I filled all of my pots with packaging paper (I’ve been saving it from Amazon orders for months!) and then I added Spanish moss at the very top.
Spring Wedding Shower
Sharing pics of the wedding shower I hosted last Saturday! I spent a lot of time in the yard the week before getting my patio furniture and yard clean. It was such a dirty mess from winter and it feels amazing to have it all clean now. I added flowers to a couple of pots and planted a few new things in the yard. Happy we can be outside more and enjoy it now!
We went with a garden vibe for the shower and used whites, greens and yellow for the flowers. Two of my cute friends made all of the flower arrangements using my favorite acrylic vases and I love how they turned out!
Everything is blooming! I love white flowers. Hard to tell I know. Ha.

Some of the party planning crew!
We lucked out with beautiful weather the day of the shower. Kole and I were up early Saturday morning getting pillows on the lounge chairs and starting to set the tables! We rented these gorgeous wood tables (same set we used at the last shower we hosted) and they were perfect. I love that the tables are so pretty we can get away with just a simple runner vs. a tablecloth.
I used beautiful glass candle holders and had some LED floating candles that worked so well in the house but when I set them in the water in the candle holders outside you couldn’t even tell they were lit! Luckily we had some actual floating candles on hand to use instead. The LED sets I bought will be perfect for inside or evening dining!
We had Mexican food (the bride’s favorite!) and they set up a black tent on the lawn where they cooked everything. It was so delicious! We’re still eating some of the leftovers. :)
I ordered this swan for our pool and knew I would be cutting it close because it was supposed to be delivered the day of the shower. It came 20 minutes before the party started! Kenny had been up all morning helping me in the yard and moving tables and things around. When the swan came I said ok.. LAST thing I need your help with.. we HAVE to have the swan in the pool. Ha! I don’t think he really agreed the swan was a must have but he pulled out our electric air pump and brought out the swan right before guests arrived. Shaking his head the whole time! But he did it.
Now that’s love. ;)
Inflatable Swan, Floating Lotus Light
Hello my friend. Welcome to your new home.
Now we can party! A must have indeed. :)
We also set out baby pictures of the couple and some cute question cards for the guests to fill out on each table.
We had mocktails and LOTS of diet coke.
Along with cake and churros for dessert.
I didn’t get a good pic of the long table on my back porch. We had more drinks and toppings for the food there. I took these pics so fast because I was still setting things up!
Not everyone but we snapped this when about half of the guests had arrived!
Inflatable Swan, Floating Lotus Light
Some pics I snapped quick while everyone was eating!
Inflatable Swan, Floating Lotus Light
It was a warm day and the only thing I wish I would have thought of was moving more of our umbrellas around the tables for shade white everyone ate. Next time!
My shower party planning partner in crime.
After we all ate everyone gathered around the TV to watch a fun movie of the groom answering questions about the bride. Then she spoke about him.. it was so cute and made me tear up! I love love and new beginnings. :) So happy for them!
Chocolates inside these cute gift boxes for the party favors! They turned out so cute and we had some left over so I’ve eaten A LOT of chocolate this week.
*Sidenote.. are the uneven baskets at the bottom of my console table in this picture making anyone else feel a twitch coming on? Or is it just me? :)
Me and the bride to be with her sister and mom (a long time bestie)! Couldn’t love these girls more. I found the cute wedding shower sign here and I set it with a picture of the couple on black easels near the front porch. We used a lot of sage green and white for the shower because those are the colors she is using for her wedding. My porch matched too! I’ll share more porch details soon.
It was a beautiful day!
We placed these disposable trash cans all around the yard and they made clean up so easy! Kole helped me pull all the outdoor pillows back inside and when the last guest left and the last dish was cleared and everything was put away I picked up some chocolate, hit my couch and didn’t move for an hour! Ha. Happy exhaustion! That’s always what I feel after hosting a party.
But now after a few days of recovery.. my swan and I are ready for round 2.
