Fall is right around the corner (yay!) and I’ve been thinking about how I want to decorate my porch this year. I thought I’d share some Fall/Halloween porch ideas from previous years if you are in the same boat and gathering ideas. I never underestimate the power of a welcoming front door! When I have something happy out it always brightens my mood. Even if it’s simple.. a cute rug and a few pumpkins! That’s all you need for an instant upper when you come home each day. (At the end of this post I linked lots of cute fall/Halloween porch decor I’m seeing on-line this year!)

Last year I was all about the ghosts! So cute and I love the coordinating BOO rug.

I layered it over this cute plaid and jute rug and had questions all fall about the rug sizes so sharing those below if you want a layered look like this!
– 4×6 (Price has gone up on this rug – here is a less expensive option!)
– 3×5 – largest size it comes in. (I also bought this rug in 22 x 34 to set in front of our side dutch mudroom door! So cute.)
– 24 x 35 – largest size it comes in.Â

These

I love these

My favorite thing about holiday porches this time of year are the lights at night. Something to look forward to when it starts getting dark earlier!

Â

Last year I wanted my ghosts brighter so I ordered these spotlights and stacked one on a tall vase to reach to the head of my tallest ghost!

Cans of food held my ghosts in place. We’re pretty technical around here.. ha.

But look how those ghosts lit up! You could see them coming up the road to my house. The spotlights could be used so many ways for holiday decorating so I wanted to share them again!

Dreaming in orange for this fall porch! It started like this in August/September with just pumpkins and wheat and trees..

{lighted maple trees/tree baskets/jute rug/similar jute rug (less expensive)/cream & brown stripe rug (similar)/caleb metal lanterns/bats/happy halloween garland}
Then in October I added my bats and Happy Halloween garland! Simple additions that took us from early fall to Halloween.

I still love these lighted maple trees and am going to add them somewhere again this year!

They light up so beautifully at night! I needed some pot filler in my baskets! Now I always add packaging paper and then top it off with this

Similar porch the next year! I just mixed up the layered rugs and added my black terracotta jack-o-lanterns and mums instead of wheat.

The terracotta jack-o-lanterns come in green and cream this year too! So many fun options.

Years ago I went all in with green! Kole lined the pumpkins up for me to dry in this straight line.. he’s definitely got some of me in him.

{faux weeping eucalyptus trees (similar)/metal black lanterns/hand woven jute rug} similar jute rug (less expensive)
So simple with green and white pumpkins and I still love this look for fall! A fun change.

{striped jute runner/hey there pumpkin mat/similar wheat bundle}
This was a really simple look too with some pops of purple!

{striped jute runner/hey there pumpkin mat/similar wheat bundle}
I still love this striped jute runner layered with a fall mat!

This was back in my real plant watering days and at this stage of life I’m over that.. ha. But they do look beautiful! High maintenance! But beautiful.

{caleb metal lanterns/similar black jack-o-lantern/similar stripe rug/hello door mat/similar free standing chalkboard}
If you remember this simple Halloween porch you’ve been with me a while! That black and white stripe rug brings back a lot of memories. :) Still so cute for Halloween!

Stacking pumpkins is always a fun idea.

So is a chalkboard with easy do-it-yourself Halloween art! You’ll be surprised at how easy it is and how skilled you feel when you’re done. Sometimes in life we have to be our own biggest cheerleader right? ;) I hope these pictures gave you a few ideas for your porch this year! You really don’t have to go over the top! Just a few simple additions can bring the fall vibes and add a little joy to your day.
