1 – VASE/TULIPS

Happy Saturday! It’s still April but May madness is hitting hard at our house. Yours too? Hold on tight if you have kids in school! It aways amazes me how quickly it gets busy with all of the school activities picking up. And then winding down! I’m kicking off Saturday 6 with this beautiful ruffle vase! I’m pretty excited about it because I’ve had my eye on it at a more expensive store/price and it was backordered. I found the same vase on Amazon for less and it came so fast and it’s gorgeous! More of a sage green color than it looks on-line and perfect for real or faux tulips! They just drape off all of the ruffles so beautifully. Spring/summer perfection. :)

2 – BATHROOM ORGANIZATION

El’s vanity makeover from last week led to a full clean out of my girls’ bathroom. It was in desperate need of a little love! Especially this spot under Ad’s sink. Why are pencils in this cupboard? I stopped even asking questions like that a long time ago. Ha.

BIG improvement in little time. I love makeovers like that.

These jars  are perfect to hold elastics/scrunchies. I’ve had them for a while in a different drawer and they have worked well for the girls when they remember to put everything back in them!

I ordered this makeup palette organizer to hold extras (note to self.. girls have more than enough eyeshadow).

I also ordered this under the sink organizer to add a little vertical storage.

If I would have had room I would have used the clear lazy susan that I have under my bathroom sink because it holds a lot more, but it was too wide to still fit make-up and elastics.

These clear drawers are another great option for under the bathroom sink!

3 – CAR ORGANIZATION

I also gave my car a good clean out this week! And then I rounded up my favorites for car organization here. I’m having so much fun setting up Amazon folders with all of the items we use/love! As you know, categorizing like items has always been a favorite past time of mine. ;)

These are a few new things I’ve been loving in my car! The only one I haven’t used is the other option for a trunk organizer. If you are driving lots of kids to activities it looks like such a good option that hangs over the backseat! I love the spot for water bottles too. :)

4 – SPRING TOPS

On to some fashion.. loving this pretty top lately!

I wore it to lunch this week with friends.. we met with a big group but the 4 of us ended up lingering longer and had a good talk/cry together. We’re all very much in our feelings about our kids graduating and moving out. We raised our kids together from park time with toddlers to now. It seems so surreal that we’re at this stage!

And still are today. :) They went to a dance together last spring and had the best time.

5 – FAUX TREE

I snapped this pic quick with my phone and the lighting isn’t great but I wanted to give you an idea of what this cute faux tree looks like! I’m going to find a better pot for it that will add more height and I still need to fix the branches, but isn’t it cute and so realistic!? Perfect for a cozy corner in any room!

Happy Saturday! Sharing a few things going on around here today! Pics from a recent trip, lots of organizing, a book I’m loving and more. Feels good to be home! :)

1 – ZION

Sharing a few pics from my quick weekend in Zion National Park! I grew up in southern Utah about an hour away from Zion National Park and we spent lots of time here. If you’ve never been before definitely put it on your bucket list! It’s absolutely beautiful (especially in the spring when the weather isn’t too hot!).

Met my childhood/highschool besties for our annual girls trip! I could only fit in a weekend but something is always better than nothing and it was so fun spending time with these girls again! Love them.

Zion National Park is full of so many beautiful hikes! They remind me of my childhood. :)

Aside from hiking and eating we also spent some time at the spa.. so heavenly! I loved my facial and that chair was so comfortable I never wanted to leave it!

We stayed up chatting and laughing until we couldn’t keep our eyes open one more minute! Nothing like time with close friends. I’m so grateful I was able to get away to see them all again!

I also got to sneak in a day with my cute parents. Fun fact.. they met and fell in love at Zion National Park! They both worked summers there. Knowing that has always made me love the park even more.

When I got to my parents my mom had this on my bed. Stocked for another few months.. thanks mom! My beloved Cherry Ice Chapstick is always waiting on a pillow for me when I come home. :)

2 – ORGANIZED MAKEUP

After almost two weeks of traveling between college tours and my girls trip I came home feeling ready to scrub my house from top to bottom! So many spaces feel cluttered around here because we have just been busy. Ellie’s desk in her bedroom has been driving me crazy for months but she has been too busy to clean it so I just took charge a few days ago!

She has had these new brushes for months and we were waiting to open them when we got her vanity area cleaned.. they are my girls’ favorites for makeup!

I dumped everything from her desktop and drawers on her floor on a towel and started sorting! Then I organized all of her makeup in this fun organizer.

A little spot for everything! She is so excited about this.

3 – ORGANIZED JEWELRY

While I made major progress, her vanity makeover wasn’t quite complete! Today I tackled her jewelry. She has this cute jewelry box that she will take to her college apartment in the fall.

El especially loves earrings and this has been a great spot for them with so many drawers to hold them all.

But because she has been busy jewelry was popping up everywhere.. in bathroom drawers and on nightstands. I consolidated it all in this drawer and then ordered this set of jewelry trays because I want her to have a place to keep jewelry when she’s home.

Such a fun project!

Her desk is small so I could only fit 4 trays but it was just enough to hold everything. I was also able to fit a few longer eyeshadow palettes on the side. Thinking I’ll use those other 4 trays in my bathroom and do the same! I love this set up.

