Money tree, gift card tree and fun gift ideas!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Sunday! Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments and e-mails about my new bed! It was fun hearing from so many of you and I’m thrilled you like the change. #teambed for the win. ;) In other happy news El is home! I got my girls back (all I wanted for Christmas!) and I am one happy mom. So excited to get this holiday party started.

Full transparency.. this has not been my most organized Christmas! I used my holiday planner and was off to a good start, but somewhere along the way life got busy and I got behind and well.. let’s just say I am still doing some of my holiday shopping and haven’t wrapped a thing. Some years I’m done in November! I wish this was one of those years.. ha. I came up with a fun gift idea this weekend for my 3 kids. When you have 3 teens you have to get creative! (Kole turns 13 in March so he is joining the club!) :)

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{small faux balsam tree/medium faux balsam tree/mini red clothespins}

Teens and college kids love money and gift cards but that’s not always the most fun gift to to open! I ordered these cute trees from Target, pulled out some red mini clothes pins and cash and got to work!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

After just a few minutes of rolling up bills and clipping them to the tree branches I had these cute little money trees! So festive right!? I think I would be excited about this gift! You? :)

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

I bought gift cards to places I know my kids love and did the same thing with the cards too! Isn’t the gift card tree cute!? This one is for El. She loves Chick-fil-a, Starbucks, Sephora..

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Target and Krispy Kreme donuts. :) Addison’s and Kole’s trees are totally different. I love this for a gift because you can personalize it!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{small faux balsam tree/medium faux balsam tree/mini red clothespins}

Money trees and gift card trees.. so much fun! These would be great teacher gifts too! The small trees don’t hold as much so you could use a small tree to give someone 2-3 gift cards or even just one gift card attached with a note. You can order these cute Target trees online and have them delivered before Christmas but obviously this would work with any trees with long enough branches. I love that my kids can keep these cute trees to decorate their rooms in the future too!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

I’ve also made these fun money trees in the past to give as gifts. I’m hoping I have time to make a reel on IG that shows how I make these this week (we’ll see if there is time!) but really they are so easy. Fold each bill accordion style and then just fold them across in the middle a little more each time making each bill shorter going up to the star. I use green twist ties and cross in front and back to hold the bills in place.

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{women’s fleece lounge sweatshirt/women’s fleece lounge jogger pants/ugg slippers}

I made a quick Target run last week to get a few things for the kids and this cute green jogger set just sort of decided to come home with me. :) It’s fleece and so soft and I haven’t wanted to take it off!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{quilted sweatshirt/vuori performance joggers/rag & bone sneakers}

I also got this fun quilted sweatshirt I’m loving. My Vuori joggers are staples and would make a great gift for Christmas too. Really anything from Vuori makes a great gift! We love that brand. Kenny lives in Vuori clothes and half of his Christmas always comes from that store if you still need gifts for the men in your life!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{stanley quencher tumblers}

I love the colors of these Stanley tumblers! I really didn’t understand what the hype was with these until I owned my own. Now I drink my water! That’s why they are so great. Water stays cold and they fit great in the car and I love the straw. Also like I said.. cute colors. :) I couldn’t choose so my family and friends are getting all different colors this year! Guess which one I’m keeping for myself? :)

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{pink slipper socks/cream slipper socks/kristin ess scrunchie/claw clip/curved claw clip/satin skinnies}

A few cute things for girls! These slipper socks are so cute, a great price and they have the grippers on the bottom! I love that so I’m not sliding around. This is also a brand of hair accessories I’m loving. The large green scrunchie is my favorite! I wear it all the time and it really holds my thick hair in place. It comes in other colors so I bought black for stockings too this year. :)

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{large makeup pouch/loaf makeup bag/pencil makeup case/initial heart necklace}

I’ve had these make-up bags for a couple of years and love them so I’m giving them as a gift this year too (I also love the pink!). The large size has been perfect to toss lots of beauty products inside. I use it a lot when I’m traveling but not flying and can take full size bottles. The small pencil case I keep in my purse and it holds a small brush, lip gloss, etc.

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{initial heart necklace}

These initial necklaces are also sweet! You all know how much I love initial necklaces. Below are other options I have and love..

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{velvet jewelry organizer/ triangle zippered jewelry case/oval zippered jewelry organizer}

I love these zippered jewelry organizers too!

This is what they look like on the inside. Perfect for every day or travel!

