Saturday 6

1 – ROSES

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Saturday and happy June! My roses wanted to say hello too. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

2 – FAMILY/POOL CHAIRS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Today’s post is full of life lately around here (with some fun finds mixed in!). I’m apologizing in advance for the massive picture dump!

We had such a fun weekend with my sister and her crew in town last weekend and the sand throughout my home this week was proof that it happened. Lots of good food and the kids lived at the beach!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Ad tried on her cap and gown since they couldn’t stay long enough to see her graduate.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

And we thanked grandma for the sweetest gifts she sent down with Aunt Carly. Natural Ice chapstick for me and a Starbucks gift card for Ad.. she knows us well. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{flamingo}

We are in our cloudy era at the moment but that doesn’t keep anyone away from the pool. Always a good day when our pink flamingo gets pulled out for another season. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{duck float/poolside chairs}

Kole picked up the duck float last year since he felt like the flamingo belonged to the girls. He wasn’t wrong. Ha. Aside from our flamingo and duck float we now have another pool accessory we can’t live without.. how perfect are these poolside chairs!? GENIUS. We especially love them in the evening when we hot tub because we like to stay out and visit for hours but it’s easy to overheat so there are always a couple of people taking a break and getting out to cool off.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Now we have a comfy spot to sit and visit with back support! These would also be perfect for sporting events or camping or tailgating. Easy to carry and they come in lots of colors. Such a game changer!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Always a good time when Aunt Carly comes to visit.

3 – PB FINDS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{faux mixed bundle}

This mixed bundle is so beautiful and on sale at the moment! It had to come home with me.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

So did these fluted tulip pots. So beautiful for summer. They come in white too!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{flickering flameless candles/shell vase filler/glazed terracotta bowl}

I thought this was so pretty for summer too! Just a bowl with shells and candles. Simple but it makes such a statement.

4 – WORKOUT CLOTHES

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{mesh workout tank/beyond yoga sports bras}

I have been on the hunt for good casual workout wear for our European trip because we are on bikes so much the first week! Love these cute finds and I’m especially excited about these sports bras. I tried one on and it was so comfortable and such a perfect fit I had to pick up one more!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Vuori sunrise racerback tank/Vuori ribbed cropped tee}

These are staples I already have in other colors.. picked up a few more for our trip!

5 – NORDSTROM SALE Nordstrom Semi Annual Sale (Sunny Side Up Blog)

Nordstrom’s Half Yearly sale is still going strong and there are so many cute things I have my eye on! Sizes are going fast so sharing a few fun summer options.

{Print Ruffle Sleeve Top , Tie Waist Straight Leg Ankle Jeans , Good America Always Fits Good Classic Straight Leg Jeans,Franco Sarto Flexa Carly Slide Sandal, Steve Madden Santana Slide Sandal, Tory Burch Fleming Soft Leather Chained Wallet , Tie Back Puff Sleeve Linen Dress, Floral Short Sleeve Maxi Dress, Inset Crystal Hoop Earrings, Tory Burch Small Kira Stud Earrings}

6 – LIFE LATELY/GRADUATIONS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Getting ready to watch our baby graduate from middle school! The past few days have been a blur of excitement winding down the last week of school. Parties, class Disneyland days, teacher gifts, a birthday, dinners and two graduations.. to say that we are tired at our house is an understatement. But we made it! It has been a May to remember.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{excite sandal}

I wore these cute heels for his graduation. Not the best angle/pic (ha) but they go with everything and are so cute for summer! Very comfortable for a heel too. I love them with my beloved Anthro jumpsuit.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

The 4 musketeers. :) Love these boys and I can’t believe how quickly they are growing up. They are starting high school in the fall and after having two girls go though high school I know how fast it flies! As sad as I am about my girls moving the upside is that I will really be able to focus on Kole and spend so much time with him. Whether he likes it or not. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Ad missed his graduation because she was at Disneyland with her senior class and then Kole went the next day with his classmates. Such different experiences for me that I had to laugh. Addison was texting me the whole day she was there.. sending pictures and video clips of her and her friends.. at one point they all called and chatted with me. I basically felt like I was at Disneyland with her! Then she came home and we stayed up late and I heard about everything in even more detail. Kole goes the next day and I sent him a few messages on the bus which he answered with one word answers. Yes. No. Fine. Then at the park he sends me a text saying “I’m here.. love you. Stop texting.”  Ha ha. That was the last time I talked to him until it was time to pick him up! He came home and again.. one word answers about his day. Yes. No. Fine.

What was I saying about that upside again?

This is going to be a MAJOR adjustment having my girls gone.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Ad turned 18 this week! Officially an adult! She kicked off the day with a free Pink Drink from Starbucks so she was living her best life.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{initial necklace}

My girls love initial necklaces as much as I do so I gave her this for one of her birthday gifts. So pretty! I love the layered look and it’s such a good price. I don’t think she’ll take it off all summer.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Cap decorating time! Bring on the glitter. These 3 besties got to work decorating their caps for gradation and they turned out so cute! Such a fun tradition.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Ad is off to Texas in the fall!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

She is excited and so are we. We are going to miss her terribly but I have no doubt exciting things are in her future.