Sunday Edit
Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a beautiful weekend! I’m happy to say that the wedding shower was a success! So much fun and everything came together. It usually does! Even though whenever I host a party I’m always scrambling at the last minute thinking it won’t. If you ever want to get your house and yard in order quickly, throw a party! There are little things that had been on my to-do list to do around the house for months that I kept putting off, but with a serious deadline I magically found the time to prioritize it all. Sometimes at 2 am (ha) but it happened. Funny how that works right? We went straight from our Texas trip to hosting company to throwing the shower so my plans for today? Absolutely nothing. :) I’m so looking forward to a relaxing day with my boys. I hope you are able to relax too! Enjoy last week’s round-ups! SO many fun things! I’ll be back soon with lots to share. :)
Saturday 6
Happy Saturday! I’m mixing it up for this week’s Saturday 6! We have had family staying with us this past week and today I’m hosting a wedding shower so things have been a little upside down at my house. I’ll share shower pics and some other fun things going on around here as soon as I can catch my breath! Today I’m popping in with a few favorites and most are tried and true!
I bought this serving platter a few months ago and can’t wait to pull it out this summer! Platters like this are my favorite to use for fresh fruit. It’s a nice large size and white works with everything. Plus it’s dishwasher safe! Score.
Saturday 6 and Sunday Edit
I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I had the best intentions of getting my Saturday 6 post up yesterday and it just didn’t happen! As soon as we came back from Texas my sister and her kids arrived for the week and I didn’t have time to sit and write my post Friday night until after 1:00 am. Back in my early blogging days I could have stayed up another hour knocking it out but I’m too old for that now.. ha. I couldn’t keep my eyes open! So this week I’m combining Saturday 6 with the Sunday Edit and apologizing in advance that this is a longer post. Time to pop the popcorn. :)
1 – WEDDING
We went to the most gorgeous wedding last week! Me with the mother of the bride! We love this family so much and I was so emotional seeing her beautiful daughter so happy. Wearing the cute dress I shared earlier.. I love it for all spring/summer events!
Dress, Dress (from Anthro), Similar Heels
Such a fun night!
2 – EASTER TREE
Cutest little Easter tree! This picture isn’t great because you can’t see how pretty it is with the lights turned on. I ordered this tree and egg ornaments to hang on it and put it in our guest room as a little night light for my sister while she’s here. It’s beautiful lit up at night!
3 – TRAVEL FAVS
Repeat of a few travel favorites I’ve shared before! I snapped this quick unpacking from Texas. My new (old) backpack is so clean! The

to wash my face with. I have lots of these little clear bags leftover from
The only new addition here is this cute little
I like that I can put necklaces in their own individual pouches because they don’t tangle! Plus the organizer in me just loves the little zipper compartments. :)
4 – ORGANIZED GIFT WRAP
Ok.. confession time. My gift wrap has been a hot mess since the holidays! I never got it under control after Christmas and it has been spilling all over my office. Piles everywhere.
I went through all of my other wrap supplies and donated a lot. So nice to have things under control again!
Isn’t that a pretty sight!? I couldn’t even close this cupboard door before! I love these
to contain wrapping paper rolls.
Feels pretty good to accomplish something that has been on my to-do list since the end of December! Better late than never. :)
5 – SUMMER THROWS
Below are the round-ups for last week! So many fun things for spring and your favorites! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)
6 – SUNDAY EDIT
Quick trip to Texas/Magnolia
Hello from Texas! Kole and El had the same spring break this week and Ellie hasn’t been to Texas to see her sister this year so we decided that since the whole family couldn’t go on a trip together the 4 of us would just travel to Texas for a few days! So fun being with my crew all together again (I know all moms of older kids get it!). We spent one afternoon at Magnolia and timed it just right with weather. Everything was so beautiful! Sharing some pics I took below! Major spring vibes and if you are still mucking your way through winter let these pics get you by until you start seeing spring in your neck of the woods!
Before we head outside though we need to do some shopping together. Hello gorgeous home decor! This store is TOO much fun.
Ad is the only one who will shop with me and she only lasted about 15 minutes. Ha. I could look at home decor for hours! But I was strong and left after 30 min. Only because I know I’ll be back! :)
Stores like this are my happy place.
I wanted to take it all home! When you visit Magnolia if you spend over $100 they will ship things for free. Most of it you can get on their website too! Their new spring collection is so good this year!
These are some of the items I was most excited about! You’ll see a few of these around my house soon. :)
The last time we were here it was raining so it felt like such a treat to get a gorgeous sunny day!
Everything in the gardens was in full bloom.. gorgeous!
Pop’s lemonade is always a staple when we visit!
The boys and El had fun chilling on the grass and playing games while Ad and I were shopping. A beautiful day at Magnolia!
The next morning we ate at Magnolia Table. We haven’t been there before! We went around 10 am so it was their brunch menu and it was AMAZING. There are about 10 things on the menu I want to try so we will definitely go again next time we visit! Excited to try the dinner menu too. If you are planning a trip make sure to book the restaurant early! Spots fill up quickly. I got our reservation about a week in advance.