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{falala tin/tall holly tin/tree dinner plate/gingerbread men tin/leaf tin/merry tin}

I thought these tins were so cute too! Perfect if you like to bake treats to take to friends and neighbors.

Money Tree Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Below are LOTS of other fun gift ideas (if you are still shopping like me this year!) along with more dress options (if you still need a dress for a holiday event like me this year!). I just noticed also that at Madewell they are doing 50% off! Just add the code ITSAWRAP. Wow! Such a good deal. Below are favorites I’ve shared before. I don’t know if the items will get here in time for Christmas but with a sale like that I’d be ok with a print out saying the item was on its way! :) Ok.. I’m off to order a few more gifts for the kids! Happy shopping, wrapping, baking, cleaning and celebrating this week! Don’t forget to breathe. We’ve got this. ;)

Christmas Decor (Master Bedroom)

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{similar rug}

I hope you’re enjoying the weekend! I’m sharing my master bedroom Christmas decor today! It’s pretty much decorated the same as last year other than a few things. Well.. mostly one major thing. Can you spot the difference? :)

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{flocked tree/similar wood bead garland/green ball ornaments/similar chairs/similar pom throw}

I used all green in this space again and decorated my beloved flocked tree with my wooden bead garland and a variety of green ball ornaments. I always like to keep this tree simple because when the lights are on it shines on its own!

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{sutherland canopy bed/white comforter/olive bedspread & shams/chunky knit blanket/lumbar pillow/hester bench}

Speaking of shining.. I got a new bed! Did you notice the change!? I actually got this in September and can’t believe I haven’t shared the update yet. Kenny and I celebrated 25 years of marriage this Fall and he really wanted to get me a new wedding ring. My original ring is small and not the nicest of diamonds (we were so broke when we got married!). He has wanted to replace my wedding ring for years and I won’t let him. I’m very sentimental about my original ring – takes me right back to when we met and fell in love! Plus I’m just not that into fancy jewelry. Give me a Madewell necklace and I’m good to go. Ha. So when he tried to take me ring shopping for our 25th anniversary I told him thank you for wanting to spoil me that way BUT if he really wanted to make me smile.. there was this bed I had been eyeing. :) I got what I really wanted and he saved a chunk of change so it was a win for everyone! My friends think I’m crazy but LOOK at this canopy bed! I’m in love! This room has always been a struggle for me to decorate because the ceilings are so high. I kept buying large art to put over our bed to fill in the space, but something always looked off to me. This room needed a canopy bed! (If you have tall ceilings consider a bed like this!) It fills up the empty space so nicely and now all feels right when I walk into my bedroom.

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

Now it will be EASY to find something to put over our bed. Smaller items work great in the space between the metal frames. Items like my beloved hoop wreath for the holidays!

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

What do you think? Are you team new bed or new diamond ring? Ha ha.. I might be a party of one on this debate but I have zero regrets!

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{lamps/mirrors/frame/reindeer}

My Amazon lamps and mirrors work great and I love the black in this space! Everything feels grounded now. Decor is simple on Kenny’s side of the bed. An oldie but goodie pic of us from around 25 years ago :) and my black reindeer looking as regal as ever.

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{feathery pine trees/similar 3 piece mirrored cabinet}

I added more of my favorite pine trees on my white console table and a wooden bowl of green ornaments. This was the table that used to be in my entry. I’d love to move this upstairs and get something different for this space that fits the new vibe with my canopy bed. Maybe for my 26th anniversary?

If you give a mouse a cookie..

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{similar ladder/similar throw/similar stockings}

My side of the bed. :)

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{snowy pine trees/barefoot dreams blanket}

I’ve had this garland for years and it really shines at night because of all of the lights attached. They discontinued it and I was so bummed because it’s GOOD! The little flocked trees are favorites I’ve had for years and also light up beautifully at night!

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

{cable knit pillow}

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

This was my Christmas bedroom last year. Before the new bed..

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

And after! Do you agree? One simple change made such a difference! So much better for this space. I hope you enjoyed the tour of my Christmas bedroom! It’s the perfect spot to retreat this time of year. Addison and I especially love escaping to this room when a football game is on in the family room. We bring in treats, turn on all of the sparkly lights and pick out a Christmas movie. If you need me the week after Christmas this is where you’ll find me! Can’t wait.

