Happy Monday! I hope you are enjoying the long weekend! (If you missed my Labor Day Sales post you can find it here.. sales are still going through today!) I recently shared a few pops of fall I added to my kitchen and today I’m continuing with my family room. I’m especially excited about the pillows I’m using this year because they instantly brought fall into my home and made it feel so cozy! I played around with lots of different pillow combos and these were my favorites. :)
If you want your throw pillows to really add the cozy factor in your home pay attention to texture! I love pillows with extra texture and I love browns in the fall. This linen pillow is stunning in person! So is the embroidery on the floral pillow. I love that it adds small pops of gold and cream and blue. A perfect fall accent!
The gold/cream throw is lightweight and also adds texture with its stripe pattern and fringes. So good for the price. Speaking of price, my rattan side table is on sale for the lowest price I’ve seen it! Pretty much everything everywhere is on sale right now.. ha.
I decided to bring in greens for fall this year for two reasons. One.. I can never get enough green. But you already knew that. :) Two.. the greens will transition so smoothly into Christmas! I could not love this floral quilted throw more! So stunning and I love it paired with the stripe lumbar.
Behind my couch I have my faux bundle in a vase. Talk about easy decorating! It’s all put together for you so you just set it in a vase and walk away! Brilliant and beautiful for fall. :)
I added another linen throw on the other end of my couch in green and paired it with this fun large striped throw pillow. You can’t really see the beautiful textures going on in these pictures. You’ll have to trust me! Or just come over to visit. :)
Once I added these pillows to the couch my family room instantly took on a new life. It’s crazy how a few throw pillows can completely transform a space isn’t it!? I’m a fan. :)
I continued the greens in this corner with a chenille pillow that is also gorgeous and perfect for Christmas! I’m also loving these two throws. The almond throw is thick and heavy while the green plaid is lightweight. We’re now set for a wide range of fall temps! Which for us is basically 70-75 degrees.. ha.
Our coffee table is ready for fall too! I kept decor really simple this year on my table with just a few larger items. Half of my coffee table decor gets set on the floor every night when my family invades this space. We use this table for laptops, homework, board games, books, drinks and snacks. I decided to make it easy for me to put it back together each morning by keeping the decor at a minimum. I’m tricky like that. :)
Fall decor you are my favorite!
Until it’s time for Christmas decor when you become a very close second.
Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope you’re all able to relax a little over the next few days! I have a lot on my to-do list, but also plan on enjoying dinner with friends, walks with Kenny, movies/swimming with my kids and a little on-line shopping. :) Some of the best sales of the year are this weekend and I’m in trouble after going through everything to share favorites with all of you. SO MANY FUN THINGS on sale! I’m going to have to do some serious on-line cart editing before I hit purchase. Good thing football has started so my husband is in an especially good mood. ;)
Ok.. very excited that my beloved minka textured pot is on sale! I don’t think I’ve seen it on sale ever before. Have you!? Such a good price! This vase comes in several sizes (this is the medium). It’s so beautiful for every occasion. Summer..
This is the large size in my Christmas entry from last year. That gorgeous texture will always be a favorite in my home! I have the smallest size too. Obviously a fan. :) Below are more anthro favorites on sale!
Colleen Rothschild is having a major sale this weekend too! I love her skin products and always stock up during sales. Above and below are my tried and true favorites! On a side note.. I’m still loving my little counter organizer. :)
Serena & Lily has up to 40% off of everything! Such a good time to look at furniture and favorites from their store. It’s really the best sale of the year there. I love the pillows below for fall and want that beautiful vase they just got in!
So many great deals at Mcgee & Co this weekend! Up to 25% off site wide! The items above I either have in my house or want in my house. :) I also rounded up some good deals at Lululemon right now because I’ve been on the hunt for new align pants. They have become my favorites for exercise!
If you’re shopping sales this weekend I hope this post was helpful! Enjoy your day and I’ll be back soon with more ideas for FALL. Love this time of year. :)
I have a fun fall gift idea for you today! Remember my all time favorite fall hand soap? It’s pumpkin & sweet vanilla and I couldn’t love it more! It will look beautiful in your home (such a pretty bottle and label!) and it smells amazing. I always buy extra because it makes a perfect fall gift! (On sale this weekend so it’s a great time to stock up.. it sells out quickly every year!)