Now this will be such a great spot for her to get ready!

Angels are happy and so is El and so am I. :)

Felt so good to get that done! Addison saw it and now wants me to do the same in her room with her desk so that’s my thank you.. more work! Ha! Good thing it’s fun work I love. Bring it on. ;)

4 – HEART TALK

{Heart Talk}

We did a little favorite things party on my girls trip and each brought something we love to share with everyone. I bought each of them my favorite make-up bag so we can all travel in style. ;) My friend Angie brought is each this Heart Talk book and I’m LOVING IT! Have you read it!?

It’s full of little bits of wisdom and motivation and advice. You can read it all at once or a page a day.

I’m half way through it and it’s just so inspiring! I love that I feel like I can highlight and mark it up as I read it too. She wrote it in a way that it’s easy to add your own thoughts/notes.

I think it makes such a thoughtful gift too and plan on giving it to friends. It would be perfect for Mother’s Day!

5 – OLIVE TREE

I ordered this cute faux olive tree I share a few weeks ago and it arrived and I’m in love! It’s so beautiful and perfect in the corner of my family room! I wanted to take a pic to share but ran out of time so coming soon. I’m looking for a larger pot to put it in at the moment and will share it soon but 10/10 if you are debating it!

6 – AMAZON STOREFRONT

I’ve been working on setting up a place for all of my Amazon favorites to live (something I’ve wanted to do for years!) and am off to a good start! You can see my main storefront below. It includes folders I’m slowly setting up of all of the items we use/love for decor and organization along with fashion and sale items I’m loving. I hope this is helpful! What a week! We’ve had a lot going on with the kids and travel lately but I’m home and planted for a while and have the itch to spring clean every corner of my house! I sat down today and made a list. It’s ambitious to say the least.. ha. My garage especially needs some attention! I need a little motivation to start this weekend so I rounded up pics of a few organized drawers around here. Drawers are always my go-to when I’m feeling overwhelmed! You can spend 15-20 minutes cleaning out a drawer and get a quick win that feels so good and motivates more organizing. If you feel overwhelmed or don’t know where to begin just pull out a drawer and start sorting. Forward motion spurs on more forward motion! Below are favorite organizers for drawers in our home that make me happy and remind me that while there is still a lot to do, some areas of our home are organized and functioning quite well. ;)

Chatting about hats and hooks today! A topic only exciting for fans of organization. Or people who just really love hats. And hooks. :) The side of my cabinet that holds shoes in my closet has always felt like a great spot for vertical organization! I’ve wanted to add some hooks for years and it’s a project that just kept getting pushed back. I finally took some time to do it today and it took less than an hour! I can’t believe I put it off for so long! Above is the BEFORE..

Kind of funny.. I put this project off thinking it would be a pain because I wanted the spacing to be right. Figuring out the spacing actually took no time and was so easy. I knew I wanted to hang my go-to crossbody bag on the bottom so I just picked a good spot for the bottom hook with room for my bag to hang. (I used this command hook with two hooks on it so I can hang more items in the future.)

Next I added a single hook above the double bottom hook with enough height for my hat to hang and then I just copied that same spacing for the two hooks above it.

I used these simple black command hooks that can easily be removed if I ever want to change this!

I did a quick edit of hats and only kept these 3 that I wear often, but I can easily fit multiple hats on each hook if I ever want to add more. If you have lots of hats and need a different solution that holds more I rounded up a folder HERE of so many fun hat organization solutions! One option I just ordered for Kenny’s hats (he has a lot more than I do). I’ll share that as soon as I tackle his closet cupboard. Another to-do I’ve been putting off!

You can see how there is space between the side of the cupboard and the door to our bathroom. Just enough for hats and bags! :)

This felt so good to finish! I’m happy to report that I’ve been keeping this section of my closet organized too. My closet is taking me forever to finish, but I’m making sure that it’s easy to maintain as I go and that is the key to organization that sticks and makes life easier. One step closer to done! :)

Kenny’s hats are all over the place at the moment so I need to consolidate them. Some are in our closet and some are on this hook rack I put in his office a few years ago. That was when he was working from home more so it made sense to keep the hats in his home office. Now that he is going into his work office every day again it would be easier for him if they were back in our closet. But I wanted to share this hat organization solution if it’s helpful even though I’m about to change it! Below are a few more great ideas!

Vertical organization is my favorite and I’m a huge fan of using wall space to hang items! Last year I added this cute rattan rack to hang Kenny’s running/race medals. They were all piled in a drawer and I thought they should be displayed. :) This is just the side wall walking into his home office. You can see a peek of the fish tank he and Kole so lovingly take care of. Ha.

I loved it so much I decided to add one in Addison’s bedroom too!

It’s hanging on the wall when you enter her room. This space in rooms is a great spot for vertical organization because it’s usually just a blank wall when you enter a space.

A few other hooks in our home making life easier! My key hook that I made after we built our house and moved in. Finding our keys was such a daily struggle in our last home so I took care of that quickly by adding this simple 123 hook sign right when you walk in the door!

I also added hooks to the girls’ closets!

These hooks have 3 times as many bags on them now.. time for a beach bag edit!