Christmas Master Bedroom (Sunny Side Up)

I have a few small changes I want to make in this space in the new year. My canopy bed inspired all sorts of ideas! Do you have decorating or renovating plans for the new year? I’m excited for new projects! It’s my favorite thing to dream about while I’m watching Christmas movies over the holiday break.

And eating all of the cookies.

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{hooded flannel shirt}

I can’t believe we are just 10 days away from Christmas! It’s mad dash/scramble time and I have a feeling some of you are feeling a little overwhelmed like I am! So much to do in just a short amount of time! But it will all get done, right? I need some reassurance because my list is a little longer than I wish it was at this point in the game. :) I have so many fun things to share including my bedroom and living room decor and just need to find time to go through the pics! Coming soon. I’m popping in today with a shorter post with a few fashion favorites. I’ve got my trusty male model sharing a couple of his recent favorite tops from Walmart. ;) They have great options for men right now and at the bottom of this post I shared lots of gift ideas if you are still shopping for the men in your life! Kenny is a fan of this flannel shirt (comes in other colors/patterns) and I love it on him too.

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{fleece hoodie}

He also loves this fleece hoodie! He usually wears a large and that is the size he is wearing, but he said he probably could have ordered a medium in this (it runs a little big). I was going to return it and get him a smaller size but he kept wearing it so I guess we are keeping the large.. ha. He might be getting the same hoodie in a different color in a medium for Christmas. :)

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{crewneck sweater/flannel faux wrap skirt}

A cute outfit for my cute teen! This flannel skirt would look great with black tights and boots too in colder climates! Ad is in the middle of two shows right now and so busy with so many things. I’ve hardly seen her lately other than popping in to eat and sleep! We are all so excited to get Ellie here and school out for break so we can hang out together. I miss having my girls around all the time!

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{mock neck sweater}

Here are a couple of sweaters I’ve been loving lately! This mock sweater is such a great fit! I love the sleeves, the loose neck and the quality is GOOD. Feels just like other sweaters I have that I paid a lot more for! It’s yellow/orange on the back and I love the color block look! In fact I love this sweater so much I ordered the green and navy version too. :)

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{cowl neck sweater}

The neck on this cowl neck sweater is perfection. Slouchy and comfortable! Another cute sweater and such a great price right now!

Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{striped pjs/plush sleep robe}

I’m looking forward to many days ahead in these robes! (Below are the cutest robe options for kids too!) December is always such a blur! I love this month, but it feels so good to slow down after Christmas doesn’t it!? I’m always ready for a week of NOTHING after the holidays. Ha. Nothing but family time in these robes! That’s what I want for Christmas. ;)

If you are looking for ski/winter clothes for your family I shared lots of fun options in this post! Below are other Walmart fashion favorites that would make great gifts if you are still shopping. I wish I could say that I was done with my shopping this year but I am far from it and I haven’t wrapped a thing!

So much for getting everything done early like I usually do. Good thing there is always next year! A chance to try again.

Don’t be surprised if my holiday calendar comes out in August. ;)

Favorites & Gift Ideas

Woodsy Glam Christmas Tree (Sunny Side Up)

{similar norway faux spruce tree/woven tree skirt/chunky wool jute rug/this gorgeous leafy garland /khaki velvet ribbon/black velvet ribbon/glitter gold star tree topper}

Happy Sunday! The start of a new week with lots to do! Bring it on. :) I hope you’ve had a good weekend so far. I’m excited to share some fun things with you this week! I have lots of pics to go through. Which is great. Because I have lots of holiday movies to watch and those two tasks go hand in hand. Who is bringing the popcorn? :)

Today I’m sharing few fun sales, a few fun things back in stock and a few fun gift ideas! Loads of fun. Get ready. ;) My leafy garland is on sale (in my tree above) and all holiday decor at Mcgee & Co is 30% off! Below are my favorites that are still in stock. The tree is the same tree I have but the flocked version and it comes in two sizes.

holiday decor (Sunny Side Up)

My Sandy Terracotta Vase is back in stock! I got a lot of questions about it when I shared the holiday decor in my kitchen so I wanted to let you know it’s back! A little pricey but so beautiful and I love that it’s tapered at the top. Vases that are tapered at the top are my favorite because you don’t have to use as many branches to get a full look.

holiday decor (Sunny Side Up)

{holiday family room sources}

Another favorite vase that’s back in stock but won’t be for long is my Matte Grey Tapered Jar. Investment pieces to decorate with for years to come!

holiday decor (Sunny Side Up){artificial feathery pine tree}

My faux Target trees are marked down and on their way out! Such a good price right now. LOVE them. I leave the trees up on my porch through February. :)

1-tree waffle maker   2- snowman   3-gingerbread   4-snowflake

Just two weeks until Christmas!