I wanted some cute fall gift tags to use over the next couple of months so I designed these and added them to my printable library. Just simple tags that say “happy fall” and “thankful for you.” Perfect to give to a teacher or friend or anyone who might enjoy a little fall pick me up. :) They are free to subscribers! You can find them HERE. If you’re already on my e-mail list just enter your information again (it won’t add you twice) and you’ll get instant access to all of my printables. Fall gift tags included. I hope you enjoy them!
I’m pairing my fall hand soap with these waffle dishcloths and this pumpkin brown kitchen towel set. I love the colors.. all so fun for fall! Just an idea! You can pair the soap with one or the other or both.. or just give the soap on its own.
When I’m thinking about gifts for others I always ask myself “what would I be excited about?” This gift helps make your home beautiful, clean and smelling oh so good. Total win in my book. ;)
Happy almost September everyone! We are back in a routine this week and it feels so good! We had a busy August and I’m due for a life catch up/photo dump at some point. All good things, but it has just felt like I’ve been running for a month and now I’m ready to walk. Actually I’m ready for a nice STROLL. Ha! September is truly one of my favorite months of the year. It’s always the month we settle back into a good school/work/life routine and I love the calm rhythm that comes with it. Football starts and we start welcoming fall! I’ve been adding fall decor here and there and just love how cozy it makes everything feel.
I really didn’t do too much in my kitchen but small changes make a big difference don’t they!? I took my lemons out of this rattan bowl and added some pinecones and just like that.. good-bye summer and hello fall. :)
I also added a pretty leaf arrangement and some art on the shelf above my stove. I’m a sucker for all of the true fall colors! Deep oranges, yellows and reds.. I love bringing fall colors into my home.
These dried flowers are perfect for fall too and so easy to arrange in a vase or bowl! They are a little messy to style, but they stay put and don’t drop once you are done and I love the look! I’m also loving this little salt & pepper holder for easy use when I’m cooking (I actually cook a little in the fall) and this candle holder! If you only buy one thing this fall let it be this pumpkin spice pumpkin candle. Aside from being adorable (right!?) it’s my all time favorite candle scent! So good! I look forward to having this scent in my home all year. Kenny and my kids love it too. Antho also has this cute wooden acorn candle. I love it too! It’s just a different scent and the pumpkin spice scent is best in my opinion. :)
I was playing around with a few different arrangements for my island and decided to just photograph them all to give you some ideas! Here is a fun option with this wooden lazy susan. These stems are a great price and come in a bundle. I’m using 3 bundles for this arrangement and the stems don’t even go down half way in this vase! The branches are so full it was easy to get them to stay put. The vase is a favorite (I love the shape) and it’s on sale at the moment!
Add a candle or some mini bowls in fun fall colors to complete the look. :)
I pulled this vase and branches in from my master bedroom to try and love it on a woven tray. My Celia woven trays are sold out at the moment so I linked a few other fun options below. Rattan trays always work so well in the fall with their beautiful texture!
A pretty little bowl with acorns is always a nice touch in the fall too. Especially when the acorns are from your dad’s tree and collected by the grandkids for some change. ;) I’ve used faux acorns in bowls too and they always work great! I linked the two faux options I like best. :)
You know how I feel about green.. these vases just sort of hopped into my on-line cart! I love the ribbed look and they will be pretty for Christmas too. These stems are so realistic and a crazy great price! I just used 6 stems in the tall vase.
Oh hello little pumpkin. You look cute there too. :)
Another fun option! Love this tall vase next to candlesticks. It’s so pretty, but I wasn’t feeling it as much in my kitchen so I moved it to another spot (perfect for a console table!). I love these spiral candles for fall! (Obviously don’t light them next to branches.. ha.) These faux branches look lighter in this lighting and spread out.
Here is a pic of the same branches in my kitchen last year. Don’t be afraid to manipulate and bend faux stems! I had the stems of these branches coiled up to fit in this shorter vase for a totally different look. Make your branches work for you! That’s why I love all things faux. :)
Alright friends.. do something you enjoy today for even just 20 minutes! Read/listen to a good book, go on a walk, or pull out your fall branches and start decorating.
I give you permission to do all 3 of the above! And to buy the cute little wooden pumpkin. You deserve it. ;)
Happy Friday! I hope you’re doing well! It felt like we had a million random things going on this week. So busy. I’m looking forward to the weekend so that I can catch my breath! Also so that I can finish decorating. My house is a fall explosion at the moment. Ha. I have so many fun things to share! If only I didn’t need to sleep.. that would solve a lot of problems. Do you ever feel that way!? :)
Sidenote: Aren’t these pumpkin chargers the cutest!? I think so too. :)
I’m sharing some fun fall porch ideas today! This was last year’s porch decor and I think I’ll do something similar this fall because I want to use my lighted maple trees again. So excited to pull them out and to see pumpkins popping up in stores!