Exciting things are in my future too! I’m buying cowboy boots and looking forward to lots of time at Magnolia. ;)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Her graduation was Friday and I went really early to wait in line at the gate so we could get good seats because she was speaking. The rest of my crew came later and saved me with a sandwich for lunch! I had a bag packed with an umbrella for the sun, a jacket if it was cool, water, my computer, tissues.. everything you could think of other than food! Ha.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Worth it being close enough to see this beautiful smile. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{puff sleeve linen dress/raffia sandals}

The ceremony went so well.. it was a perfect day and we are so proud of her.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Proud of all of her cute friends too and I won’t post too many of the friend pics we took today but these 2 are pretty much family at this point! :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

A couple shots from her senior pictures. I’ll be back to organizing and decorating all the things soon! Thank you for letting me take a break to share family events this month! So many of you have watched my kids grow up on the blog and the love and support you have given me and my family means so much. I’m forever grateful for my blog family! You have celebrated the good and helped me through difficult times more than you know. And to all moms of seniors this year I’m sending a huge hug! Without the tissues this time because I used them all.

Every. Last. One.

But I’m not sad anymore! I have Kole to keep me company and lots of deep conversations to look forward to.

;)

xoxo, Erin

  1. Congratulations to Kole and to Addison! So happy for them in their journey! And Happy Birthday to Addison. Such an exciting time. Thank you so much for sharing yoru family with us! Very exciting and bittersweet times to be sure. You are raising phenomenal young people and our world will be a little bit brighter with them in it. I wish you all an amazing summer together and then much success as they all venture forth on their respective paths for school. You and your husband are rightly very proud I’m sure. Your finds are wonderful too. I really liked the shells and candles. So pretty. Those white poolside chairs look amazing. Too bad they weren’t around when I was growing up around our pool. ;) Hope you can get a little rest in, Erin. You sure earned It!!

    1. Thank you so much Jeanne! So sweet of you! I feel like I could sleep for a week. Ha ;) Wish you could come over and sit poolside with me! Would be so fun to catch up and then we could both take a nap! xo

  2. Thank you for sharing your family updates. And best wishes to Ad at Baylor! Enjoy summer with her!

  3. Awwwwww…..I have been reading your blog for YEARS AND YEARS. Kole was a baby, I think. I’ve literally watched your family build your home, and your kids grow up. Kind of neat. Congratulations. Enjoy. I have twins, and boy, was it hard losing both kids at the same time to adulthood. But they are thriving and we have a great and close relationship. You are a great mom, this is all a fun new chapter for you all.

    1. Kelly! Your comment made me tear up! First because I’m so touched you have been with me so long! Thank you. And then thinking of sending twins off at the same time.. so hard on a mom’s heart! I’m thrilled to hear they are doing well and that you are still close! I know once we get past the initial change and sadness of not having the girls home every night we will all stay close and we have lots to look forward to, but it’s so nice to hear and be reminded of that during this sad part! Sending a huge hug your way! Thank you again. XO

  4. Erin,
    I just wrote a whole comment on your beautiful post with your most incredible, beautiful family. Something happened! Poof. Gone. Into cyberspace to turn up maybe 100 years from now!? OHMYGOSH no time to rewrite the entire thing!
    So, a “shortie” from me b/c of it! Very novel, I know ;)
    Congrats to ALL ♥Love♥ and many hugs from my house to yours!
    PS. don’t get TOO used to my “shortie post”!

    1. Thank you so much sweet Sherri! I love your comments! Long or short. ;) Always the best hearing from you and I’m feeling those hugs! XO

  5. Erin, I so enjoyed the pictures and monologue of the months events. It reminded me of my only child graduated a few years ago and now expect8ng her first child. Is Ad going to BU? I live right outside of Boston in a t8ny seaside town. My daughter attended tha5 collage.have a grea5 summer and bes5 of luck to your family.
    Best
    Marie

    1. Hi Marie! Thank you so much and huge congrats on your first grandchild coming! That’s so exciting! She is going to Baylor University in Texas.. that school just won her over! She’s so excited. :) XO

  6. Congratulations to you all, especially Addison and Kole. Exciting times ahead for Ad. Wishing her the very best. The last 2 photos, wow, she is a beautiful young lady. My baby graduates this year, October for us, then exams (I’m in Australia). High school done and dusted. Time flies.

    1. Thank you so much Rita! So sweet of you. Your baby! Time definitely flies. Wishing your family all the best and sending a huge hug and love this October! XO

  7. Boys are so funny! I have no girls and two boys both in high school (soon to be Senior and Sophomore). My kids provide no information and I think it’s just a boy thing. When they were little I would ask a girl mom from their class to let me know what was going on so I would know the important stuff! LOL

    Congratulations to Addison! They grow up so fast! I am jealous that you’ll be visiting Magnolia frequently! :)

    It’s been so fun watching your kids grow up while I’ve been raising mine. I feel like we are friends and we don’t even know each other!