On that note enjoy the rest of your weekend. Ha!

Deep breaths.. deep breaths.

Easy Holiday Treats

*This post is sponsored by Walmart. All product selections and opinions are my own!

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{gingerbread house/gingerbread village}

I hope you’ve had a good week! December is flying by isn’t it!? Always such a busy month. I’ve been going non-stop this week and have a busy weekend ahead but Ellie comes home from college at the end of next week! I’m so excited and trying to get as much done as possible before she gets here. Once she’s home I plan on spending more time doing fun holiday activities with my crew and hopefully spending more time in my pjs watching Christmas movies. :)

I’m sharing some easy holiday treats today! A little December tradition on the blog. :) Every year we buy these gingerbread sets from Walmart for the kids and Ellie asked me on the phone last week if I had bought them yet. My kids make a mess with these but just like this post.. tradition! One of those things I roll with because my kids want to do it every December. These kits are great and so much easier than buying everything individually or whipping up homemade gingerbread! Not that I’ve ever actually made homemade gingerbread, but I can imagine that it would be hard. Ha. ;)

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{sugar cookie kit/holiday gingerbread cookie mix}

Walmart has so many fun holiday treats! I’m a huge fan of these cookie kits that include everything you need. They make it so easy for my girls to make treats together and easy for this non chef to figure out if I’m making treats on my own. :) I’m also a huge fan of Walmart’s online delivery and pickup. Especially this time of year when I want quick and easy treats for all of our fun Christmas movie nights! *New customers can use promo code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off their first three pickup or delivery orders. $50 min. Restrictions & fees apply.

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{muddy buddies/reese’s minis/holiday m&m’s/pretzels}

Have you ever made reindeer chow? It’s another holiday treat that’s pretty popular at my house in December! So easy to make. I love throwing it together when my kids are having lots of friends over! All you need to make it are the items photographed above.

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

Want the super tricky recipe for this holiday treat?

You dump everything together in a bowl.

When I say EASY holiday treats I’m not kidding around. :)

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

This is my kind of baking! Because there is no baking. :) It’s a huge crowd pleaser!

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{wishful winter bowl set}

Aren’t these bowls cute too!? They come with wooden lids (so nice if you want to cover your food!) but I actually love them without the lids.

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{wood cutting board}

My Christmas tree snack board is another holiday favorite! If you’ve been with me a while you’ve seen this a time or two. :) The best part about this easy holiday treat is that you can use any food you have at your house! Pull out any produce and/or crackers and you’re set. You could even use the same 2 or 3 things throughout repeating items! Just don’t forget pretzel sticks for the trunk and something for a star on top. :) I always just use a star cookie cutter and cheese.

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

The tree I made this year is almost identical to the tree I made last year because these are the snacks we always have in our fridge/pantry. Ha. :)

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

These are some easy holiday treats I made last year to give you a few more movie night ideas!

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{cheese board & knife set}

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

{red dinnerware set/bhg tiered set/4 piece wood serving set/white serving platters}

Some of my favorite serveware! The recipe for the Oatmeal Carmelites is at the end of this post. The are so delicious!

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

The recipe for my grandma’s applesauce cookies (another December staple for us!) is in this post. Aside from being delicious they also make your house smell so good! That post I just shared with the recipe was written in 2011 btw! My kids were all so little! That’s how long I’ve been sharing these cookies and everything else under the sun with you. We’re getting older friends. At least we’re doing it together.

While enjoying all the cookies. :)

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)Easy reindeer treats.

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

And Santa hats using Ritz crackers, cream cheese, strawberries and marshmallows.  The crackers can get soggy on these if you let them sit long so we always eat these soon after I make them! Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

Grinch Santas and another no bake favorite – popcorn with pretzels and holiday m&m’s. :)

Easy Holiday Treats (Sunny Side Up)

Then of course we always make our beloved pretzel hugs to give to friends. I’ve been making and sharing this easy holiday treat since long before 2011! (Type pretzel hugs in the search bar for more info. on these – about 15 posts will pop up.. ha).

I’m slightly predictable, but tradition!