The year before I went a slightly different direction. My fall porch was simple and GREEN. Not quite as traditional but I absolutely loved the change!
I use stools some years to add variety in the height of my pumpkins. :)
Combining different shades of the same color is always a decorating win! Especially when the color is green. ;) Some hanging witch hats would be cute with this set up too right!?
One year I used more whites and purples and loved that look for fall. So many fun options this time of year!
So is writing a cute Halloween message on a chalkboard! Cobwebs are easy to draw so I recommend sticking with them if you aren’t an artist like me. Ha.
I’ve never met a stripe I didn’t like. Did you know that? Especially in the fall. :)
I hope these porch pictures gave you a few ideas! It’s always so fun to get creative with outdoor holiday decor. I rounded up more fun options below! Faux trees, mums, lanterns, wreaths, mats and bats. My favorites for a spooky (or not so spooky) fall porch. :) Happy decorating whenever you choose to start!
Well hello! I hope you are doing well and enjoying August! We are back to school at our house! These two started Tuesday. Last year of middle school for Kole and last year of high school for Ad! My first day of school tears started earlier at breakfast instead of my usual after drop off. Another year! Time is a thief and I need this whole kids growing up thing to STOP immediately. I know a few of you can relate. :)
We’ve been attempting to get back in a routine this week which I’m actually so excited about. I love lazy summer days, but always by about mid August I’m itching to get back on a schedule! A new school year always feels like a fresh start and I love setting goals and making plans. I always start prioritizing exercise again and I love organizing and getting my house back in order. It’s basically my January! In January when everyone else is setting goals and exercising I just want to curl up in pjs and watch movies and recover from the holidays. Ha.
Today I’m celebrating a small win. My shoes are finally organized! You might remember this “before” of my dresses. They are next to my shoes and for years this little section of my closet has been such a hot spot for me. Actually my whole closet is a hot spot but the rest is a story for another day. I’m working on one section at a time over here. :)
I added these lovely shoe shelves in our closet when we built our home, but the issue for me in this space isn’t that I don’t have a great place for my shoes. The issue is that I have too many shoes. That’s usually the issue when we can’t stay organized! TOO MUCH STUFF.
For years many of my shoes have just been living on my floor. While shoes and clothes clearly spark joy for me, this messy situation does not!
I took all of my shoes off and cleaned each shelf.
Then I went through every pair of shoes. By the time I finished I had a huge pile to donate. Felt so good!
I started putting the shoes I wanted to keep back on my shelves. The floppy state of my boots has always bothered me and for a while I tried putting magazines inside each one. That never worked great and I eventually went back to floppy boots.
Until I found these boot shapers! I bought a few different options to try (they come in 4 sizes) and then ordered more of what I needed of each size. I used the 14 inch size for most of my boots!
You just fold them in half and slide them inside your boots! So cool.
They are supposed to stick up out of the boot like this so that you can put your finger in the cut out circle to pull them out.
I prefer to not see the boot shaper so I put mine down inside. They are just as easy to pull out this way!
This shelf BEFORE..
and AFTER! I put some boots folded over in half on a lower shelf and used the boot shapers on the tall bottom shelf. Boots are my favorite. Clearly. :)
Another BEFORE..
and AFTER. So much better right!? I used a couple of the 10 inch shapers for my shorter boots.
I just laid my sandals and mules side ways to take up less space on a top shelf.
Sneakers towards the top. I keep my every day sneakers in my mudroom drawer.
Done and done. Feels so good! Really the main work was just choosing shoes I don’t wear as often to donate. I bought a few new pairs of shoes during the N sale and made myself donate a few more older shoes to make room for them! I can’t have more shoes than I have room for on these shelves. That’s my new rule! It feels so good to have them up off the floor. Seeing a pic of my shoes like this made me realize that they are all so similar! I’m a neutral girl at heart. :)
I shared my organized dress rack before but here’s another pic! I keep my purses on the shelf above my dresses in these acrylic organizers (these are another great similar option I later found on Amazon). I do have to bend some purses to fit in the organizers, but I’ve had them like this for over a year now and it hasn’t hurt my purses one bit. I usually use my Madewell totes (current favorite!) during the week and then use my smaller purses for weekend date nights.
I still need to label my baskets and I’m working on the other section of my closet (done with drawers and working on jeans/tops!), but celebrating progress! Such a little thing.. getting my shoes up off the floor. Why did it take me years to take the time to do it!?