That afternoon we went on a tour of Baylor with our favorite Baylor tour guide. :) So funny because when Kenny and I were visiting colleges with the kids we always said to each other that we could totally see Addison giving tours one day. It’s so her! She loves people, she loves getting involved in school activities and public speaking comes so easily to her. Feels full circle to see her working as one now! We didn’t tell the other people on the tour we were her family because we didn’t want to throw her off her game.. ha. I tried to not stand too close to her because I’ve been told we kinda look alike. ;) Ellie got to see her dorm later that day and we took some of her cute friends to dinner. So fun being in her world for a few days! Proud of my college girls and all the new fun things they are doing.
Good-bye Waco! Until next time.
:)
Sunday Edit – Last Day for Spring Sale!
Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a good weekend! We spent most of Saturday cleaning our garage. Not exactly a fun way to spend the day but it was long overdue and feels so good to have done! I still need to go through some cupboards but we got everything off the floor and Kenny mopped so we’re calling it a success. Then we went to a wedding and it was so beautiful! A fun and productive day. :)
The Amazon spring sale is still going through today! Sharing favorites on sale below along with your favorites from the week. Enjoy your day!
Saturday 6
1 – PALM SPRINGS
Not a bad place to spend the weekend!
We took Kole and some friends for an early birthday celebration. Kole turns 15 this Sunday! I can’t believe I’m saying that. I know some of you have been with me since he was born! Love this kid too much. Rap music was blasting the whole two hour drive there and the car was full of noise and laughing and energy. On the way home 3 of the 4 boys were asleep. The sign of a successful trip! Ha.
Boys had fun swimming and playing ping pong/pool and going to the gym at the resort. I planted myself and enjoyed this view. It felt so good to sit and do nothing for a while. How often do we do that? Definitely not enough.
2 – FRUIT BOWLS
When your morning snack matches your art. :)

3 – CUTE KEYS
4 – EASTER BOOK/BASKET IDEAS
5 – AROUND THE HOUSE

I needed a little something to set on these books.. perfection!
I’ve had this little topiary for years now and it always adds such a cute touch of spring when I pull it out!

All just little changes that are making things feel like spring around here!
6 – LUNCH IDEAS
Ok.. sorry if the title of this one threw you off and you thought I was actually going to share good lunch ideas. Clearly my friends and I are in NO position to help on that.. ha! This recent text thread just made me laugh! When I answered that I ate popcorn and bacon for lunch (microwave bacon btw.. I’m not over here frying anything up) I didn’t expect my friends to be doing the same! Made me feel a little less guilty.
So enjoy a cookie, toast or some jelly beans on us this weekend! #momlunch I have a feeling we’ll all survive.
p.s. Don’t forget the Diet Coke. ;)
Spring Home Updates & Sale
Happy Friday! Sharing a couple of home updates from the week! I’ve been styling all the things for spring. Makes me so happy! Now we just need our sunshine back. It has been so cloudy and cold this week! I’m loving this pretty vase for spring (included in the Amazon sale!). I added my pink tulips and a bunny and now my spring coffee table is complete!
I’ve learned that I have to have a low arrangement on this table or Kenny can’t see the TV and off it goes each night when we watch our shows (drives me crazy!). This vase and tulips pass the height test. Barely! But they pass. His remote and computer charger are safely tucked away in the fabric boxes (drives him crazy when he can’t find them!). This coffee table decor not only looks pretty for spring, but also keeps our marriage in tact.
Mission accomplished. ;)
I have been sitting in front of this fireplace all week! I don’t think I would survive in a seriously cold climate because we hit low 60’s and I’m wearing layers and pulling out my laptop in front of the fire to work.
I need to finish my front porch this weekend but I did spruce up the dutch door on the side of our porch that opens into the mudroom! It was so dusty/dirty so I swept the porch and wiped this door clean and things instantly felt better.
My pretty white flowers are also part of Amazon’s spring sale! I have 12 in this pot for a full look. This is the medium sized pot in the set of 3 and it’s the perfect size for this corner.
Then I laid down this cute sage green accent rug (bought it back in December and I finally pulled it out!).
But my favorite part is this cute flower holder I hung on the door!
