letter and word I wanted to put on the sign.

My office is a special room where I spend a lot of my time every day.  It had to be something personal.  Hmmm.. what means something to me?

Didn’t take long to decide.  :)  Isn’t it fun!?  I just couldn’t love it more.

This is the room I blog in.  This is the room my kids create in.  It’s my happy place.  And now it’s even happier.

Aside from the personal meaning behind the sign, I love the way it ties in with the school house feel of my craft room.

Pretty much made for this space, right?  Keep your Sunny Side Up.

Don’t mind if I do.  :)

Kristy can make any type of custom sign saying anything you want!  I gave her the exact measurements for this sign and I have to say that it looks even better in person than I expected.  Beautiful and large and great quality.  She’s currently working on something fun for my family room that I can’t wait for her to finish!  Of course I’ll be excited about it.  So of course I’ll want to tell all of you. :)  You can see Kristy’s shop on etsy here or follow her on IG here to see all of her fun signs or to have something special made just for you.  Or to buy a Sunny Side Up vintage flash card and we can twin.  According to my pre-teen daughters, “twinning” is cool.

In other news..

closet-organization
After finally getting my jewelry organized and displayed so nicely in my bathroom, I decided to tackle my closet.  It is such an overwhelming project to me so I am breaking the de-cluttering and organizing down into small chunks.  This is all that is going to Goodwill after I tackeled chunk 1 of 384.

I’m not kidding.  It’s that bad.  But I’m feeling lighter already after round 1!  And hopefully I’ll have more to share soon.  Possibly an empty closet.

;)

xoxo, Erin

  1. Ooh, that is such a perfect sign for that fun room and your sunny personality! Thanks for sharing. Also, huge congrats for tackling the closet. Looks like you are on to an awesome start. Hope you still have some clothes to wear when you are all done. ;)

    1. Thanks Jeanne! Seriously! I am in such a purging mode I’m wondering if I’ll have much left of my house by the time I’m finished.. ha! ;) Have a good Wednesday! xo

  2. Wow — great sign and so PERFECT for you and the office! I need to work on my closet, but mowing the lawn is calling my name first! :) Have a great day!

    1. Thanks Janet! Oh there’s nothing like the smell of freshly cut grass in the spring and summertime! Enjoy mowing! I used to love that chore when I was growing up. :) xo

  3. Love the new sign, Erin!! It’s so you:)) And I just love your office too…it’s one happy (or should I say Sunny) place!

  4. I wish I lived next to your Goodwill! If you go to ThredUp.com and request a bag, they’ll send you one free to donate your used clothes. They’ll keep what they can sell (and you earn $ of course) and donate the rest for free. It’s very easy so to me it’s a no-brainer. Looks like you have a lot of items!

  5. I am loving that sign! I want to make one for my office with my blog name, it is a very office-y thing to have in there. Like you, I cleaned out my closet and it was a ton of work but soooo worth it! I donated a lot of clothes and now have clothes I actually wear in my closet. Which is always good to have.

    1. Thanks Emily! So glad you think it’s office-y too. Ha! :) YEA for cleaning out your closet! I’m hoping this weekend I have some motivation to finish what I started! Such a good feeling to have a project like that done! xo
