Friday Favorites

It's Friday my friends!  Woot woot!  Sharing a few favorites today.  Loving Loreal's Sublime Bronze tanning lotion and towelettes.  A friend gave me the towelettes for a b-day gift and I liked them so much I decided to buy the lotion.  I don't use this stuff that often, but in the summer if we have a trip coming up or I know we're going to be spending a lot of time at the beach or pool it's nice to take the edge off of my ever so fair legs.  Don't want to scare anyone after all.  :)  What I like about this particular tanner is that it shows up instantly.  You can make sure you're getting it even and exactly how dark you want it.  Love that!  You can find it on-line here or at Tarjet.

Shared this favorite tumbler on Instagram.  It's been my bff all summer.  I've found I drink more water if I have a cute cup.  :)  I've seen a lot of fun tumblers lately and I think they would make a great gift for someone in the summer time.  Wanna know my secret for drinking a lot of water every day?  I fill this up every time I'm leaving in the car.  I've found that between the three kids and everything we have going on we are in the car A LOT.  It's a great trick.  As long as you're ok running to the bathroom every time you drop the kids off somewhere.  :)

Speaking of fun cups, this mug my mom bought my dad for their 40th wedding anniversary cracked me up!  I couldn't find it on-line, but you can find similar mugs with funny sayings on them here.  I think every married man needs one of these.

Have you all tried these yet?  They are silicone muffin/cupcake baking pans and they are so cool!  And a little strange.  A friend of mine (who knows that all I can really cook well are these banana bread muffins)  :) gave me these baking pans for my birthday back in March.  They are so flexible and bend easily so you have to really hold them carefully when they're full, but they are SO easy to clean!  I'm usually soaking my muffin pans forever and then scrubbing each little circle way longer than I'd like to after cooking.  These you just rinse off!  I'm a fan of anything I can clean in less than 10 seconds.  :)

Hands down my favorite summer shoes.  Havaianas 'Slim' flip flops.  And living in San Diego, I've tried out a lot of flip flops.  :)

And last but certainly not least, these notepads for just $3 each are probably my favorite TJ Maxx purchase to date (which is saying a lot!).  They speak my truth.  :)

Happy Friday everyone!

Love that mug! And the list notebook, all of the items in fact!! I really really loved my silicone muffin trays for baby food when my little people were babies. Great size and whatever I had frozen popped out so easily! Have a great weekend, Friday night here in Oz :)Emma

Hey, Erin!
So glad you all are enjoying your summer! We leave for vacation in two days and it is definitely needed! Your house is coming along beautifully. I would love to live there with you - haha!
Just a few quick questions today as I'm preparing and packing for our trip. I, too, am very pale and have been wanting to try that L'Oreal tanning stuff. Since I will mostly be in shorts and sundresses, I could use some color on my legs! Is the lotion just temporary and it comes off in the shower (or pool)? Or does it last a few days? What about the towelettes? And do you use them together? How?
Thanks for any advice you can provide! I always look forward to your posts. Yours is my all-time favorite blog! Take care and talk to you soon!

I use the same self tanner in the Spring and then keep using it to "enhance" whatever tan I have. I also mix it with the Banana Boat one, it looks very natural. Now I want to find a fun mug too:)

Emma - great idea to use those for baby food!

Hi Shannon! So fun hearing from you! Ok - the tan lotion is temporary, but it doesn't come off in the shower or pool. I lasts several days and then gradually fades off. I don't use them together - just one or the other. I would recommend you try the lotion. If you put a little on your legs each day (or every other day) during your trip you will have a nice tan the whole time. It's really easy to use - just like putting on lotion. You can see how dark it is so if you want your legs darker, just apply more.
Have fun! Thanks for your sweet words about my blog. Means a lot! :)

Pinky - I'll have to try mixing it with Banana Boat!

Thanks everyone! Enjoy your weekend! :)

I bought a pair of Havaianas at Kitson and I have to agree that they are the best flip flops. My favorites too. The mug made me laugh. Love it!

Have a great weekend!!

Set your silicone muffin pan on a cookie sheet, and slide it into the oven right on that.

Hi, Erin, Enjoy your blog! This is not about Friday Favorites, but about your house build. How many can lights do you have in each room or more specifically - total? We are building and I'm a big fan of can lights, but afraid I'm doing too many!! Thanks a bunch! Heather

Thank you Cathy and Jane! xx

Anonymous - good idea! Trying that next time. Thanks!

Heather - thank you! Oh my word - I have NO idea how many lights we have total. I'm a big fan of can lights too though and don't know if you can ever have too many. ;) In our kitchen we have ten cans and in our family room we have eight. In smaller rooms like our powder room we only have one can light (there are also fixtures, pendants, etc. in these rooms). It just totally depends on the size of your room and what other lighting (if any) you have in the space. Our electrician helped us a lot by telling us what he would recommend so definitely ask your electrician/lighting person. I'm not sure if that helped or not? Good luck with your house!

Love the mug your Mom gave your Dad on their anniversary:)

I saw that you came by to visit yesterday, but it looked like you tried to leave a comment but may not have pushed 'send'?

Have a great weekend, Erin. I am really enjoying your blog!