Organization. It just makes life happy doesn’t it!?
Speaking of happy. One of my kids was thrilled about starting school again and the other not so much. Can you guess which is which? :)
Love my crazy kids. Love an organized closet. Love back to school and new routines!
I hope your weekend is off to a good start! I’m sharing a fun update in my master bedroom. New bedding! Clean sheets and new bedding. That combo always feels so good right!? It made my bedroom feel new again. It has also helped me feel more excited about making my bed each morning!
I’ve been looking for a new comforter or duvet cover for a while now and when I saw this beautiful stripe linen duvet cover that’s part of the N sale I knew I had found “the one!” Nothing like a good stripe to make all things right in the world. :)
It’s so beautiful and cozy and has matching shams in standard, king and euro. I ordered the king shams because my headboard is low and I didn’t want to cover it up with tall euro pillows. Then I layered the stripe pillows with these fun comforter shams in a dark grey.
I placed this cute stitched throw pillow in the center and done! Honestly I like to keep the pillow situation pretty simple on our bed so that it’s easy to make and un-make. I always toss the pillows we sleep on on the benches in our bedroom and then at night I switch and toss the decorative pillows on the benches. Back and forth and back and forth. It’s a system. :)
I’m not really in a fall frame of mind yet (that usually kicks in after my kids are back in school!) but I decided to add this pretty wreath over my bed since I was giving my bedroom a little re-fresh with the new bedding. I bought this beautiful dried wheat wreath last year and had it in my kitchen. This is another faux wheat wreath that is also a fun option! The ribbon might look intentional but it’s there because of pure laziness. Ha. The nail in my wall was too high from the last thing I had hanging in this space and I wasn’t in the mood to add a new lower nail and pull the old one out and touch up the paint. I’ll use wreaths on ribbons during the holidays and save that little chore for next January. Pure laziness or pure genius? Maybe a little bit of both.
I decided to roll with a little more fall decor on my nightstand for fun too!
Love these antiqued brass candlesticks with my beloved spiral candles. This beautiful faux millet bundle was a fall favorite last year! It comes grouped together so you literally just set it in a vase and done. Easy styling and so pretty for fall.
I won’t be lighting these candles next to my little wheat bundle in case any of you were worried. ;)
This cozy corner got a little update too! (Sidenote.. I would love to switch these drapes out for something more neutral. On the someday wishlist!)
For now I’m thrilled with how much this cute side table elevated things. These branches were also fall favorites last year and I don’t know how long they will last in this space because I love them in my kitchen during Sept/Oct too! I just have two stems in this vase (each branch is very full!).
I added a couple of cute pillows (more stripes? don’t mind if I do..) and this beautiful throw that is also still on sale through the weekend. It’s called the softest throw blanket and really is so soft. I gave one to a friend for her birthday recently and she loves it too!
A closer look at this beautiful vase and bowl! STUNNING.
Maybe I AM in a fall frame of mind! This little re-fresh is making me want to bust out my fall decor and put it all over my house!
You know the book If you Give a Mouse a Cookie? I’m hearing a new title taking shape in my head.. If you Give Erin a new Duvet Cover.
Thinking I should write that book. I’m feeling New York Times Bestseller vibes.
No? Not so much? Ok ok. Guess I’ll just stick with blogging.
:)
Below are bedroom sources along with some fun N sale items that are still in stock. Sale ends this Sunday! I’m always sad to see it end. Kenny is always so grateful. Ha. I’m also sharing your July favorites! It’s so fun seeing what items you love the most that I share here. You all have great taste. ;)
Happy Sunday! Apologizing in advance for the length of this post! I’m sharing some recent favorites along with a photo dump from our Seattle trip last weekend. Feel free to skip the second half of this post since I’m using it as a family journal. I’ve learned that if I don’t document life here every once in a while the documenting will never happen! Ha. I shared that I ordered this cute J Crew dress a few weeks ago and wanted to share how it looks on! Such a great find! The reviews were right.. it’s very flattering! Of course I’m a fan of the color so there’s that too. :) It’s sold out in a lot of sizes (I’m hoping they bring it back!) but it comes in white and I also linked a very similar dress above. CUTE.
I’ve been living in this outfit this summer! I’ve shared the pants before.. they are so comfortable! The tee is beautiful. On the short side but perfect with high waist pants.