A big part of what December is all about.

Holiday Bathroom – 2 ways!

*affiliate links used
Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

Sharing a few pics of my holiday bathroom! How it’s looking at the moment and how it looked last year. Both are fun looks for December. :) Because most of the Christmas decor in my house this year is green with a woodsy vibe I did the same in my powder bathroom.

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{tufted diamond bath mat}

I bought this rug in the fall and love the neutral colors and pattern. The only thing I don’t love is that it doesn’t have a sticky back so it was slipping around.

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{non slip rug gripper}

Problem solved with these rug pad grippers! Seriously genius! Where have they been all of my life!? They are so easy to use.. you just peel and stick. They don’t hurt your floors and stick just enough to hold your rug in place! Had to share that little trick as soon as I discovered it. :)

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{white terracotta pot/similar branches here/here/here/similar round rattan tray here/here/natural bottlebrush trees}

I added simple greenery to this white terracotta pot with my little bottle brush trees in a round rattan tray for a fun focal point.

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{green performance bath towel}

With lots of green towels for the win. :)

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{fresh balsam & cedarwood hand wash/tabletop tree/similar marble pedestal here/here}

Then I added my favorite holiday hand soap and this cute little tabletop tree that lights up beautifully. I set it on a marble pedestal instead of adding some felt on the bottom. Marble scratches so easily so I always have to be careful in this bathroom!

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{sleigh bell towels}

This was my powder bathroom last December! Very similar but red instead of green. :)

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{merry rug – on sale!}

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{chevron vase/faux poinsettia/fir & firewood candle}

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

{merry hand towel – on sale!}

Christmas Bathroom (Sunny Side Up)

I love both looks and could never choose just one! Which is why I go back and forth and mix it up. Red. Then green. Then green and red together.

Then red all over again.

:)

Cozy kitchen window/gift ideas

*affiliate links used

Christmas Window (Sunny Side Up)

{similar faux cedar garland/faux cedar swag/faux long pine needle garland}

I hope you’re enjoying the weekend! December madness and all. :) I’ve rounded up some fun gift ideas but wanted to also share these pics I took yesterday of my cozy kitchen window at night! Always a favorite spot right around 5 pm when it gets dark and these lights click on. I added these fun mercury votive holders to each side of my window this year and put in more of my timer tea lights. My timer lights are in the houses too and the birch trees come with a timer option.. so convenient!

I also added some of my favorite fairy lights in random spots like around my oatmeal canisters. These twinkle lights are great to add a little sparkle all over the house. I use them in my garland all the time too! I’ve tried a few different types and these are my favorite because of the glow they give off and how easy they are to use/wrap around things. You just click them on and off (they have a little battery pack) so they are the only things I manually turn on in the evening.

Try to get some rest if you can before Monday hits. And breathe. Deep breaths! Also listen to Christmas music and add fairy lights around your house. Holiday Entry

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

Happy December! I can tell it’s finally here because my house is all lit up at night! I’m also tired and all out of batteries. The ups and downs of the most wonderful time of the year. Ha. ;) This week has been fun, but also busy.. holiday events are in full swing! I set a goal today to prioritize sleep because that’s usually the first thing to go for me during December. My goals usually stick for about a day so I’m declaring it here in hopes that I can actually make it happen. I just wish I didn’t need to sleep at all! There is so much to fit into one month! I personally wish December was 3 months long.

Which probably explains why I start decorating and celebrating in October. :)

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

I decorated my holiday entry on the sophisticated side this year to match my front living room. Which I still need to take pictures of and share!

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

My Merry Christmas banner greets everyone on their way inside.

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

I combined a variety of branches in my beloved minka pot. I used a few different faux cedar branches with these white berry stem branches. Such an easy way to make a big impact! It took less than 5 minutes to arrange – really there’s no secret to it! Just use a variety of greenery. Then I placed ornaments in a woven tray next to my pot. At the end of my post I’ll link the branches I used and similar faux cedar branches. I found a lot of beautiful options still in stock!

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

{vintage countryside framed canvas}

I ordered this print on Amazon for my entry table in the fall and then decided to keep it up through the holidays because I love the green! It’s such a pretty canvas of the countryside. I added candles on the other side and a basket and blanket below. Simple and done!

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

I kept my bench simple too with neutral pillows and a pom throw.

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

{faux trees/faux snow}

This was my entry table last year. A little more whimsical and fun!

