LOVE letters (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Friday! I’m popping in with a cute idea for Valentine’s Day! Or really for anytime you want to feel the LOVE and share it with others. :)

LOVE letters (Sunny Side Up)

{LOVE plates}

I landed on the cutest LOVE letters from Amazon! I think this exact set might have sold out (hopefully it comes back in stock!) but I found LOTS of similar options. (LINKED after these pics!)

Another excuse to buy Valentine’s Day candy? Don’t mind if I do. :)

LOVE letters (Sunny Side Up)

Isn’t this a fun display for a February get together!? I prefer candy (it’s all about the Sweetarts for me) but you could fill these LOVE letters with vegetables or popcorn and nuts or really anything you want!

These are pretty shallow but I found some that are deeper if you prefer that to fit more food.

In other news if you are organizing with me (challenge details here) we are tackling bedrooms this week! This isn’t my bedroom. :) I’m a little behind sharing progress and I’m still stuck in closet week and might just be stuck here forever.. ha. BUT my mudroom that was a hot mess is now clean. Progress! Love how my locker was actually the messiest. I totally let things go in December.

More “befores.” Not awful but in need of a good clean out. The drawers really needed to be vacuumed too. Usually my kids clean their own lockers but I just wanted to GET IT DONE one morning and knocked it out quick.

AFTER

I filled one sack full of shoes that don’t fit anymore and jackets we don’t wear anymore. It felt so good!

I vacuumed all of the shoe drawers (they get so sandy!).

{weave basket set}

Then I added this basket for my socks. I’ve been doing this for Kole for years and realized I could use a sock basket myself! I’m always frantically running out the door to pick someone up and then realizing I need socks and running back to my closet on the other end of the house. Now if I’m picking up kids or going to the gym I have socks ready to go! It’s the little things for me. :)

Addison is currently loving life with TWO lockers and drawers since El is gone.

Kole’s sock basket.. going strong since he was 6 years old! Do you keep kids’ socks and shoes by the door? In our previous house (before we had a mudroom and lockers) I kept shoes on shelves in our garage. (Talk about a post from the early days!)

Anything that will help us get out the door quicker is a win in my book!

{woven jute runner/similar baskets}

I’m still loving my jute runner in this space! It’s soft but durable and perfect for a high traffic spot. (Sorry the only current pic I have with my lockers closed is from the holidays!)

{black magnolia jute rug}

In other rug news this beloved runner just came back in stock! I really love this runner and it also comes in other sizes (my friend has it in her son’s bedroom). I had it in my kitchen all last year and it’s currently in my laundry room. (Mine is the 2’4 x 7.) It sold out so quickly so I’m thrilled they brought it back for those of you who have asked about it!

{KITCHEN SOURCES}

Enjoy your weekend! I’ll be back with some fun finds and sales soon! And hopefully a clean closet or two. Wish me luck!

It’s all about the candy reward after for me.

:)

  1. The letters to hold candies or what have you are pretty cute! I love some sweettarts too! I need to grab a bag this weekend, I think. Thanks. And congrats on the progress in your mudroom. I like the sock box idea for if you live in a large house like you do. Saves time for sure! Great that you implemented it for yourself. Gotta keep mom on track, too. Thanks for sharing the inspiration! Have a fantastic weekend. :)

  2. Erin.
    You know what I love about you? EVERYTHING! No, really, seriously, you don’t just advocate minimalism for the sake of minimalism. You have PLENTY of STUFF, like most of us with families. You have a WAY of pairing it down and finding the BEST ways to store everything. Even if we are not lucky enough to have the custom designed storage that you do, we can still learn from you. A slice of this or that…… No more confusion in the Container Store! You also show WHAT will be important for organization in a NEW build or RENO. Sock basket by the shoes. Brilliant! BTW, I used to use the garage “shoe shelf system” years ago when the kids were little. A pre-teen daughter went to Denver to visit family. She came back home habitually kicking shoes off in the kitchen (last house) When questioned she told of NO shoes in the garage in Denver. Brown Recluse spiders get into shoes :-O Not sure WHAT is worse. The Brown Recluse or snakes on my heavily wooded lot here in New England! :-O

    1. Sherrie you are the sweetest! What a kind thing to say. Thank you! It means so much to me that you feel that way and get tips here! You made my day as you have many times. :) And ok.. SPIDERS in the shoes! Oh my word – that’s terrifying. Time to come up with a new solution for sure.. ha! No way would I leave shoes in the garage if that was going on! Reminds me of the movie Arachnophobia. So creppy! Snakes too.. I’m not a fan of snakes either! We have snakes in our area too and Kenny has had to catch a few when they have come into our yard. He always releases them in the open space – my vote is always to do something else with them.. ha. ;) XO

  3. Love your jute runner in the kitchen, but I always find if my kitchen runner doesn’t have rubber backing it moves all over the place. Even with rug tape it moves, and is a pain for cleaning the floor underneath. Any ideas? Runners with rubber backing are so hard to find. Love your blog! Thanks.

    1. Hi Carol! Thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoy the blog. :) I feel the same.. jute rugs are hard because the rug tape doesn’t always stick as well. Have you tried these?

      I haven’t used them with a jute rug so I’m not sure if they are strong enough either, but they are the best rug grippers I’ve found for rugs in general. Maybe if you added lots of them down the sides of the rug? Also I will say the jute rug I linked doesn’t move much because it’s so thick and heavy! I’ve found that help too. :)

  4. I can see using those LOVE dishes for wedding anniversary parties, wedding receptions, and even the upcoming Superbowl. The deep ones would be perfect for chips and puting a dip or salsa in the middle of the O would be cool!
