Christmas Dining Room (all grown up!)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Holidays always go by too fast don’t they?  We have had the best few days with family in Utah.. so good I kept forgetting to even pick up my phone.  It has been nice!  We’re heading back to San Diego and while I was sad to say good-bye to family I’m excited to go home because my house is decked and ready for the holidays!  Best feeling ever walking into a Christmas wonderland. :)  Speaking of.. I have lots of pics to share!  I’m starting with my Christmas dining room.  Ever since I planked the walls and painted them white this has been my favorite room in the house.  It was so fun throwing a dinner party and using this space last week!

I feel like my new navy sideboard table and Hot Cocoa sign made this space feel all grown up!  (Details on my sign in this post and how you can get one for 15% off!)

I started this little Hot Cocoa Station tradition the first Christmas in our new house and my kids look forward to it every year.  Hard to believe that was 5 years ago!

The candy in these bowls never last long.  I’d love to blame my kids but you know.  I work from home.. so there’s that.

Warm and Delicious.  Freshly Made.  Served Daily.  Don’t mind if I do.  I’ll pay for it in January but let’s worry about that later.  Because it’s Christmas!  Worrying about things later is part of the joy. :)

A shot of the whole Christmas dining room the day of my pajama party.  I will be so sad to take down the Christmas touches in this room!

We are entertaining a lot this month so I wanted to keep the table centerpiece simple and low so people could chat.  This Eucalyptus Garland was perfect!  I keep two of them on the table when there are no plates, but one was all I needed after I added all of the dinner dishes.

I had the tall candles and then added these cute little mug candles from Target.  The candle light makes the table so cozy when it’s dark!  I also found these fun matching placements (some of my wood chargers cover the design!).  The red stripe napkins from PB are also a new addition this year (I’ve been wanting them for years!) and are so cute with my flatware stockings.  These Kate Spade plates are long time favorites but I also found these red rim plates that are so nice and almost identical.  I used them on my other table for my pj party!

Another fun new addition this year is the matching Eucalyptus wreaths on my built-in cabinets.  (Similar wreaths here.)

Such a simple, easy way to dress up cabinets and windows!  I just tied some festive ribbon around this wreath and tied it to my cabinet latch.

Speaking of my dining room looking all grown up.. my new wall mirrors make such a difference!  The mirrors and the tall end chairs draw your eye up and make the whole room feel bigger.  And as if that didn’t make me love the room enough already..

Christmas Dining Room (Sunny Side Up)

I decided to move my little Snowflake mudroom Christmas tree to this corner.  I might have done a happy dance when I turned the lights on for the first time.. could not love it in this room more!  Every room just looks better with a Christmas tree in it doesn’t it!?  It does.  (You all weren’t answering fast enough so I went ahead and answered for you.) ;)  It’s the reason my house is turning into a faux Christmas tree farm.. ha!  Kenny is thrilled.

Seriously though.. perfect for that little corner right!?

Christmas lights just might be my favorite thing ever.

I hope you like the new additions to my dining room!  So excited to entertain more in this space.  I honestly wish I could have you all over for dinner and get to know each one of you this holiday season.  I’d let you do most of the talking since you already know me.  And my family.  And what the inside of my bathroom drawers look like. ;)

I have a feeling that we’d all get along famously.

I might have to buy a few more stripe napkins and red rimmed plates, but if you’ll bring the side dishes.. consider it done.

:)

The tall chairs were from Wisteria, the farmhouse table is from Restoration Hardware and the dining bench was made custom.  I’ve linked to a couple of similar less expensive options below!

  1. What a delightful space, Erin! It just warms my heart how pretty it is. Cozy, too. A wonderful space for parties or intimate gatherings. If I were a decorator (believe me, I am NOT) and had the space, I’d be thrilled to add some of these touches to my space. But I can admire the heck out of what you create and dream pretty dreams. So lovely. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

    1. You are too kind Jeanne! I’m so happy to hear you think it looks cozy. I always aim for cozy. ;) I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and enjoyed a few days off of work! Monday will be rough around here, but such a nice break from the routine. Thanks again! Your kind comment made my day! :) xo

  2. You have decorated this room so beautifully. My favs are the new mirror and the texture and warmth of the rug. It’s so stunning and I am sure you will enjoy many special memory making moments in this room with family and friends. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you so much Cindy! I looked at a lot of arm chairs for this room and really just wanted something large and comfortable! I ordered mine on-line so I took a chance on the comfort, but they have been great so far! :)

  4. Just beautiful! It reminds me of something Joanna Gaines would do. I love how you decorate and make things special for your family.

    1. Well that’s about the best compliment anyone could ever get. Both of them! :) Thank you so much Kathy! That made my day. I’m so happy you like the dining room! xo

  5. I really love this space! The shiplap and the mirrors make such a huge difference and that tree is perfect there! Can’t wait to see more of your holiday decor :-)

    1. Thank you Dina! That Santa pillow was from PB a few years ago and they don’t make it anymore! Such a bummer.. one of my favorites! :) Happy holidays! xo

  6. This room is just gorgeous! I love the shiplap – it is perfect addition to make an already lovely room just that much lovelier!

  7. This is just beautiful, Erin! So cozy and beautifully festive. I can imagine how happy you were/are to see all the details come together. I’d love to enjoy a nice chat and cup of hot chocolate in there!! :) Thank you for sharing. Happy almost December!

  8. Omg I love that hot cocoa setup! You just inspired me to do the same! Normally my Christmas decor theme is neutral (cream, gold, bronze and silver) but I think this year I’ll do that in the living room/dining room but do red and cream in the family room and I know exactly where my hot cocoa set up will go! My husband thanks you in advance! 😜

  9. Erin your dining room is everything I could dream of ;) We are currently putting an addition on and remodeling. This is the route I would love to go with when purchasing a new dining set. Could you tell me the color you went with for the RH dining table? Also end chairs, I noticed the legs match the color of the table. LOVE! The chairs you listed have dark legs. Are these the exact chairs you purchased or are they different? If so would you remind letting me know which they are? Thank you SO much!
    Joan
