I hope you’re enjoying the weekend! I’m sharing my master bedroom Christmas decor today! It’s pretty much decorated the same as last year other than a few things. Well.. mostly one major thing. Can you spot the difference? :)

I used all green in this space again and decorated my beloved flocked tree with my wooden bead garland and a variety of green ball ornaments. I always like to keep this tree simple because when the lights are on it shines on its own!

Speaking of shining.. I got a new bed! Did you notice the change!? I actually got this in September and can’t believe I haven’t shared the update yet. Kenny and I celebrated 25 years of marriage this Fall and he really wanted to get me a new wedding ring. My original ring is small and not the nicest of diamonds (we were so broke when we got married!). He has wanted to replace my wedding ring for years and I won’t let him. I’m very sentimental about my original ring – takes me right back to when we met and fell in love! Plus I’m just not that into fancy jewelry. Give me a Madewell necklace and I’m good to go. Ha. So when he tried to take me ring shopping for our 25th anniversary I told him thank you for wanting to spoil me that way BUT if he really wanted to make me smile.. there was this bed I had been eyeing. :) I got what I really wanted and he saved a chunk of change so it was a win for everyone! My friends think I’m crazy but LOOK at this canopy bed! I’m in love! This room has always been a struggle for me to decorate because the ceilings are so high. I kept buying large art to put over our bed to fill in the space, but something always looked off to me. This room needed a canopy bed! (If you have tall ceilings consider a bed like this!) It fills up the empty space so nicely and now all feels right when I walk into my bedroom.

Now it will be EASY to find something to put over our bed. Smaller items work great in the space between the metal frames. Items like my beloved hoop wreath for the holidays!

What do you think? Are you team new bed or new diamond ring? Ha ha.. I might be a party of one on this debate but I have zero regrets!

My Amazon lamps and mirrors work great and I love the black in this space! Everything feels grounded now. Decor is simple on Kenny’s side of the bed. An oldie but goodie pic of us from around 25 years ago :) and my black reindeer looking as regal as ever.

I added more of my favorite pine trees on my white console table and a wooden bowl of green ornaments. This was the table that used to be in my entry. I’d love to move this upstairs and get something different for this space that fits the new vibe with my canopy bed. Maybe for my 26th anniversary?

I’ve had this garland for years and it really shines at night because of all of the lights attached. They discontinued it and I was so bummed because it’s GOOD! The little flocked trees are favorites I’ve had for years and also light up beautifully at night!

And after! Do you agree? One simple change made such a difference! So much better for this space. I hope you enjoyed the tour of my Christmas bedroom! It’s the perfect spot to retreat this time of year. Addison and I especially love escaping to this room when a football game is on in the family room. We bring in treats, turn on all of the sparkly lights and pick out a Christmas movie. If you need me the week after Christmas this is where you’ll find me! Can’t wait.

I have a few small changes I want to make in this space in the new year. My canopy bed inspired all sorts of ideas! Do you have decorating or renovating plans for the new year? I’m excited for new projects! It’s my favorite thing to dream about while I’m watching Christmas movies over the holiday break.

I hope you’re enjoying the weekend! December madness and all. :) I’ve rounded up some fun gift ideas but wanted to also share these pics I took yesterday of my cozy kitchen window at night! Always a favorite spot right around 5 pm when it gets dark and these lights click on. I added these fun mercury votive holders to each side of my window this year and put in more of my timer tea lights. My timer lights are in the houses too and the birch trees come with a timer option.. so convenient!

I also added some of my favorite fairy lights in random spots like around my oatmeal canisters. These twinkle lights are great to add a little sparkle all over the house. I use them in my garland all the time too! I’ve tried a few different types and these are my favorite because of the glow they give off and how easy they are to use/wrap around things. You just click them on and off (they have a little battery pack) so they are the only things I manually turn on in the evening.

When the Santa pictures are up on our shiplap display wall it’s officially Christmas at our house! I’m sharing our Christmas mudroom, Santa wall and stairs today. A fun little section of our house that gets the most day to day traffic!

For years I used our shiplap display wall to display Christmas cards from family and friends but a few years ago I started using this wall to display our Santa pics.

I snapped this up close with my phone. We’ve taken a picture with Santa every year since Ellie was one! A little tradition I can’t quit because I love these pics so much. I watch my kids grow up right in front of my eyes on this wall every year! I try to create some sort of Christmas tree shape but it’s a little tricky because each year the configuration changes when we add a new picture. This year I started with the oldest pic on the bottom and made it the trunk. :)

Some of my favorites.. Addison wouldn’t stop crying so I gave her a bagel trying to distract her but she just cried harder with bread in her mouth. Ha. In 2010 we added our little buddy. That might be my favorite pic of all because I love the way Ellie is watching him. She was so excited to introduce Kole to Santa! I remember that day like it was yesterday.

The Covid pic! A year to remember. I’m so glad we documented it with kids sitting on a bench 10 feet in front of Santa. Ha. Then last year.. my babies are looking so grown up. They humor me getting this picture taken every year because they know how much it means to me. I have a list of items to quickly grab if we ever have to evacuate for a fire and the Santa pics are my #1 item!

Across from the Santa pics are the stairs and I didn’t do much with them this year. I decorated them very last and was out of garland and out of energy. Ha. I just combined what was left of my favorite two garlands, added a little ribbon and done. (Didn’t even get to the top staircase!) I have some fun ideas for these stairs for next year. I’ll decorate them first and show them a little more love. :)

Keep heading down the hall past our Santa pictures and you hit the mudroom! I added these cute pine hoop wreaths to each locker with a simple command hook. Looks so fun and festive! This woven jute runner is beautiful! Soft to walk on and I love how much it warms up this space.

I added more of my favorite feathery pine trees in this corner (they are also on sale!) and my winter tree linen scroll on the wall. Various shades of green? Absolutely.

I snapped this pic with my phone at night. Sometimes it’s easier to see at night in photos because this room gets a lot of light from different angles making it look shadowy in day time pictures. More garland over the doors! No wonder I ran out when I got to my stairs. :)

This picture is from last year. I used painters tape to put up our Christmas cards on these door frames and I’ll probably do the same thing this year.

There are three door frame options in this space so I have room to move to other doors if one fills up! I love having our holiday cards in this room because the garage door is right off of our mudroom so the second you walk into our house from the garage you see them all. Such a happy sight to walk into each day! I can’t wait until cards start coming in the mail. December is the one month of the year I volunteer to get our mail.. Kenny is on mail duty January through November when it’s mostly bills and junk. ;)
