Ellie and Addison

Sick Day

{6:00 a.m. – watching Little Bear}

It started with Addison. It always does. I knew we were in trouble when she came home Friday with a stuffy nose. I knew it would only be a couple of days before it spread to her chest. (She has childhood asthma. Catches anything and everything and it always ends up affecting her lungs.) What I didn’t know is that this time Ellie and Kole would also catch the bug. Bless their little hearts. I hate seeing my babies sick.

Kids didn’t sleep well last night…Kenny and I didn’t sleep well last night. Lots of coughing and sneezing and hugging and rocking and comforting. No fevers yet (thank goodness). We’re taking it easy today and not leaving the house. Hopefully everyone will get to take a nap today. Hopefully everyone will feel better tomorrow.

xoxo, Erin

  1. sorry to hear about your sick kids – that’s the worst. hopefully you can all rest in your pj’s, watch a few movies and get a good nap.

  2. Oh, so hard to see your little ones sick. Hope they get feeling better soon – they are so sweet. Hope you have a restful day and you stay healthy.

  3. Yuck- that’s so hard when they all get sick. Not much worse than a sick little one. Good luck- hopefully everyone will be much better tommorow.

  4. we’re right there with ya! we caught the bug in our house on friday- and now both kids are sick…and we’re not sleeping. :-( hang in there. (((hugs)))

  5. You can totally see “the sickness” in Kole’s little watery eyes! Sorry Erin!! I asked Marc where you were today because he always gets the 411 from Kenny, and he thought you were sick too! I hope not!

    BTW, you and Kathleen and Katy are cracking me up (seriously laughing!) over the “casual wear.” You guys haven’t even seen half the casual wear yet! I am so happy that I have “casual” options in my closet! :) If anyone ever needs Yellow-rock wear, I’m the source! ha ha!!!

  6. Oh…..That is a hard picture to look at. I can see it in every one of their eyes that they don’t feel very well. And 6:00 a.m.? Oh my goodness that is early.
    Makes me want to get on the first flight down there. Hope you all got some much needed rest today. Wish I lived right next door. :(

  7. Same crap at our house! Except my kids have been PUKING not stop since this morning. As with you, Jaiven got a stomach ache Wed puked Thursday and I just braced myself for the worst. Yep, both Raylee and Maycee got it too. Boo for being sick.. boo for our poor babies and boo for us Mom’s (and Dad’s) getting NO SLEEP!!!

    Hope everyone starts feeling better around your house (and mine!!)

  8. Hi Erin,

    Oh I am sorry your little ones are all sick. It is so hard to see your kids sick. Even colds, I would always do anything to take it for them.

    Hope they are on the mend soon and that you and your hubby stay healthy too!

  9. Erin, I so enjoy reading your blog and seeing your beautiful family. I live in Arizona and have two children, a son who is in 1st grade and a daughter who is in 3rd. My daughter had terrible asthma and has special needs. Every time we turned around she was getting sick and then the asthma would start, and then all the other issues would be exacerbated. I took her to a specialist in town and he recommended Juice Plus, which is fruits and veggies in a capsule or gummy. Once she got going on the Juice Plus we were able to get her off her daily meds and she rarely gets sick anymore. I know how stressful it can be when kids get sick, especially when asthma is involved, and wanted to share my website: http://www.nutritionwithjennifer.com. Kids four and up are free with an adult through our non-profit. Hope this helps and hope they are feeling better!
