1 – NEW FLOWERS

Happy Saturday! I can’t believe we are nearing the end of July. Summer is flying. It always does! I snapped some pics of these flowers in our front yard. We planted them new a few months ago and I want to document their progress!

The rose bushes in the middle are mostly done blooming for now and the lavender in the back will grow over time. I can’t wait to see this spot next summer when everything is taller and in full bloom!

Addison and I also picked up these matching sweatshirts for our morning walks (so cute!). We’ve had a lot of cool, cloudy weather on the coast this summer which is nice but also means that the heat is yet to come. I bet we are sweating in our Halloween costumes this October! Ad loves the matching zip fleece hoodie too. We tried the pants and didn’t love the fit.

Ending this already too long post with a few recent pics! We had so much fun with my brother in town. Lots of laughing and Padre games for my cute nephew’s 12th birthday. It felt like a birthday weekend for Kenny too because he was so happy to have people around who actually care about baseball.. ha.

I’ve been chilling with these two non stop and don’t want our time together to end! We love our Starbucks work sessions. I bring a Coke Zero in with me every time but the people who work at our local Starbucks know us well and don’t mind. We are keeping them in business with Addison’s pink drink obsession.

This is another fun restaurant we tried recently. It’s called The Marine Room in La Jolla and is so cool. Especially during high tide! You feel like you are sitting right on the ocean because you are. :)

I couldn’t really capture how beautiful it was to watch the sun go down while we were eating. The waves just slap against the windows!

This is a view from above when it was darker. Isn’t that the coolest!? Definitely something fun to book if you are local or visiting San Diego.

Fall Eucalyptus Plant (2 sizes)

Happy Friday! I hope you had a good week! I’m sharing a few things I ordered from the new Target fall drop.. it’s so good! I was going to include these items in my Saturday 6 post but there is too much to share in one post. Plus these items are selling fast! I ordered these rusty leaf stems and they already sold out on-line. In July! Clearly some of you are thinking about fall decor already too. Probably why we get along so well. ;)

Love these eucalyptus plants.. both sizes! The brown vases are so pretty too.

I also ordered the snack serving bowls and scalloped bowls. Both can hold toppings or small snacks – so cute for entertaining! I also like to use small bowls for organizing things inside drawers. The scallop set would be so cute in a bathroom holding jewelry. I love the small landscape print and fall arrangement for a shelf and these dishcloths have become my absolute favorites because they are so absorbent!

You know I love a good candle holder and Target always comes through! This is so beautiful for the holidays.. on tables or mantels. I added my favorite battery operated candles. I love candles in the summer too. Bring on all the cozy vibes. :)

Last but not least I’m sharing two different landscape prints that are crazy good for fall! This lake print is absolutely beautiful. I love the muted colors and green tones. I like that it’s simple because it will look good layered with another print.

This tree wall art is also beautiful and a perfect way to bring a little fall color inside! It’s STUNNING in person and I have a feeling it won’t last long. It will probably land on this console table in my family room or in my entry. It might be my favorite thing from the collection!

I really don’t want summer to end because it has been the best having all of my kids home again. We have about two weeks until Kole starts and then the next week after that we are moving the girls into new apartments. I know many of you are doing the same! I’m counting on a little sunshine and decorating to help pull me out of the slump I know is coming. Thank you Target fall drop!

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a good weekend! Kenny and the girls were gone all day Saturday (they flew to AZ to see the Morgan Wallen concert!). Kole and I aren’t huge country music fans so we stayed home. :) It was such a good day! I spent some time with Kole and then he hung out with friends and I spent the rest of the day cleaning. I know that doesn’t sound fun but the house has been such a mess this summer with everyone home that it felt amazing to get on top of things! I always feel such a mood boost when my environment is clean and organized. Some spaces are back in order, but I also had a few if you give a mouse a cookie moments with one cupboard leading to another. I realized that I have a lot of spaces that are cluttered and still need a re-fresh. Perfect timing for some summer organizing before it’s time to decorate for fall. Who is with me!?

Backpack

A few pics from our weekend! Major advantage of having a teenage son? Letting him tote around your heavy backpack and luggage while you carry his light as a feather belongings. :)

We flew to SLC to meet family and then headed to Deer Valley for a few days. Addison hadn’t seen my family in a year so it was a happy reunion with her grandparents and cousins!

This pic was from last year at the cabin we rented for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We loved it so much that we rented it again this year for the 4th!

It’s HUGE so we can easily fit 3 families and my parents and feel like we aren’t on top of each other.

But even better than that is the view!

From the back deck.. I could sit and stare at this all day long. Kenny and I are always happiest in the mountains! Kind of funny that we live by the beach because we would both take mountains over the beach any day. But I won’t complain about either. :)

The basement is a perfect spot for all the kids to hang. Boys last year..

and this year one year older. So happy together!

We did a quick grocery run and were laughing because I said we had to get Coke Zero, my dad wanted regular Coke and my mom needed her Diet Coke. Basically we’ll just take it all thank you very much! And thank you Kenny for lugging it all inside for us. Now it feels like home. :)

Usually we hit so many activities for the 4th but the kids are all growing up and the teens all wanted to sleep in and hang at the cabin! We had such a nice and relaxing long weekend.

We ate out, hiked mountains, talked for hours on the deck, watched movies, tried to make a homemade pizza and burned it miserably..

and watched lots of turkeys. And deer. Deer valley is full of deer. :)

Ellie couldn’t make it this year (pic of her with my dad last year) and we missed her so much! I’m already looking forward to when we’re all together again over the holidays.

Nothing like fireworks and family time. :)
