Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice this weekend.. so much gratitude! I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend with loved ones. Kenny and my girls have been in New York the past few days (they do an annual dad/daughter trip!) and they just got back so I’m looking forward to having the whole crew home together tomorrow. They saw a few Broadway shows including Stranger Things. I LOVE that series! I was home with Kole doing all the end of year May activities so hoping I can see it someday too! My round-ups this week included a lot of Memorial Day sales (so good this year!) and fun recent orders. Enjoy and have a great start to your week!
Happy Saturday and happy Peony season! I always get excited when they start popping up at Trader Joes. A sure sign of summer! Have you been surviving Maycember? It’s always such a crazy month. I’m behind on posting so grab some popcorn! I’m sharing ALL the things today. :)
I can’t see peonies and not bring some home! They always look so pretty in this long time favorite vase and it’s on sale right now!
It’s watertight so I don’t need to do this but I a lot of times I set a tall glass in my vases to fill with water. Works great for vases that can’t get wet and is just easy to keep things clean and change the water quickly.
This sunscreen! Where has it been all of my life!? It’s a little pricey but SO lightweight and it disappears as soon as you put it on your skin! Feels amazing. I’ll report back after I’ve used it for a full day in the sun. A friend who is an esthetician recommended it to me and I’m loving it so far.
A few recent fashion favorites.. LOVE this cute cotton dress! I fell hard as soon as I saw it on-line and really hoped it would be a cute fit. It is! So comfortable and a perfect summer/ vacation dress. Isn’t the necklace fun too!? That’s the Target seashell necklace I shared in a past post. It’s adjustable so you can make it as short/long as you like. I linked my favorite strapless bra too!
I have it on with a pair of wedges I’ve had for years (linked a similar pair above) but it also looks really cute with a thin sandal or flip-flops.
This is another dress I’m in love with! Definitely a splurge dress. I have a few summer events in mind that it will be perfect for. It’s so flattering with a higher waist and the collar, puff sleeves and black tie are perfection! It’s on the short side (I’m 5’3 1/2) and it runs a little small. I’m usually a 2 in dresses and the 2 worked but I felt more comfortable in a 4 so if you’re in-between sizes I would go up one. You definitely need a slip with this one and I linked my all time favorite half slip that I wear all the time. It’s so lightweight and thin I can’t even tell I have it on!
A few new swim finds! This cover-up is so cute and I could NOT resist this blue swim tank. It’s such a gorgeous fit and color! I ordered these bottoms to go with it (I have them in green and black and love the way they fit too). I can’t get enough of Robin Piccone swimwear. Hand down my favorite brand for suits! (They fit true to size.. I always wear xs on top and a small on bottom.)
Stylish heels for an upcoming event! They are surprisingly comfortable for a high heel and I love the neutral color that will work with any and all dresses.
This gorgeous woven vase is also on sale this weekend! I ordered during the last Mcgee sale. It’s so beautiful! I’ve been using it with my Eucalyptus stems. It comes with a clear glass vase that sits inside of it if you wanted to use it with real flowers/stems too.
SO GOOD right!? Almost identical. I have 2 of the Amazon floral pillows in my living room on two chairs and keep the Mcgee version on this brown chair in my family room.
I know it’s heating up for most of you but we always get cool, cloudy weather in May and June. I found a couple of cute sweatshirts that have been keeping me warm on cool days! I couldn’t resist the lemon one of course. It comes with cute matching sweatpants too.
Our in-ground trampoline had seen better days so we went to replace it and realized there was a bigger issue going on (always a fun discovery right!?).
Tree roots were causing issues and we had to replace the entire framing lumbar.
It has looked like this all week with caution tape around it.. ha.
But now we are up and running with a brand new trampoline ready for summer! We did a little research and liked this trampoline best. It comes with a net if you need one! This in ground trampoline was hands down the smartest thing we put in our yard when our kids were young. They used it more than they used the pool! Now the teens still jump once in a while and we always have friends’ kids on it throughout the year. This wasn’t a project we were expecting or excited to pay for but happy that it’s done. :)
We also planted some new flowers in our front yard. I can’t wait to see them take off!
I added more roses in a few spots around the house too but they aren’t blooming yet. The iceberg roses lining our driveway have been here since we built our house and I love coming home to them.
Wishing you sunshine and flowers this weekend! May is a beautiful month!