Holiday Entry (Sunny Side Up)

Which look do you like better? I love them both and always have fun mixing things up each year!

Ok.. short post because I have to sleep. It’s my December goal you know.

So no more long rambling blog posts that keep me up too late!

Until tomorrow night.

:)

Winter Fashion

*This post sponsored by Walmart. All product selections and opinions are my own!

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{puffer jacket/hiker boots}

“Oh, the weather outside is frightful..”

Actually no. No it’s not. There’s nothing frightful about San Diego winters at all. But it is chilly enough for a cute, lightweight puffer jacket. Score! We’ll take it. :)

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{front porch sources}

Sharing a few recent Walmart fashion favorites today.. these boots are so comfortable!  (I linked other cute coat options below for those of you who really are dealing with frightful weather!)

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{long sweater cardigan}

This long sweater cardigan is so fun! It’s cute and warm and I love the striped sleeves. I also love feeling like I have a stylish blanket on. :)

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

Loving these slim trouser pants too! The paper bag waist is so cute (perfect for holiday parties) and very flattering. Wear them with a fitted shirt tucked in and you are set.

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{striped pjs/plush sleep robe}

Not long ago I shared these fuzzy robes Ad and I never want to take off.

Winter Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{short sleeved sleep shirts/women’s cabin socks}

We’ve added these cute nightshirts and fuzzy socks to our cozy collection! I don’t like to sleep in nightshirts because I get twisted around in them (anyone else?) but I LOVE putting them on when I get out of the shower. I like to wear them while I blow dry my hair and put on make-up and then I get dressed last. These are so cute for the holidays and I love that they come in a pack of two! Fun to share with someone. :) These socks are a dream. Seriously so soft and warm! They are plush on the inside but have texture on the bottom too so that you don’t slip (my favorite). They come in lots of fun colors and patterns and I bought lots to have on hand for gifts. (Fun for teen girls too!)

I rounded up some fun winter fashion options below! We’re going to try to fit in a ski trip this year or early next year so I’ve been checking out all of Walmart’s ski clothes and they have so many cute, affordable options. I’m sharing favorites for the whole family! Women, men, girls and boys. Practical holiday gifts like a new coat and boots are always a good thing. Enjoy your day and stay warm! :)

Christmas Mudroom & Santa Wall

*affiliate links used
Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

When the Santa pictures are up on our shiplap display wall it’s officially Christmas at our house! I’m sharing our Christmas mudroom, Santa wall and stairs today. A fun little section of our house that gets the most day to day traffic!

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

{similar garland with lights!/ho ho ho pillow option/similar fa la la pillow/woven ottomans}

For years I used our shiplap display wall to display Christmas cards from family and friends but a few years ago I started using this wall to display our Santa pics.

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

I snapped this up close with my phone. We’ve taken a picture with Santa every year since Ellie was one! A little tradition I can’t quit because I love these pics so much. I watch my kids grow up right in front of my eyes on this wall every year! I try to create some sort of Christmas tree shape but it’s a little tricky because each year the configuration changes when we add a new picture. This year I started with the oldest pic on the bottom and made it the trunk. :)

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

This was my Santa picture wall last year. No trunk and I added a star ornament on top. See how it keeps changing?

This wall is tricky like that.

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

{graham plaid pillow/merry lumbar pillow – both on sale!}

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

Some of my favorites.. Addison wouldn’t stop crying so I gave her a bagel trying to distract her but she just cried harder with bread in her mouth. Ha. In 2010 we added our little buddy. That might be my favorite pic of all because I love the way Ellie is watching him. She was so excited to introduce Kole to Santa! I remember that day like it was yesterday.

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

Growing up and looking older..

Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)Santa Picture Wall (Sunny Side Up)

The Covid pic! A year to remember. I’m so glad we documented it with kids sitting on a bench 10 feet in front of Santa. Ha. Then last year.. my babies are looking so grown up. They humor me getting this picture taken every year because they know how much it means to me. I have a list of items to quickly grab if we ever have to evacuate for a fire and the Santa pics are my #1 item!

