I hope your week is off to a good start! Last week of August! Summer is definitely winding down and we are back in a routine at our house.. or trying to be in one anyway. :) We said good-bye to Ad last week which is always followed by a day of tears for me. I keep thinking saying good-bye to my college kids will get easier but it’s always so hard! You get them home for a while and remember how fun it is to have them around more.. and then they leave again (sigh). I will say that I do bounce back quicker and that’s a good thing. So for any of you going through this for the first time it does get easier! Never easy.. but easier. Sending a huge hug your way!

The best when we’re all together. I snapped this at Ad’s favorite restaurant we took her to before she left (Sbicca for anyone local!).
I woke up so motivated today.. I feel like the start of a new school year is more of a January for me than January actually is! I’m getting some things in order and will share more on that soon but kicking today off with my organized summer decor.

Remember this built in linen cabinet in my master bedroom? (This is the mirror I always use for my fashion selfies!)

It looked HORRIBLE for a lot of years. Just a random catch all for anything that didn’t have a home.
Then two years ago I whipped it into shape! But as beautiful as it was I never felt like I was really making the most of this precious storage space.

The best part of that makeover was finally getting my extra sheets all organized!

These sheet organizers are a dream and so easy to use!

Just add the sheets, velcro and zip.

I’m keeping the sheet organizers here and switching up everything else!

Left side is organized and I’m so happy to have a place to keep all of my summer hosting decor!

I want to start organizing more by season vs. by item because that’s how I really entertain and use the decor items I keep.

I have summer napkins, napkin rings and tablecloths at the top.

Then summer plates, platters and other hosing/decor items.

Including my cute bow banner. :) These candle holders are favorites for every season but I have so many of them (I use LOTS at for Christmas!) that I’m going to keep my gingham bow set just for summer.

Bottom section is for more plates and chargers.

I love that I can open this cupboard and so quickly see what I have for summer hosting vs. having things all over the house in different places. Will be a dream next summer! My goal is to keep the middle section for sheets and linens (items I was using this space for before) and then I want to use the right cupboards to hold Halloween/Fall/Valentines hosting decor (if I can fit it all!). I’ll get that organized after those holidays this year.
Love a good organizing project to kick off a new school year! It always inspires more.

A few pics from summer! We have been all about Padres baseball this summer (and every summer!). I picked up fun shirts for my crew and my brother’s family because my nephews love the Padres almost as much as Kenny does. :)

Two fun things to put on your itinerary next time you visit San Diego! Pizza at Hotel Del and then rent a fire pit on the beach for the night.

And breakfast at Harry’s Coffee Shop! Located in Del Mar (my personal favorite) and La Jolla.
I hope your last week of August is a good one! Bring on the routine and bring on fall! I’m ready. :) Sharing some fun round-ups below of cute things I’m seeing, loving and ordering on-line!