I know I’ve shared this travel bag before, but now I’ve actually traveled with it multiple times and I just couldn’t love it more! I heard it was so popular it went viral on social media? I’m not surprised because it holds so much more than you think it would! I’ve already ordered my girls each one for Christmas. (Yes.. thinking ahead to that already because I want to be mostly done with holiday shopping by October!)
I also shared these travel bottles and just used them for the first time on our trip to Seattle. LOVE them! They hold a lot of product and didn’t leak at all!
Fall is right around the corner (I know that makes some of you cheer and some of you boo!). I’m really enjoying summer with my kids and I never feel ready to decorate until they go back to school BUT I do like to start planning ahead! It’s not difficult for me to enjoy one season while planning ahead and getting excited about the next. I’m tricky like that. ;) You too? If you’re in my boat and enjoying summer while thinking a little about fall decor then you might be interested to know that these stunning cimicifuga ramosa leaves are back in stock! I’m very excited to pull them out again. They sold out quickly last year so don’t hesitate if you want them!
I’m also pretty smitten with these terracotta jack o lanterns! They came out with these last year but just in the orange. I loved them but didn’t order any because I wasn’t as into the color. Well ok! Whole new story with this black/gray vibe! I’m definitely a fan. They were so popular last year and sold out before October even hit and I know these will sell out quickly too so I’m sharing them early! A lot of people found ways to make something similar for less which is so fun too if you have the time! I ordered one of each size and will share a pic when they come in. Thinking they’ll land on my front porch this year. :)
These “pretty things” jewelry boxes sold out in a blink during the N sale, but there are so many similar fun options still in stock! Sharing 5 I love below! A cute little jewelry box like this is one of my favorite gifts to give because you can put some jewelry inside to make it really special.
While we’re talking gift ideas, below are other fun gifts that are still in stock and on sale! I always knock out some of my holiday shopping during the N sale and when December hits I’m always grateful I did!
Anthro Fall candles are out and they have so many fun options this year that double as decor too! That pumpkin/cinnamon fall smell is probably my favorite smell ever and something I always look forward to. I have a feeling a couple of these pretty candles will find their way into my home this fall. :)
Below are some pics from our recent trip to Seattle! Kenny and I love Seattle, but have never taken our kids. It was a short trip but we packed a lot in and had such a good time.
We kicked off our trip touring U Dub with Addison. What a stunning campus!
It was a beautiful day and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking.
The buildings were gorgeous too. Total Harry Potter vibe. I half expected Dumbledore to pop into this beautiful library at any moment. ;)
I would love to go back and see it again when the cherry blossom trees are blooming! It’s the same thing every time with these college tours. Kenny is always asking questions about things that are actually important for Addison to know about the school while I just get lost in the architecture and landscaping. Ha.
We took the kids to Pike Place Market (of course!). So fun to show them everything.
El snapped this on our way. :)
We showed them the first Starbucks which was a summer highlight for Addison since she’s addicted to pink drinks. Ha.
So fun seeing where it all started!
We hung out at the Pier for half of a day and did all the fun tourist Seattle things. Definitely do the “Wings over Washington” ride if you go.. it was incredible and Kole’s favorite part of the trip!
The Carousel was a hit too. :)
My kids loved the city and it made me so happy to finally show it to them! We lucked out with perfect weather too.
We ate at a few fun restaurants..
and walked a lot exploring in the evenings. We stayed at the Residence Inn Downtown/Lake Union and the location was great. We were so close to everything so we didn’t rent a car and just walked most of the time and took an uber if we needed one.
I love this city! I would seriously want to move here if the weather was always this beautiful. Not so sure I could handle the rain. :)
Another sweet moment El captured. She’s becoming quite the photographer. :)
Day 2 we took the kids to Lake Union to kayak!
I was so happy to finally have Tevas.. ha! Every trip we’ve taken for the last few years I’ve wished I had a pair for stuff like this.
We paddled around and had the best time! I loved seeing the beautiful houses on the lake and kept thinking of Tom Hanks and how they looked just like his house in Sleepless in Seattle. When we left the lake I looked it up and sure enough.. this is exactly where that movie was filmed!
Check out these expert kayakers.
So in sync! ;)
After a fun day on the lake we cleaned up and got ready for the main reason we hit Seattle..
To say the 3 of us were giddy is an understatement! I wore this black dress I recently bought at the N sale.. Reputation all the way for this Swiftie. ;) My girls wore these cute rompers they have been living in this summer and I last minute ordered El a pair of western boots from the sale because she didn’t have a pair!
I also ordered these cute clear purses for each of us to take! Now we’re set for future concerts/events too.
