Christmas in the Kitchen (a start!) Sunny Side Up

I hope your weekend is off to a good start! Michael Bublé and I have been hanging so mine certainly is. :)

(Really the two of us have been together since early October.. I just now feel like I can actually admit that.)

Christmas in the Kitchen (a start!) Sunny Side Up

I don’t usually love messes but flocking is definitely an exception. A sign that Christmas is going up! I’m off to a good start in the kitchen.

{pine garland here or here/snowy cedar garland/cedar garland}

I combined two garlands on the shelf over my oven and I’m so excited about how they look together! The cedar and pine are such a beautiful combo! I’m in love. This is the snowy cedar garland and it’s definitely messy going up! But once it’s in place the flocking stays in place! If you don’t want the initial mess the cedar garland without the snow would give you the same look.

So pretty right!? I love the way the pine garland hangs in-between the cedar. Holiday perfection!

{holiday tree shaped board}

This wreath is an old favorite (I’ll link similar options below!) and the cute tree board is too. It always feels like Christmas in the kitchen as soon as my white tree board makes an appearance. :)

{JOY trivet}

This pretty JOY trivet is a new favorite! Perfect for holiday cooking and it looks beautiful when not in use!

These two candles are my favorite this season! I love them so much and picked up a couple extra of each for gifts. So pretty and they both smell AMAZING.

{antiqued metal tray}

I wanted to do something fun with my gold metal tray I always keep in my kitchen so I cleared it off and pulled out a few holiday favorites! I laid this pretty faux eucalyptus swag on the tray and then just layered candles and trees in-between. So easy! (I linked other swag options below.. they make decorating trays so simple!)

It’s beautiful.. especially at night! Remote candles of course so I don’t need to worry about burning my house down. I worry about that enough with my cooking. ;) And yes.. I take the wreath down when I cook! Safety first.

Just a few small touches but we are off to a good start in this space! My nails are green from all of the garland I’ve been hanging so I’d say we are off to a good start in most spaces. Ha. More to come soon! Michael is calling. :) Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. Oh so pretty, Erin! The mess is definitely worth the finish. Beautiful kitchen looking so festive for the holidays! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!

  2. You’ve often said you’re not an enthusiastic cook, but surely if you ever turn on a burner under those garlands they will either melt into dripping goo if plastic or set your beautiful house on fire if real.

    1. Hi Susan! I cook several times a week (low key easy meals) and we haven’t had an issue! I’ve been decorating my kitchen this way with garland over my stove for 10 years now. The shelf is really high above the burners. :)