Happy Sunday! I have a GOOD Sunday Edit for you today! Sharing a fun round-up of your favorites from the week, a CUTE dress I ordered (I’ll share it on soon!), summer hosting finds and pool lounger options. I also rounded up some fun summer decor and pool and swim favorites! Enjoy and have a beautiful rest of your weekend! :)
Happy Saturday! I hope you had a good week and are surviving May! My girls finished their finals this week and we got Addison moved out of her dorm and back home with us again. (And by “we” I mean Kenny.. he did all the heavy lifting!) Ellie will join us in a couple of weeks after some fun things she has going on with friends. Summer can officially begin! If you need Ad and I you know where to find us. :)
She took her pocket hug to every exam for good luck this year and always sent me a pic on her way! I saved every picture and want to put her little pocket hug in a frame next to her diploma someday. I can’t believe her Freshman year is over!
For today’s Saturday 6 I’m sharing my absolute favorites of all the favorites! I wanted my tried and true “must haves” to all be in one place on my blog, but honestly it was so hard to narrow them down! Keeping it to just 6 was out of the question so here are my 16 favorite items I swear by and love the most! Many of you have seen these items before and some of you could probably write this post for me. ;)
1 – Skin Towels My clean skin towels! So soft on your skin! Sometimes I use them to take off my make-up. Most of the time I use them to dry my face after I wash it and then I use it to wipe off my bathroom counter. LOVE them.
2 – Moisturizer with SPF This is what I use on my face for my daily sunscreen! I’ve used it for years and put it on under my make-up every day. It so light and barely tinted. Just enough to smooth out my skin! I love using it when I exercise too and don’t want to wear make-up. It looks great and feels great on my skin and I don’t go a day without it.
3 – Tinted Eye Cream and Complete Eye CreamI’m 48 years old and my eyes are definitely where I am seeing the most signs of age! These two products save me every day. I use the complete eye cream at night before I go to bed and then I put on the illuminating tinted eye cream in the morning. These two products help so much with fine lines and dark circles! I have used them for years and have no plans to live without them. I linked all of my favorite CR products but if I had to pick just two these would be it!
4 – T3 Hair Tools My beloved hair tools! I have loved all things T3 forever. I especially love their blow dryer and the 1 inch curling iron. I have all sizes but use my 1 inch curling iron the most!
5 – GHD Flat IronT3 makes a great flat iron too, but I bought the GHD flat iron to try a couple of years ago during the Nordstrom sale and have never looked back! If you have thick hair the 2 inch is SO GOOD. So many of my friends bought it after I recommended it and love it too!
6 – Hair Finishing Stick This little beauty goes with me everywhere. I have one in my purse, one in my car, one in my bathroom. It tames fly aways and I always have fly aways! I notice them most in my rear view car mirror which is why I keep one in my car.. ha.
7 – Sheets/Extra Deep SheetsMy long time favorite sheets! We have these on every bed in our house. I’ve tried a few others here and there but always go back to these. They are so silky soft and for the price I can easily replace them every year or two.
8 – Cover-up/Flip FlopsTwo long time must haves here! I can’t imagine a summer without my favorite flip flops and this cover-up! I have used them both for more yeas than I can count. The cover-up just comes in one size and ties on the side and is perfect to toss on at the beach or pool. It’s a soft material and hangs so flattering. It also washes so well.. I’ve had mine for over 7 years and it still looks brand new!
9 – Loving Tan My favorite tanning lotion! I have tried so many and can’t find anything I love as much as this. I always use the tanning mitt and it goes on so even and smooth and dries quickly. It lasts for about a week. Tried and true favorite!
10 – Colette Pants/Raffia Sandals Favorite clothes! My Colette pants would definitely be at the top of the list. I have them in 4 different colors (I wear green the most of course!) and couldn’t love them more. So comfortable and they are easy to dress up or down. I also swear by these raffia sandals and was so happy they brought them back again this year! I now have 2 pairs of them. Aside from looking so cute with everything they are also incredibly comfortable.
11 – Anessa Jeans I’m a broken record with these jeans but I can’t have a favorites post without them! I actually have to remind myself to not put them on every day because it’s becoming a problem and the other pants in my closet are feeling neglected. Ha.. they are SO GOOD! :)
12 – Butterfly Necklace Butterflies are special to our family because my grandma loved them so much. I was incredibly close to my grandma growing up and she passed away when I was in high school. Ellie is named after her. :) Whenever my mom sees a butterfly she tells us it’s her mom watching over us. I bought this necklace about a year ago thinking of my grandma and haven’t taken it off much since. Aside from the sentimental meaning to me, this little gold butterfly is a perfect dainty accent that looks good with any and all tops.
13 – Faux Black Olive TreeSuch a good faux tree! I have bought MANY faux trees through the years but if I had to choose a favorite this would be it. A couple of my friends have bought it after seeing it in my house.. it’s just so good and incredibly realistic in person. (It comes in a 7 and 9 inch and this is the 7 inch which I like best! You can easily make it taller by adding a large pot and stacking books or something under it.)