Kole’s first concert. Now I’m worried any future concerts will fall a little flat in comparison.. ha! So special experiencing this night with my family! And a couple of Ad’s besties she was face timing at the beginning of the concert. Too fun.
The energy in this stadium was off the charts! I’ve honestly never experienced anything like it! This clock started counting down to Taylor coming on and everyone went absolutely crazy.
She was unbelievable.
WHAT A SHOW.
We never sat down and sang and danced our hearts out! Kenny was laughing after and said he felt like he was there chaperoning his 3 teenage daughters.. ha. I definitely lived it up with my girls! Ad and I even traded friendship bracelets with other fans. Swifties are the sweetest people! I loved everyone I talked to that night. Even the boys had the best time. We have all been singing her songs nonstop this past week! It was a night we will never forget.
We didn’t travel far but that was hands down one of my favorite family trips. :)
July is flying by in a blink isn’t it!? Crazy how some months go by so quickly while others (I’m talking to you January/February) feel like a never ending slog. Ha. I guess that means we are enjoying summer and I hope you are doing the same! I feel like my moto this summer has definitely been play hard/work hard. We have been having lots of fun in the sun with friends, but I have also been working hard to get a few things organized around here and I’m happy to be sharing a new solution that is making me happy in my bathroom!
I mentioned a while back in a post that I was loving this bathroom counter organizer. It really has been such a good solution for me! I had my vase & branches on a tray in this space, but I noticed that I kept putting my most used items on the tray to make life easier and it always looked cluttered and messy. So I ditched the tray! It’s happily living somewhere else now and this cute acrylic bathroom counter organizer is doing a much better job of holding often used items AND looking beautiful.
I love having Q tips close when I’m putting on my make-up (for some reason I’ve never learned how to put mascara on without getting it all over my eyes) and this cute acrylic Q tip holder keeps them tidy and accessible. It’s the little things. :)
Then I just have my every day jewelry in my little heart tray, my favorite perfume, makeup brushes, and all of my favorite skin care products that I use at night and in the morning on the organizer also. It really does make life easier to have my most used items easy to access! (*Sidenote – I just noticed while I was linking my skin care favorites that Colleen Rothschild is doing a Christmas in July sale – 25% off right now!)
Plus this organizer is just so cute and stylish. I love the gold grommets on the side! This is a great solution if you are short on drawer space in your bathroom and it could also be used under the sink to hold items that aren’t as pretty to display. I’m a fan!
Two days after I took pictures of my little organizer my new makeup brushes from the N sale came in the mail! So excited about these. I’ve had my previous foundation brushes for years and they were starting to fall apart. (I also have a foundation brush I really like that is similar to this in my drawer.)
Here are a few more N sale favs I ordered that finally arrived! These farrah raw hem high waist bootcut jeans must be the best kept secret of the sale because they are still in stock in most sizes! You know my love affair with AG jeans.. hands down the best fitting jeans for my body type. If you have curves or gain weight in your butt/thighs you will love these. They are so flattering! You might love them if you don’t gain weight in your butt/thighs too, I just wouldn’t know about that because that’s not the case here. Also I hate you and we can’t be friends anymore.
Very excited about some jewelry I picked up at the sale this year! I always wear a few bracelets on my left wrist and these are going to be my new go-to’s. Both so beautiful and I love them paired together.
I wanted to share this cute leather moto jacket too because it’s such a staple for me! I’m sure many of you recognize it (or own it!). It was part of the N sale a couple of years ago and they keep bringing it back no doubt because it’s a favorite. I have loved it! I wear it all year and it’s my go-to jacket for football games in the fall. It’s leather but lined with a soft sweatshirt material and hood making it so soft. I got my regular size going for a more fitted look and just wear thin long sleeved tops under it, but if you want to wear sweaters under it I would go up a size. A splurge but definitely worth it!
Wearing it in these pics we took on Addison’s birthday in May. :)
This is another favorite shirt from the sale! It’s oversized so I went down to an xxs and love the fit, but some reviews say that it shrinks when you wash it. I will wash mine and report back! It’s so big I actually wouldn’t care if it shrunk a little, but if you’re worried about that order your regular size. I LOVE the style and color for fall!
Ok – this quarter zip pullover was one of my favorites from the sale this year and I didn’t share it immediately because it sold out SO quickly in all colors, but they just re-stocked it! YEA! It’s so comfortable and cute! It’s on the short size but perfect to pair with high waist jeans/pants.
