Prepped for the first day

First day of school tomorrow!
The backpacks are ready and lunches are packed.
Outfits for the week have been carefully selected by two excited and slightly nervous little girls.
(I’ll share my new system for organizing them soon!)

The freezer is organized!  Yes.  I realize this has nothing to do with back to school, but it made me feel good to announce it nonetheless.

School supplies are loaded in the car (along with a box of tissues for me), kids are getting a good night’s sleep and I’m off bed myself.  Waking up extra early tomorrow so I can see my babies start 1st and 3rd grade.  What!?  Maybe I should snag a few of those tissues now.

Goodbye summer!  Goodbye to carefree mornings in pajamas.
You will be missed most of all.

xoxo, Erin

  1. Happy first day to your girls!! We start next week, but I’m already sad about losing those PJ mornings. That just screams summer, doesn’t it? Good luck!

  2. Kinda looks like what we’ve got going on this morning! We’re ready to go and it’s my oldest’s first grade orientation!!! Where did time go. I recently did the freezer and refrigerator cleanup as well and oh what a feeling! :) Who would’ve thought that a clean and organized fridge and freezer would make my day…

  3. I have been organizing my children’s clothes on Sunday nights for the entire week for years. I LOVE how much time and stress it saves me in the mornings (especially since I’m not a morning person).
Each Sunday night, I pull out their clothes for the week, including undies and socks. Each outfit goes into a hanging organizer that has each of the days of the week labeled. This makes it easy for my children to dress themselves. This year, my son is going to start choosing his own clothes. Last night, we worked together on organizing everything into his bins for the week.

I also find packing lunches the night before makes mornings much more hassle-free.

  4. Where does the time go? We have been in school for 2 weeks now. I do the same thing! We pick out clothes for the week on Sunday and makes the weekdays so much easier. I love your girls clothes and looks just what my daughter likes to wear. Where do you buy most of their clothes?

  5. I would love to know where you got all their cute clothes. I need to find a couple more outfits for my little girl to wear to school.

  6. I’m with Beth and Jenny W– I’d LOVE to know where you buy the girls’ dresses! My daughter (4) loves to wear soft cotton dresses, but I can never find ones that are good quality/a decent price!