14 – Oven Liner This is my newest favorite on the list! But WOW.. talk about a cleaning game changer! I can’t believe I scrubbed my oven underneath the racks for years not knowing about these oven liners. I will never go without them again!
15 – Makeup Bag Sorry.. I know you’ve seen this makeup bag a hundred times! But it truly is such a favorite for travel. At this point Ellie has it in black, Ad has it in pink, I have it in white and woven khaki and I’ve given it countless times for gifts. At our high school friend reunion trip last year we had a little favorite things party and this is what I brought so we can all have the same make up bag when we travel. It’s just too good to not share!
16 – Vuori Joggers/XL Travel Backpack I’ll wrap up this post with my beloved travel backpack! I don’t leave on a trip without it. It’s expandable, durable, looks cute and makes my life so much easier in an airport. I’m a major over packer and it helps me fit anything I couldn’t squeeze into my suitcase! Vuori joggers are also a long time favorite that I have in more colors than I want to admit. Most days you can bet that I’m wearing my Anessa jeans or my Vuori joggers.
So that’s it! My favorites of ALL the favorites. Did you guess any of them? Was there anything new you don’t remember or have you seen all of these before? Have you bought any of these items after seeing them here? Was there something you thought would make the list that didn’t? If you knew most of these items thank you for being a committed reader! Ha. If you have time, share one of your favorites with me! I would love to try it. :) Grateful to have you all in my life to discuss fun things like favorites and fashion and decorating and organizing and life with kids and life without kids and all of the life in-between.
Happy Mother’s Day! Wishing you all a beautiful Sunday! I’m feeling extra grateful for this crew and for my mom and for a day to celebrate all of the amazing moms in our lives. All I want for Mother’s Day is time with my kids so bring on summer! :) Sunday Edit is a short one this week but how cute are the spring sandals I rounded up!? I have several pairs already and a couple more in my on-line cart. Thinking Mother’s Day is the perfect time to get them out of my cart and heading my way. ;) I’m also sharing some fun summer clothes (feeling blue at the moment!), your favorites from last week and recent orders (I picked up a few more bow makeup bags for gifts!). Moms – I hope you feel how loved and appreciated you are today!
Happy Saturday! YEA for the weekend. How is everyone surviving May!? It feels like we hit this time of year and life just gets busy doesn’t it!? Whether it’s school activities picking up before the year winds down, special occasions, or planning for summer travel/activities May madness is real. Coke Zero and a good podcast is how I cope when life gets busy. It’s also how I cope when things aren’t busy if I’m being honest. I spent a lot of time in my car this week and snapped this pic to send a friend. I’m just realizing and kind of laughing that the podcast I was listening to is called Body Reset (all about diet and exercise) while I drink my Coke and munch on chicken nuggets. Ha. It’s the thought that counts right!? :)
If you look closely behind the outdoor pics above you’ll see the disaster sitting on my dining nook table. It’s always a dumping ground when I’m decorating and moving things around! Just keeping it real. :)
I couldn’t resist getting this inflatable lounge float to chill with our swan in the pool this summer. So cute! It has a cup holder for a drink and bonus..
A few months ago I cleaned out my oven and decided I was done with the constant mess below the racks. I looked around for something to help keep it clean and landed on these oven liners! I wish I would have discovered them years ago.
Just slide them on the bottom of your oven and they catch all the spills! They are so easy to clean. Food easily wipes off and they are inexpensive so if a liner ever gets too dirty you can just replace them. Thought I’d share in case this is a new discovery for anyone else!
I ordered this cute bag for summer.. shells and all things beachy like this have been trending for a while and this purse is just FUN. Below are a few other similar options I’m loving!
Sharing some favorite art (new and old) around my house! This print has a glass frame over it so I had to turn it sideways to photograph. It’s so beautiful!
I love this landscape print because it looks like spring, summer and fall. Every time the season changes I go to take it down and decide it still works. :)
This is another pretty landscape in my powder bathroom. About a month ago we had an earthquake here in San Diego and this print hit the floor and made the loudest crash! I was in the kitchen working on my computer and felt the whole house shake. It was surreal! I was just about to run to get under a door frame and then it stopped. I checked around the house and this art was the only thing that fell. I probably should move it or attach it to the wall! I’m just happy it didn’t break. My landscapes are in tact! All is well. :)
Last but not least is this beautiful wildflower print in my bedroom. It’s similar to the print over my fireplace and works so well through all the seasons.