I know I will live in this when it cools off. Very tempted to get it in black or green too while it’s such a great price! (It’s oversized – I went down a size to xxs)
This cleo balloon sleeve top is another favorite top from the sale that you might remember from my initial collage round-up of the items I was most excited about. I wish it would have come in sooner to share because it looks like the black is sold out and the other colors almost are too. I’m hoping they re-stock it, but if not this is one top that is worth buying at full price when it comes back after the sale (in my opinion!). It’s so beautiful! I just can’t get over the sleeves. One to watch for and I’ll share it again if they re-stock it!
Two other sweaters I love from the sale this year! (The blue and orange are the same sweater.) These are both cropped but work great with high waisted pants.
I didn’t have time to try this on to show you but this tank is so cute too! It has a built-in bra and is a great fit. I went up to a small in this one (my regular size felt a little too tight).
They also brought back these tees that I live in! I have multiples in all colors. I’m actually wearing one right now as I type this post.. ha! They are perfect to layer with cardigans and vests or just to throw on to clean, run errands, etc. I sleep in them all the time too. :) This year they also came out with these similar tees that have more of a sharp v-neck vs. the rounded v-neck so I ordered a couple to try!
I haven’t had time to share my kids’ favorites from the sale, but this is my favorite outfit I got for Kole this year. I can’t believe he is going into 8th grade next month! I have to say that so far middle school has been a breeze with this child! I was so worried after going through the middle school years with two girls. I had my combat boots ready and was gearing up for ALL the drama. Every day I picked him up from school and he had a smile on his face. (What!?) I would say “how was your day bud? Everything ok with classes? Everything ok with friends? Is everyone getting along?” And every day it was the same thing. “It’s good mom! All good. School is good. Teachers are good. Friends are good. But mom.. the girls my age. What is WRONG with them!?”
Ha ha..
I told him if he wants my advice I’d steer clear until high school. We mellow with age. ;)

I hope your week is off to a good start! We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Seattle. We were only there 3 days but packed a lot in including the Taylor Swift concert.. so good! I’ve been on a high from that night ever since! I’ll share a few pics soon. We got home late last night so today was an unpack, clean, laundry, grocery, re-group sort of day. While I was cleaning I snapped a few pictures of recent favorites around the house that I’m excited about! Starting with this cute new rug for my mudroom. I actually ordered this rug for my backyard (and it still might end up there!) but I opened it in my mudroom and it just sort of looked like it belonged and wanted to stay.
I love this rug because it’s such a great neutral and works with everything, but the pattern adds a little something extra. I usually have a runner against our locker drawers in this room, but my runners always get in the way of the garage door so it’s fun to mix it up and add a larger rug for the room like this sometimes.
Cute serve ware isn’t it!? Whenever I think of summer the first thing that pops into my head is snacks. NON-STOP snacks. Ha. I feel like fixing snacks is about all I do in a day and I know most moms can relate! I put this together in minutes today before I picked up Kole and his friends from a morning camp. I can get snacks here so quickly with Walmart.com and it has saved me time and time again this summer (especially on days like today when we have no food in the house!). When I order groceries on-line from the app I love their substitutions feature. You can choose what product substitutions you do or don’t want (so you always know exactly what you are getting), place the order and then pick it up or have it delivered. GAME CHANGER.
Snacks on the upstairs deck today! I moved these cute outdoor canopy chairs up to this spot about a month ago after enjoying them by the pool for a while. They have been a great solution to add more shade to this sunny spot!
This deck if off of my girls’ bedrooms and they love chilling out here with each other and friends. I can always hear laughter coming from this deck when I’m in the kitchen with the window open and it makes me smile! I love having my girls both home and together again.
I recently ordered this little end table that’s perfect for outdoors and exactly what we needed to hold snacks and drinks. It’s a great price, durable and can be used indoors too! So cute.
Another great neutral Walmart rug. This pic was from last fall but seeing the mini white pumpkins makes me excited for things to come! I have absolutely loved this rug. Very durable and the stripe works with everything.
This set of dishes is another favorite and so good for the price! They are beautiful, great quality and I love having them displayed out on shelves when we aren’t using them.

I’m so excited to be sharing some happy news with you all today! MacKenzie-Childs is having their biggest and best sale of the year July 20-24 with up to 60% off some of their most treasured items! I was slightly giddy when they reached out to me to help share the news because I have always admired their dishes from afar (especially their Courtly Check Collection!). Black and white checkers? Yes please! These pieces are beautiful, timeless and just FUN.