Black and white stripes for the win! Again. :) SO cute with white tulips inside right!? I bunched up a dish towel in the bottom to give the tulips a little height and love the way it looks. Colorful flowers would be pretty too!
Sharing a few more home favorites that are part of the Amazon sale! I pulled these eucalyptus stems out this week.. love them. I have them in my kitchen window in a different vase at the moment that I’ll share soon! I like the way they effortlessly lay off to the side of any vase you put them in.
My new hallway rugs are on sale! I put this same runner in my upstairs laundry room and love it there too.
Picking up a few more of these rechargeable lights for lamps throughout our home! Saying good-bye to annoying cords.
My go-to every day socks are also on sale!
This long time favorite bag storage organizer is also on sale! Never get tired of opening this drawer.
My backpack is on sale and thank goodness! I was long overdue for a new one. I have hauled this thing on all of our trips and stuffed it so full! It’s ready to retire. For $33 I’ll be toting a shiny new backpack around this spring. :)
Compression Packing Cubes, Slingback Heels
My favorite compression packing cubes are also on sale! Ignore the shoe.. only picture I could find with my packing cubes in it! (But shoes are also on sale.. ha.)
My travel make-up bag is also on sale and clearly I have travel on my mind! Ready for spring break around here. This make-up bag really is so good! When I click on the link it says “purchased 6 times” .. I have given it as a gift a lot!
My girls’ makeup organizer is on sale and it comes in other colors too! I also love the pink and “crystal amber” version. I gave this to my girls for Easter last year with a few favorite make-up products inside.
They loved it!
This is the organizer I was using for years and it’s also a great option. I’m just ready to not share with my husband (keeping the marriage in tact again.. ha). ;)
Happy Amazon shopping, happy spring decorating and most importantly.. happy Friday!
Pretty in Pink Easter Table
Sharing my Easter table this year! My girls will both be home for Easter so looking forward to a fun weekend with the family and a beautiful home cooked meal! Or take-out on a beautiful table. I’ll let you pick which one you think will be the case at our house. ;)
{ Dining Table (similar)}
I was feeling soft pinks this year and love how it turned out. I used my pink
I’m going to just leave my table set up through Easter because we can have dinner here a few times before and it’s pretty to walk by every day!{ Dining Table (similar)}
I ordered these eyelet plates last year from Anthro and this year I’m obsessed with their white bow plates! Anthro always has such cute plate options. I knew I wanted bunny ear napkin rings for Easter and found so many cute options I couldn’t decide so I ordered 3 to try! The first option is
Ok ONE more napkin ring option! I ordered these
I love this pretty scalloped cake stand and the bunny candle holders I shared earlier.
I was going to add some grass and eggs and bunnies but it’s so pretty on its own that I might just leave it as is for a while!
I took all of these pictures and then realized I forgot to set out the drinking glasses! Ha. I hope my guests aren’t thirsty. ;) At least I remembered the eggs and bunnies.
#priorities
Last year I used these same plates and chargers and napkins and my pretty acrylic vase full of tulips for a centerpiece. AND these are my pink glasses that I’m using again this year.
Just picture these glasses on my current Easter table and I’ll feel better. ;)
I hope this table gave you some ideas for spring and Easter dining this year!
Now I need all of you to give me some ideas for the meal. ;)
Sunday Edit
Happy Sunday! I hope you find some time to rest today! So many pretty dresses and fun spring finds in today’s round-up. I also found some cute affordable sandals and Easter decor. (Also my bracelet in the first collage is on sale!) I can’t believe Easter is right around the corner. How are we already over half way through March!? I feel like I just got my Christmas decor put away. Probably because I kind of did. Ha. ;)
Have a great start to your week!
Saturday 6
Happy Saturday from our trail! Everything is so beautiful right now from all the rain we got last week! I hope things are getting warmer for all of you too.. sunshine brings out the best in all of us. :) On to today’s Saturday 6!
1 – EASTER BASKET FOR FRIENDS/TEENS
This bunny basket is the cutest! I put together some fun little Easter baskets for my college girls and thought I would share what I’m giving them in case these ideas help with baskets you’re giving! I’m also thinking about giving a few of these bunny baskets to friends with some of these same products and a little chocolate. I tied a pink ribbon at the top and it makes a perfect gift for any loved one! (I linked the ribbon I used too along with some similar baskets in case this one sells out!)