    1. Holly you are the sweetest! Now I feel like we are friends too! And I’m laughing about you going to all the girl moms to find out what was going on.. that is totally what I’m going to have to do with Kole! Out of my element here. Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Means so much that you have been with me so long. Can you even believe how old our kids are!? It really does go by too quickly. Wishing you all the best with the rest of the high school years! Get some tissues ready.. Senior year is rough! Sending early hugs. :) XO

  8. Congratulations to the graduates! Such exiting times for Ad moving to Waco. I actually spent a semester at BU studying abroad and had the best time. :)

  9. Congrats to Kole and Addison! Addison is such a beautiful girl, she looks just like her mama :) Such an exciting time for you and your family! Enjoy you summer with them.
    Also, my neighbor just got those pool chairs and they are awesome! Their concrete around the pool can be a bit rough to sit on, so these are a game changer, not to mention having a backrest is great! Happy summer!!!

    1. Thank you so much Julie! You are so kind to say that. :) And yea for the pool chairs.. I’m happy to hear they love them too! Such a good find. Happy summer to you and your crew! xo

  10. I hope you’ll enjoy the summer with your family! What beautiful senior pictures of Ad. You mentioned she’s speaking at the graduation, did she receive academic honors? I’m also jealous you’ll be at Magnolia. It’s in my bucket list. You’ll have to share the details of where you stayed, and all the fun things.

  11. I recognized that cap before I ever clicked the link to go to the blog post! Baylor is a great school and yes, Magnolia :) Being in the Dallas area, we know several that attended Baylor and they all have positive things to say about the school. Best of luck to Ad.

    1. I’m so happy to hear that Rebecca! She just fell in love with that school when we visited and is so excited. I’m so happy for her! Going to miss her like crazy but I know she’ll be in a good place. :) Thank you!! xo

  12. Hey Erin! It has been a while since I have commented… this post brought me to tears! I’m so happy for your kiddos and I can’t wait to see/hear all about their future endeavors! Way to go mom and dad, too! You have truly raised amazing human beings. I loved Ad’s graduation/senior pictures. My daughter had hers taken at the beach (3 years ago) and by the time she got to her second outift change, and closer to the water, it was colder and her beautiful curls in her hair were gone : ) But, we had lots of great pics to choose from, and she had the time of her life that day! I hope you and your family have a wonderful summer!! xo

    1. So fun hearing from you Shari! Thank you so much! It has been an emotional few months! I know you know the feeling. :) Graduation pics are so special aren’t they!? Marking such a pivotal time in kids’ lives. Love that you did some by the beach too! The cool air is NOT good for hair.. we know that from experience.. ha. Ad’s hair did the same! I hope your daughter is thriving and happy! Hard and the best watching them grow into such amazing people. :) Wishing you a fun summer too and thanks again! xo

  13. Before you said it at the end, I was thinking, “these kids were so little when I first started reading this blog“!
    Looks like you have had a very, very busy, fun month full of lots of memory making moments. Enjoy your European vacation… We just got back from Italy this week :)
    Sending YOU lots of congrats on all the milestones!!

    1. Oh thank you so much Jenni! So sweet of you! I’m grateful you’ve stuck with me so long! And the best you got to spend some time in Italy! It’s so magical. We are in Europe now and having the best time! I don’t want this trip to end. :) Thank you so much for your sweet comment! xo

  14. I was excited to see your daughter is going to Baylor. We live in Houston and I have triplets that just graduated from high school. We know lots of amazing kids going to Baylor including one of my daughter’s best friends and my son’s girlfriend. She is going to love it!!!

    1. Liz your comment made me so happy! YEA! She is so excited.. just fell in love with that school! HUGE congrats on your triplets graduating! Oh my word.. that’s so exciting! Are they sticking together next year or all going in different directions? Major accomplishment to you mom! Sending all the hugs! (And tissues!) xo

  15. Erin, thanks so much for sharing – I never get tired of your family updates. Your “babies” are growing up so fast! Beautiful girls and Kole is so handsome🙂. Time passes by so quickly – too quickly for me! Enjoy your amazing trip – could’t be too many pics for me!!🚲

    1. Oh you are the sweetest Patty! Thank you! I know.. they definitely aren’t babies anymore! Time passes too quickly for me too! I’ll share lots of our trip pics soon! :)

  16. I have read your blog for years & loved it! I just saw this post about Ad going to Baylor..and we live in Waco!! She will love it..and if you need a Magnolia shopping partner, I’m your girl haha. Definitely you need to check out Spice village, Fabled bookstore, and Milk Bottle cookies too.

    1. Danielle! This made me SO happy to read! YEA! I’m so happy you live in Waco! Ad just got back from a week of line camp there and had the best time! Said it was a little hot.. ha. But she made so many good friends and can’t wait for college! Thank you so much for the recommendations.. definitely checking out those 3 spots. You can be my shopping partner when I visit any day.. would love that! :)
