The tree and mantel in my family room are done! I kept things simple and classic this year and you’ll recognize a lot of these ornaments because I use them again and again! The shelves behind my tree are NOT done.. ha. I just set a few things there when I was decorating and then remembered after I took pics that I still need to style them. I have a few rooms and spots that are still in complete chaos around here. Holiday decorating is a marathon, not a sprint. At least for me anyway. I start early and end late! On purpose so the decorating can last a while. :)

The only new addition on my tree this year is the red bows. I’m having so much fun with red after a few years of neutral holiday decor in our most lived in rooms! I feel like the lit candles add so much to every tree when I add them. Such a favorite!

Here is this year’s mantel! I might still add something above the mirror and I might not. I can’t decide! But I wanted to share how it’s looking now if you need ideas!

Ignore the weird lighting.. it was cloudy when I took these pics! I used my two favorite garlands again. You can mostly see the cedar garland but if you look in person there is a lot of norfolk garland mixed in too. I love it off to the side and can’t quit that look so the garland is similar to last year.

I added garland over my mirror and topped it with a red bow. Then I mixed in the cute copper houses I shared earlier, a variety of gold trees and gold candle holders with my favorite battery operated candles.

I also added some of the same gold ornaments I have on my tree in the corner of the garland (just attached them with twist ties!) It was such an easy way to add a little something extra.

I had no clue what I was dong with my mantel when I started it (I never do!). I just started adding things and playing with it and this is where things landed. I thought this bead garland might look weird hanging below the cedar garland and assumed I’d try it and then take it back down, but I actually love the way it turned out. Kind of fancy! :)

My kids are THRILLED I brought back our actual stockings. These are the stockings we have always had since they were little and use on Christmas morning. The past 4-5 years I have mixed up our mantel with neutral stockings and just bring these out on Christmas Eve.

I hung the kids’ stockings on this ladder next to the mantel. They are smaller! Easy for Santa to fill every year. :) Does anyone reading remember the story of how we came up with Kole’s name? It has to do with his stocking and I shared it on my blog years ago! If you do remember thank you for hanging with me so long. ;) I’ll have to share it again at some point. I can’t see these little stockings and not think about it!

Cutest pillow pairing. The green bow pillow I ordered back in October when it first came out and I couldn’t buy it fast enough! It was just marked down 50% off and I’m sure will be gone soon. I hope some of you get a better deal on it! Still no regrets over here. I’m a sucker for green. And bows. :)

Now it’s time to just enjoy this space! I will be sad to take this mantle down.. it’s already making me so happy. I saw a funny reel on IG about decorating for Christmas early and all the lights and the person who made it said his light bill could power a small country but he was buying serotonin, not electricity.. ha ha.. isn’t that the truth!? Holiday decor is just HAPPY. If decorating early and going overboard for Christmas is wrong then I don’t want to be right. :)

Happy November everyone! Ahhhh! It’s TIME! Bring on Thanksgiving and Christmas and all of the parties and celebrations and events in-between! I used my two favorite garlands again (cedar garland and norfolk pine garland) and both are on sale through the weekend! Then I added some eucalyptus berry picks and this pretty red velvet bow. I also tied thin red ribbon around the top of my birch trees. It’s all about the details right!?

I also put together this cute arrangement on my island. LOVE these red berry stems! I know they will sell out quickly because they are so pretty and a great price. I have 3 bundles in this vase! This snowfall candle smells like holiday heaven and the sleigh! Such a fun spot to drop holiday cards! Easy to pick up and go through them anytime if you don’t want to hang them up.

Mini Wreath

Another happy spot with fun trees and a candle that is seriously the most perfect holiday scent. I can’t imagine November and December without it! My family loves it too. Whenever they walk in the house and I have this candle burning they rave about it and say NOW it smells like Christmas time. :)

Happy Saturday! I made some major decorating progress this week! Trees are up (half way decorated), wreaths are up and garland is half way up. I only have a little time to decorate each day so it takes me a couple of weeks to get it all done. I get so excited to have it finished so I can just enjoy it! Wreath with Ribbon

I originally ordered the smaller size but it was too small for my windows so I went with the large wreaths and might use this smaller wreath on my front door. I couldn’t photograph it well against the window light which is why you’re seeing it hanging on my fridge/freezer. Looks kind of cute there right!? If only we didn’t have to eat. I wonder what my boys would say if they wandered into the kitchen to get food and saw this. It probably wouldn’t surprise them that much. Ha.

Realistic Garland

I also ordered some new garland I’m loving! This cedar garland mixed with this Norfolk garland have been my go-to’s for a while now, but I wanted to try something new in my bedroom. I ordered a few options from Amazon and this realistic garland was such a win! It’s so thick and full! Very realistic looking and I got these two 9 foot strands for such a steal. It comes in a 6 foot version too. I’m excited to style it!

I can’t stop reaching for this cute Free People set! I’m a little obsessed and now have it in 3 colors. It’s just SO comfortable and cute! I love that I can work from home in it all day in my slippers and then toss on sneakers to pick up Kole and run to activities/errands and look put together. It’s basically a pj outfit. I’m a fan. :)

3 – NIGHTSTANDS

I ordered some new nightstands for Ad’s bedroom (still looking for some for El’s) and about died when they arrived. In 50,000 pieces! I had no idea they would be such a project.