6 – YARD
Ending with a few pics from the yard! Our pretty purple and pink flowers are taking over and making me so happy.
I never wrote a post about our outdoor fountain. I have pics of it from start to finish if anyone is interested? Let me know! I love the sound of running water.
Who is ready for summer hosting!? Or summer dining? Or just summer in general? All of the above for me! My girls are in the middle of finals then moving home for the summer in one week! Kole is out of school at the end of May. So ready to get everyone out of school and under one roof again. :)
As soon as these cute items landed on my doorstep I set up an outdoor tablescape to try them out! LOVE the braided jute runner. I will use this time and time again through all the seasons. It’s nice and long and was such a good price.
And these chargers! Are you kidding!? Braided jute with a crochet trim. SO cute. I got the blue to match these plates but they also come in ivory. You can flip them on the other side to see more of the crochet trim for a different look. The blue and green plaid plates are so fun with these coordinating napkins.
For a centerpiece I used this long time favorite vase with a pretty blue flower bundle I bought last summer. It looks like the larger size is back in stock this year! It’s so gorgeous. I’m adding the large bundle to my wish list because I have used this small bundle so much. You just set it in a vase and done! I also ordered these cute blue appetizer plates. They have a green trim and the cutest curvy edge!
Happy Sunday! LOVE today’s round-up! I found so many cute Mother’s Day gift ideas! Which is really just a round up of things I would love.. ha. I also shared some cute things for summer! We are having such a cloudy, cold weekend so it’s not very summer like here at the moment. I’m making taco soup which is giving fall vibes! Hoping we get our sun back this week. :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Happy Saturday and happy May! I hope you had a good week! It’s so nice having more light in the evenings isn’t it!? Kenny and I love having time for a walk on the trail before dinner. It has been so beautiful and sunny lately! I’m dreading our “May Gray” and “June Gloom.” Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as it has been some years. Sunshine puts me in such a good mood! It just doesn’t feel right to kick off summer without it. Lots of recent favorites to share this week so on to our 6 on Saturday!
Speaking of sunshine and summer! Anyone up for a picnic? :) I couldn’t resist ordering this cute picnic basket and blanket! There is nothing like throwing down a blanket and eating outside in the summer right? Whether it’s at the beach, in the mountains, at a park or in your own back yard. Always a good thing! This blanket is thick and such a nice size. Perfect to keep in the back of the car so you always have it ready for an impromptu stop.
This whole collection of matching plates and napkins is TOO CUTE. I also couldn’t resist this cute woven caddy even though I already have several. I use them so much this time of year for entertaining and eating outside!
How cute are these simple MOM charcuterie letters and heart!? I love candy and wake up to my favorites every year for Mother’s Day so I told Kenny and Kole I just made things really simple for them! You could obviously fill them with something more healthy too. ;) These letters would be fun for a gift or to set out at a Mother’s Day brunch or dinner!
This MOM box is another fun idea. You can fill the letters with flowers or candy or beauty products or any small gifts! So many fun options. I think this is so cute for a birthday gift for a mom too.
I came home to a fun day of mail last week when my new beach bags arrived! So excited about these! Cutest little clear bags to hold sunscreen, chapstick, etc. The mesh tote bag was a favorite last year and my girls kept stealing mine so I now have 3 so we can each have one! It’s a perfect bag to throw your sunscreen and towel in for a quick trip. The checkered bag is so cute and has so many pockets! I have a feeling it will be my go-to this summer and the BOGG bag I’m excited to try! It seems perfect for a day at the beach with the whole family. It comes in so many colors and people rave about them. I’ll let you know what I think at the end of the summer! I’m most excited about just being able to spray it off so the sand doesn’t come with us into the house. That’s the only downside of living close to the beach.. sand shows up EVERYWHERE.
I ordered some fun accessories (a phone holder and Stanley cup holder) to try with it! Will be nice to have a place for these items to sit up and off of the sand.
This is the mesh bag I ordered again. So cute right!? I shared these cute cover-ups last year thought I’d share them again since they are all still in stock!
Thought I would share how my jewelry has been organized for a while now! I’ve been using these accessory trays in my vanity drawers and it’s working so well!
I have one on the right and one on the left. I used to have all of my jewelry out on my vanity counter but it always added to our every day bathroom clutter and just made things feel more messy to me so I’m loving it all organized inside these drawers.
I also just ordered this cute hair clip. Check it out on-line to see how cute in looks when it’s holding your hair back! The trick will be keeping it hidden from my girls. I’ll most likely end up getting them each one too so I can keep this one for myself. Ha.