These are the items inside – all products I personally love and beauty best sellers on Amazon! Plus some cute heart bookmarks and my favorite Amazon bracelets. You can’t go wrong with this line up. :)
2 – ORGANIZED BATHROOM DRAWERS
My bathroom drawers were next level bad and so overdue for a clean out! I usually clean and organize all bathrooms every January but I didn’t this year because my girls were home on break so long. I had so many new products piling up inside and finally just dumped everything on my bathroom floor so I could get things under control!
Organized Bathroom Drawers – SOURCES
Looking so much better!
When I’ve lived with clutter inside my drawers for a while I crave simplicity and LESS. I have a lot of products I’m rotating and trying in my bottom drawer, but my top every day drawers are holding just the essentials and it feels so good! I won’t bore you will all of my organized drawers.. AGAIN. Ha. You can see what they all look like in this post along with organizer sources!
Also sidenote.. I started taking some fish oil supplements with my daily vitamin since I eat zero fish and the pills are so big! I couldn’t find an organizer that held them well until I found this one. It comes in other colors too! A random good find.
I gave my powder bathroom drawers a quick clean out too! Kole uses this drawer in the morning on his way out the door. I also added all the toothbrushes we’ve collected from dentist visits. Perfect to have on hand for guests who stay over! I used the organizers I shared in this blog post. LOVE them because they don’t move! They have grips on the bottom. I’m very temped to switch my bathroom organizers over to these but I need longer sizes. (Kole likes this hair paste.. there’s a teen boy Easter basket idea for you!) ;)
3 – BATHROOM RE-FRESH
After I cleaned out my drawers I added some cute things for a little bathroom re-fresh! I had an organizer in the middle of my bathroom counter but Kenny kept using it too so I decided to try these little corner organizers for us so we can each have our own. I was mid organizing when I took this picture so I needed to add more, but it’s mostly to hold my favorites from Colleen Rothschild that I use daily. I’ve shared these items many times before and have been using them for years! My favorites are all linked HERE and for a short time you can get 20% off (on any products on her website) using the code ERIN20 at checkout! If you’re only going to try one thing try the Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream that is the first item I linked. It’s SO GOOD! Gets rid of dark circles and tired eyes. I love the complete eye cream too. And her Vitamin C! And the Sheer Renewal Cream (I put it on in the am before makeup). You’ve heard me talk about the hair mask for years (I love giving that as a gift too!).
Peek in my shower to see my beloved hair mask. Two of my friends gave me the Salt & Stone body wash and Rituals shower gel for my birthday. I’m loving them both! I’ve used Rituals before.. it smells amazing.
4 – SPRING COFFEE TABLE
I’m still working on my coffee table and while I don’t know if I’ll add tulips on this table I do know these will be in my home somewhere! They are such a good faux tulip option! What I love about these is that the tulip bulbs are different sizes giving them a more realistic look. I ordered them in white and loved them so much I also ordered some in pink and purple. I’ll show you how I’m using them soon!
New favorite coffee table book! All things LEMON.
I got these pretty fabric boxes and the woven tray for Christmas this year and still need to style the tray for spring!
I put together this pretty arrangement with some long time favorite branches. They are so beautiful! They require no styling and just effortlessly hang to the side. Spring perfection! Not an option keeping them on our coffee table since we wouldn’t be able to see the TV.. ha.
5 – PILLOW LOVE
For Christmas I also splurged on this pillow cover I had my eye on for over a year! I don’t like spending a lot on pillows because I enjoy switching them up often. Target is usually my go-to pillow spot, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this one. The pattern was just too perfect for spring!
Last week I was looking for some other home items on Amazon and look what I found!? It’s a total lookalike for a fraction of the price! I felt such a mix of happiness and annoyance that I spent so much and didn’t need to! I love this pattern so much that I bought the Amazon set for my front living room in a larger size.
You can see that the tone is a little more pink/red than the other pillow which actually works well with this fun pink I’m bringing in. I love them!
I need to switch these two bottom throws for spring colors but I just added this cream throw on top and wanted to share it as another fun option for this time of year!
6 – SPRING TOPS
I got some cute new things from Madewell for my birthday this year and this shirt is such a favorite! It’s relaxed and casual and green and striped. No surprise it came home with me. :) I ordered it in the ivory and black too! I sized down to a xxs.. Madewell sizes run big so I always size down one. Also my beloved favorite jeans are on sale! This light wash pair I wear more than any other pair of jeans I own which is saying a lot because I have an obsession with jeans and own more than I should. ;)

Same way I try to cut back on buying shirts that are green or have stripes.