Kenny just shook his head and got to work. He’s a good man. :) This was half way done.. looking more like two little chairs!

And DONE! He said they weren’t difficult to assemble.. just time consuming. I will say that I LOVE them. They were so worth it!

Dimmable Uplight

The lights that came inside my ghosts weren’t very bright and I couldn’t figure out how to really light them up at night so I asked for ideas in IG stories and lots of people suggested up lights! I did some digging on Amazon and ordered these to try.

My large ghost needed two so I set one on an older vase to give it some height so it would light the ghost up at the top!

I added one in each of the smaller ghosts too. They work so well! I have a feeling I’ll be using them during the holidays for lots of things. They also come with a remote and you can dim the lights if you don’t want them so bright. Love that they are next to the canned goods making sure my ghosts don’t tip in the wind. There is a lot going on under each of these ghosts.. ha!

6 – HARRY POTTER

We have had a busy week with lots of dinners and events and Kenny’s office Halloween party. He is the partner in charge now so some of the staff at his law firm asked him to be Harry Potter.. ha. I loved seeing all of their costumes!

So creative and fun!

Kole and I swung by to say hi quick in-between his after school activities. We didn’t dress up.. just there for the free food and candy. ;)

Bring on Halloween and more skittles please! It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Time for Saturday 6! On a Sunday. :) I’m off a day with my weekend posts but for good reason! I’m a little busy decorating and have a full on holiday explosion going on at my house with Halloween in one room, fall in another and Christmas going up in the rest. This hallway is actually quite tidy compared to the rest of the rooms! October is always a funny month in my house. The mess is messing and I’m here for it! :)

If like me you are a serious holiday decorator this is my best tip! Get a basket or tray (I linked the one I’ve been using but anything works!) and fill it with all of your decorating supplies. Every year I carry a basket with me like this from room to room and it’s so nice to have everything I need to decorate at my fingertips! I don’t have to waste time running to get items I need. It’s especially nice when I’m going up and down on my ladder hanging garland or attaching things to high spaces. Another tip is to use gloves when you fluff tree branches and hang garland. After years of scratching and cutting my hands and ruining my fingernails I finally ordered a pair and it has been a major game changer! I linked everything I use when I decorate for Christmas above and you can also find all basket items linked in one place here (including my beloved bat scissors because I always decorate for Christmas in October.. ha).

This long time favorite tree board is back in stock AND on major sale! It’s the first item in my Amazon Christmas favorite folder because I use it so much every year during the holidays for get togethers with friends or just movie night with the fam.

I like to cut out parchment paper to fit inside and then just toss any food inside!

It’s easy to layer items and give it a tree look. Especially if you add some green. :)

4 – RECENT FASHION

Baggy Fleece Joggers / Matching Jackets / Slippers

The baggy jogger/sweats continue to be a hit! Ad loves them too (I knew she would!) and she took two pairs I bought back to Texas with her after her quick visit! Then we realized they come with matching jackets so we ordered those too! I have 3 colors of these sweat pants and plan on living in them this winter. They run BIG so definitely size down! Ad is wearing an xs and I’m wearing xxs in the pants and we both ordered xxs in the jackets. (She is 5’1 and I’m 5’3 1/2 for height reference.)

I wore this Saturday for lunch with Kenny downtown and then we met some friends to see a play. I wanted to share this cute skirt because I think it would be so fun for the holidays with the cute bows! I have it in grey too and it looks cute with a black top. I wore flats because I knew we would be walking around a lot, but you could easily dress this skirt up more with tall boots or heels and a sparkly holiday top!

I picked Kenny up at the airport before heading over. He was in Boston all last week for work.. so happy to have him home again. :)

5 – SILK FOR THE WIN

Moisture Veil Silk Emulsion

I recently added another Colleen Rothschild product to my favorites list! Love this silk emulsion moisturizer! I don’t love the feel of oily products, but this is different. It’s a milky texture that doesn’t feel too oily.. it’s really lightweight and gives my skin a dewy look. Such a good moisturizer. I’ve been putting it on in the am with my sunscreen. I wanted to share because it’s 25% off through today for the friends and family sale! All of my CR favorites are on sale today. I’m giving this and the detox mask I love to a few friends for Christmas. :)

6 – MINI WREATHS

SO many cute mini wreaths are popping up on-line and I try to share options with you in October because mini wreaths are one of the holiday items that always sell out quickly! This wreath above is so full and beautiful! It comes with a bell and bow I haven’t put on yet, but it’s a little pricey for a mini wreath. It’s fine if you just need one like I did, but I linked some other cute options from Amazon and Target that cost less if you want to buy more than one!

These long time favorite wreaths a little more pricey too, but so beautiful and I’ve had them for years. Sometimes I use them plain and sometimes I add a ribbon. This year they come with a cute ribbon on them already! They usually sell out by the end of October.