I love to entertain and can’t wait to use this fun collection for ALL the get togethers. This black and white pattern works so well for holidays like Halloween and Christmas! You can easily add pops of orange or red or any color any time of year to create a new look. I chose these 4 items to kick off my collection because they are large and perfect for hosting. I love the cute two tier stand and the abundant bowl is perfect to hold large salads.
This collection also doubles beautifully as decor and adds a pop of personality and fun to any space! I’m excited to style these dishes in my pantry and on kitchen shelves.
Seriously though.. how fun is this for ice cream toppings!?
I have a feeling these items will be used by my family the most. We love ice cream with our movie nights! Especially in the summer. We have been staying up so late every night watching movies together because we can sleep in a little most mornings. :) Not ready for summer to end!
I set these cute dishes together in less than 5 minutes and had a beautiful display ready to host!
Fast forward a few hours to our evening movie party and it’s time for ice cream and treats! My kids were so excited when they got home and saw this out on the counter. I said “I know right.. aren’t these dishes just beautiful!?
Come to find out they were just in it for the gummy bears and doughnuts.
And the oreos. :) Ha. What a shock.
I love this collection and know I will use it again and again for years to celebrate time together with family and friends.
I hope you had a good weekend! We had a lot of friend activities and get togethers. So much fun, but now I need a day to recover. After a weekend of socializing I’m all about nesting quietly in my house with a good podcast. Ha! Not likely with the kids all home, but it sounds amazing doesn’t it!? :) Speaking of nesting I added a few of my N sale home staples to my kitchen last week and I’m loving the overall summer vibe! All of my favorite boards are back in the sale this year (and they added a couple more!). Serving boards, platters and bowls always make the best kitchen decor. At least that seems to be the case in my kitchen. :)
Here are my favorite boards/bowls from the sale this year:
These are the throws I came home with/have and love! The “linen gauze” throw is so beautiful in person! Perfect for the end of a bed – I’m going to use it in my master bedroom. The “softest throw” with fringe I actually bought a few weeks ago before the sale (never fails!). It’s beautiful draped over a chair or couch. I picked up another for a friend’s birthday gift. The “in the wild” print throw I’ve had for a few years and it is hands down my favorite throw to relax with for movie nights. I ended up buying my family all their own barefoot dream blankets for Christmas so they would stop stealing mine! I picked up a “cozy ribbed” barefoot dreams throw to use for a future gift for someone. They are always a hit. Lots of beautiful throws in the sale this year!
Back to the kitchen! One way I love decorating with boards and platters is by layering them on shelves or on my kitchen counter. Easy access if you want to use them to entertain plus they add a lot of style, dimension and visual interest. I placed this black marble serving board against my backsplash and then layered the smaller marble & wood serving board and it added so much personality to this spot!
This beautiful marble & acacia wood cake stand is included in the sale this year and I have loved mine! It has been sitting next to my stove for over a year now. I love switching out the candle and items I place on top of it for different seasonal decor. Beautiful cake stand!
You’ve all seen my round marble & acacia wood serving board. I’ve had the wood and white marble board for years and this year I was excited to add the black to my little collection. :) They are both so beautiful!
My marble lazy susan is another N sale favorite from past years. If I don’t have it out in my kitchen I use it in my panty. It always looks beautiful! Very tempted to get the black lazy susan too this year. I’ve loved having the white lazy susan sitting in this kitchen corner holding the oatmeal. :)
This wood serving bowl is another Nordstrom favorite that is on sale! I’ve had it for years and use it mostly to hold fruit. I love the light shade of wood.
I snapped this pic with my phone (ignore the bad lighting!) to show you how the two sizes of bowls compare. I love them both! Long time favorites at my house.
Another board layered on a board. Clearly it’s a theme around here. :) This white marble serving board is the same as the back board I shared on my gold tray. They are so heavy and beautiful.. amazing quality for the price! A great gift idea too if you want to stock up on a few to have on hand. I’ve done that with marble boards in past years.
I put this vase and stems together to go in my entry, but I set it here on my kitchen counter while I was moving things around and then added some limes I had bought for my diet coke to this black bowl. As soon as I saw my faux eucalyptus stems next to the lemons and limes I knew they weren’t going anywhere for a while. Hello summer perfection!
Especially when you add the diet coke. :)
So that’s it! A few of my N sale favorites throughout the kitchen. Below are other HOME favorites from the sale this year. YEA that everyone can shop the sale now! A lot of my favorite clothes from the sale are still in stock! You can see them here:
