1 – NEW CUSHIONS

Happy Saturday! Sharing some randomness around here to wrap up February! I have to say that despite our sunny weather the past two months, January and February have felt like a bit of a slog. They just tend to be harder months right!? Also I’ve been going through some lovely hormonal changes this year (I’m sure many of you around the same age can relate!) and I just haven’t felt like myself. I have to say that I’m not mad at all about March rolling around. Bring on spring and better days ahead!

I’m feeling especially ready for spring after looking at fabric for new outdoor cushions this week! We’ve had our outdoor furniture for 13 years now (since we built our house!). The furniture is from Restoration Hardware and has held up great, but the cushions have seen better days. Lots of wear and tear and some cushions have holes from mice burrowing in them – YIKES. Time to replace them!

I looked at so many fabric options and narrowed it down to these two. Going lighter than what I chose last time! I looked at the samples in the yard during different times of the day to see how the lighting changed them.

I snapped this right before the sunset one evening. I went with the color CHALK on the left. It’s a pretty neutral that has some grey tones in it that I think will work well with the furniture and our yard.

It will take a couple of months to get the new cushions in so until then I’m dreaming about a new outdoor rug for my entertaining area and of course a cute new pillow or two. Below are some of my favorite outdoor rug options if you’re looking too!
2 – RECENT FINDS

It’s the same shape as my beloved coach bag and I have loved this size/style. It’s just big enough to fit everything I like to tote around! Below are a few other cute new things I saw that I’m debating for spring!

Also how cute is this utensil caddy!? Summer perfection.
3 – GLOW SERUM

4 – ORGANIZATION ATTEMPTS/CLOSET TIPS

I mentioned above not feeling like myself lately. I am having such a hard time finishing projects! Brain fog is at an all time high! I completely emptied my whole pantry and scrubbed every shelf. Then I put some of the food back and got busy with other things and still haven’t put it back together.. ha! Instead of finishing it Thursday when I had some time..

I did a deep dive into my closet because it was driving me crazy and started pulling it apart and doing a massive clean out. SIGH. I’m so sorry. I have nothing fun to share that’s actually finished. Just lots of messes and half way done projects. I’m making myself finish both this weekend! I have a lot of fun decorating going on too but it’s all just half way done. March is the month that I get my act back together. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. :)

And the AFTER. My dresses can breathe! And so can I.

Pausing on buying another green dress this spring. ;)

Donation pile. Feels so good to only keep the dresses I really love and wear!

Tips I’ve learned from closet organization. I feel like last year I did a good 80% job, but this year I’m being ruthless and REALLY cleaning things out. To be continued. When I get my act together. In March.
5/6 – LIFE IN FEBRUARY

So is my “I just hope both teams have fun” tee.

Super Bowl squares made the game so much more fun. Kenny and I won the jackpot at the end! I think we walked away with $20 after what we donated but you would have thought it was a million from our excitement.. ha. Definitely playing that more during games next fall.

Bikini Top / Textured Straw Hat
This favorite bikini top and hat are both on sale! I snapped this to send a friend who asked how I was doing. Sitting poolside eating my Skinny Pop while my friend was doing a water workout class. Ha. I told her I’d sit this one out and supervise.

Morning workout time.

Despite my hormonal ups and downs the past two months I’ve been proud of myself for sticking to my treadmill goal! It’s not a crazy workout. I’m not doing anything that fascinating. But I’ve been consistent with it and I feel stronger.

I’ve also been consistent with my turkey sandwich eating. Some things never change.

We enjoyed time with good friends.

And I’m always grateful for time alone with him. It was a perfect weekend!

The next weekend we were on the go again heading to Texas!

Sidenote: the San Diego airpot has been getting a major makeover and I’m loving it! Everything is so beautiful and clean! Kenny was waiting for me and meanwhile I’m out of the bathroom and just taking some time to admire the tile. :)

We got to spend the whole weekend with this one! On the agenda was a mother/daughter sorority get together. I loved meeting so many of her cute friends and their moms!

Then Kenny, Ad and I enjoyed some time on her campus and eating out at her favorite spots.

We hit my favorite Waco spot too of course. Magnolia was ready for spring!

Bring on the lemons.

We got to see her sing and perform again too. We packed a lot in one weekend!

I’ll never get used to saying good-bye to my kids and not bringing them back home with me! We snapped this right before a few tears were shed. But we’re all proud of ourselves for recovering quicker each time and her spring break is right around the corner! Always a silver lining.
There’s always March.
:)