Ending today’s Saturday 6 with a code for you for Mother’s Day! You can get 20% off any products at Colleen Rothschild using the code ERIN20 at checkout! I’ve shared my favorites so many times and they are all linked HERE. In the last post when I shared them I mentioned the Illuminating Eye Cream. Let me know if you tried it and love it too! It’s so good for dark circles and tired eyes! The hair mask makes a perfect gift and I also love the complete eye cream. I put it on every night and I use the Sheer Renewal Cream in the am before makeup.
Happy May! I can’t believe we are here. Does anyone else feel like they JUST got Christmas put away? Maybe just me since it took me until mid February to finish. Ha. Time for all things SUMMER. I’m sharing your April favorites today! These are the items you bought/loved the most last month. These faux tulips are definitely a favorite around here so no surprise on this one. :)
These white flowers have been a favorite every month since I started sharing them! We clearly all love a good faux flower outside that is realistic looking and zero maintenance.
Nothing like a good hair brush for blow drying. I’ve used and loved this brush for years and don’t know why I didn’t think to share it before this month. I’m happy so many of you are enjoying it too!
I have had this outdoor set for years and I’m so happy it’s back in stock and you’re loving it! This is an older picture.. I’m currently looking for a new rug for this space. I would definitely recommend this set if you need new outdoor furniture. It looks like Serena & Lily without the S & L price tag and has held up great!
A view from the back. And a view of the swan because clearly I’m obsessed with it.
My Anessa high waist jeans hit the best seller list again! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever worn a pair of jeans so much in my life. I really need to mix it up more often but they just work with EVERYTHING.
This cute white top and my raffia sandals also made the favorites list for April! I bought these sandals last year and they came out with them again in different colors/shades. So cute for summer! I’m debating ordering a second pair because just like my jeans they are on repeat this time of year.
You loved the New Balance sneakers too! I’m so happy they are back in stock at Nordstrom with lots of different color options to choose from. I have 3 slightly different pairs of this same shoe I love them so much.
And last but not least was my bikini top! A popular item in March and still hitting your favorites list for April too. I’d say it’s time to bust it out again. Who wants to meet me at the beach!?
I’m happy so many of you are trying my brush! It’s my favorite for blow drying. If you ordered it let me know if you love it too! I’m also sharing some favorites that were on sale last week, beach essentials (summer is right around the corner!), and spring/summer decor for inside and outside. Enjoy and have the best weekend! :)
Happy Saturday! Kicking off today’s Saturday 6 with a blast from the past! Who remembers this? *If you do.. thank you for hanging with me so long. ;) When we built our home I designed this closet in the playroom to hold ALL the kids’ toys. It worked so well for us for years! As our kids grew older it became a catch all closet for lots of random things until I finally decided at the beginning of this year to make better use of this precious space.
This is what it’s looking like today! A happy place for all of my extra home decor. I shared these baskets at the beginning of the year and have loved them. I still need to get labels for them but they are perfect to hold smaller seasonal items. The 3 large woven baskets on my bottom shelf hold extra throws. (I’m using the large braided crate baskets and the 12 inch woven baskets.) I used to have most of this in our coat closet and other places around the house, but I did a major clean out at the beginning of the year and donated everything I wasn’t using and then consolidated everything else upstairs. It’s working so well to have all of my extra home decor in one place! (Seasonal decor like Christmas lives in my attic.)
This closet is always changing as I decorate and move things around (it looked different last week!) but so nice to have a central spot to keep everything. I miss the days that this space held toys – it was a happy spot for my kids! But now it’s a happy spot for me and I’m choosing to focus on that. :)
CUTEST spring wreaths! I’ve had these on my mudroom lockers for a couple of months. I was going to share them earlier but they sold out right after they came in. They were just re-stocked!
So I’m having a love affair with Target purses. I do not need one more but just CAN’T STOP buying them. This is so cute for summer! I shared so many cute Target purses and beach bags in this post if you are looking for something fun for spring/summer!
These bags actually come in a set of 3 sizes now which would have been perfect for this little makeover!
It took no time to fold my suits and cover-ups..
and place them each in these little bags.
AFTER
It has been over a year since I did this and I have absolutely loved it! This drawer is always clean and it’s so easy to find what I need! Plus when we’re traveling or heading to the beach I can just toss these bags in my beach/travel bag and I’m set. Some makeovers just keep bringing joy and this is one of them for me!
6 – YARD
Signing off with a few pics from the yard! This climbing rose bush is taking off.. another favorite I planted years ago.
Swany (my kids lovingly named him – we’re pretty creative around here) and I are wishing you a beautiful weekend!
xoxo, Erin
