One of my bestie’s daughters is getting married! Time for a spring wedding shower.. again! We planned a beautiful wedding shower for her in my backyard with a blue and yellow theme (that matches my backyard) and then our always sunny forecast showed rain! Never fails. We wanted to set up large tables all together for the lunch and didn’t have room for them inside my house (without pulling out furniture!) so we had to quickly pivot the day before the party and move things to my other friend’s house. We went over the night before to set up and brought ALL the decor with us!
We also brought ALL the lemons. :) We rolled up our sleeves and got to work and a few hours later everything looked so beautiful! That night it rained and we were so grateful we made the decision to move the party inside so we were able to set up most of it the night before.

I kept thinking I needed to go through my closet or go to the mall and find something blue or yellow to wear and then was strolling through Target earlier in the week picking up some random household things and couldn’t believe my luck when I saw this cute dress! Hello spring/summer perfection! Looks like it’s straight out of Anthro and it fits so cute! Perfect for a lemon themed party, right!? You can wear it loose around the waist or tighter like I have it with the tie.

We were a little worried about the runners not working because originally we were going to use rectangle tables in my backyard, but I think they worked beautifully on the round tables and I love the stripes! Such a happy theme.

But I was obsessed with this! Have you seen the Diet Coke with lime!? I always add some lime to my DC.. genius. First time I’ve seen this and I guess it’s hard to find because it only comes back occasionally but it was so good.

Thank you so much Jodey! The dress definitely needed to be steamed when I bought it but it stayed wrinkle free all day! I kept it on for hours after the shower too. :)

I put this aside to read later yesterday. I wish I had read it right away. The beautiful pictures are so calming. Erin, put it aside because SO much I needed to get done. The horrid winter has left lots of damage and well, it is overwhelming. Short trip to the beach house (where the REAL damage is) I am close to throwing in the towel on home ownership of more than one house. Dealing with it all AND that HOA and property management co…..Well, lets just say I’m eating TUMS like candy!
Did I mention that I strongly dislike (H**e) HOAs!?!?
Anyway, enough of the gloom and doom. Your party! The bridal shower! OHMYGOSH! You gals should start a business! What a team! I just loved ALL the pictures and once again it occurred to me that you are so lucky to have this wonderful group of gal pals! Lucky and blessed.
Speaking of my vacay place, those colors, blue and white and yellow are MY colors in the beach place! Everything! Lemons, blue/white stripes, blue/white pottery…… blue and white plates. It is such a happy color scheme!
Anyway, congrats to you and the gal pals for hitting it home on the shower and best wishes to your friend’s daughter! I guess you never say congrats to the bride, WHY is that anyway???

Thank you Sherri! I’m so sorry to hear about the winter damage! Nooooo.. sounds so overwhelming. And don’t get me started on HOAs! I can only imagine with two homes! We have been thinking about buying a second home in Utah by family but I’m so torn. I know I would have a love/hate relationship with the situation! Homes are a lot of work.. ha. Hang in there and let me know if I need to ship you more TUMS.. I have a large supply myself. ;)