After the actual kids of course. :)

Christmas stairs (Sunny Side Up)

Across from the Santa pics are the stairs and I didn’t do much with them this year. I decorated them very last and was out of garland and out of energy. Ha. I just combined what was left of my favorite two garlands, added a little ribbon and done. (Didn’t even get to the top staircase!) I have some fun ideas for these stairs for next year. I’ll decorate them first and show them a little more love. :)

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

{pine hoop wreaths/woven jute runner/similar baskets}

Keep heading down the hall past our Santa pictures and you hit the mudroom! I added these cute pine hoop wreaths to each locker with a simple command hook. Looks so fun and festive! This woven jute runner is beautiful! Soft to walk on and I love how much it warms up this space.

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

So many fun things to do with wreaths! I linked some other fun options below.

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

{similar red throw here & here/velvet pillow/plaid pillow here & here/mini wreath}

A simple throw and favorite holiday pillows on my bench. Got my red fix in this room. :)

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

So many cute holiday pillows are on sale right now! Here are a few favorites marked down..

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

{winter tree linen scroll/feathery pine tree}

I added more of my favorite feathery pine trees in this corner (they are also on sale!) and my winter tree linen scroll on the wall. Various shades of green? Absolutely.

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

I snapped this pic with my phone at night. Sometimes it’s easier to see at night in photos because this room gets a lot of light from different angles making it look shadowy in day time pictures. More garland over the doors! No wonder I ran out when I got to my stairs. :)

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

This picture is from last year. I used painters tape to put up our Christmas cards on these door frames and I’ll probably do the same thing this year.

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

There are three door frame options in this space so I have room to move to other doors if one fills up! I love having our holiday cards in this room because the garage door is right off of our mudroom so the second you walk into our house from the garage you see them all. Such a happy sight to walk into each day! I can’t wait until cards start coming in the mail. December is the one month of the year I volunteer to get our mail.. Kenny is on mail duty January through November when it’s mostly bills and junk. ;)

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

{similar swag here & here/similar runner}

Last year I put these swags on our lockers.

Christmas Mudroom (Sunny Side Up)

They were cute but I like these little hoop wreaths better for this space. I love holiday decorating. So fun to mix things up every year!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! It went by too quickly didn’t it!? I’m so happy I have one more full day of pie and Christmas pjs.

Monday I’ll hit the treadmill. Or maybe Tuesday.

Or maybe in January with the rest of the world.

:)

Gift Ideas

*This post sponsored by Walmart. All product selections and opinions are my own!

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{kitchen sources}

Sharing some fun gift ideas for the people in your life who love to cook! Or for people in your life who are like me and don’t love to cook but do it sometimes anyway because you have a family who likes to eat. :)

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Have you seen BEAUTIFUL by Drew Barrymore at Walmart? Beautiful is the perfect name for this line of cookware. Practical meets pretty! Each item comes in several colors including black. I love the white with gold details! So gorgeous to have sitting out in the kitchen.

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{portable blender/6 QT slow cooker}

Love this portable blender. A gift for my Addison this year because she loves to make anything that resembles a pink drink or refresher. :) The slow cooker is a gift to me from me! Aside from loving how stylish it is check this out. Lid on..

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

And lid off. This slow cooker has a lot of great features but the lid rest! Genius! It had me at hello.

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{extra large griddle}

We were so due for a new griddle and this is a beautiful option! It’s large (you can make LOTS of pancakes on this baby!) but also slim so it’s easy to store.

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{cast iron heart shaped dutch oven}

Is this not the cutest little heart shaped dutch oven!? My mom has a simmer pot recipe she always throws together this time of year to make the house smell good (I’ll have to share that soon!) and I was thinking this would be such a fun little pot to use for that. It’s perfect for treats in February too!

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{set of 3 bowls}

This is a nice set of mixing bowls which in my opinion always makes a great gift. (Love the colors!) I’ve given a set of mixing bowls for gifts in the past with some cute dish towels or wooden spoons. Items everyone can use!

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

These are just some of the fun items in this collection. There is also a beautiful hand mixer, blender, toaster, air fryer, etc. All perfect gift options!

Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{SOURCES}

I rounded up some other fun gift ideas from Walmart below! Fun options for women and teen girls (Addison loves the nail polish, hairdryer brush and the slipper socks – all gifts from a previous Christmas). :) I’ll share gift ideas for men/boys soon too!

Enjoy your Saturday! Is anyone else still stuffed and living in pj pants? Aside from pie we had tons of cheesecake left over from my holiday party and I legit feel like I could go a week without eating after everything I’ve downed this past week! Jeans are going to be tight for a while. Good thing I have lots of Christmas pjs to rotate right about now. :)
