Happy Saturday! We’ve had a fun couple of days celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday! I can’t believe he’s 50! I’m just a couple of years behind him but still.. I’m married to such an old man now. ;)
His favorites! Mine would be Blow Pop suckers and Cadbury eggs but to each his own. :)
I put together a 50 things we love about Kenny poster for him and it was so fun chatting with all of his friends and family about things they love! There were so many kind and funny things people sent in that I made the poster 50+ and separately sent him my own list of 50 things I love about him because I was only left with room to add one sentence at the end. He got emotional reading it and loves it so much. It’s my favorite gift to give! I kept thinking of the line “you see George.. you’ve really had a wonderful life” while I was working on it. Maybe I’m just getting excited for Christmas.. ha! But really.. what a wonderful life to be surrounded by so many incredible people. We both feel so grateful!
He had a fun day at the office where they surprised him with a breakfast party (because he loves breakfast bowls!) and I’m so bummed I don’t have pictures or a video of it! Nobody filmed it which is just wild to me. Everyone in my world would have filmed a surprise party and my blog/IG friends and I would have had it filmed from 5 different angles. Attorneys? Not so much I guess. :)
We have been doing so many fun things to celebrate with different groups of friends and he told me last night after dinner it was the best birthday he has ever had. Mission accomplished! He does so much for everyone around him that it felt good to spoil him this year. I love him so much. Here’s to the next 50!
I told Kole I would make him anything he wanted to eat this weekend and he wants tacos. Nice! That I can do. :) I’m pulling out my Cauldron to officially kick off fall and can’t wait to eat tacos and watch football! I shared this last year.. a fun way to entertain or just make every day dinner more special.
Love this bowl too! Below is how I make our meat for tacos or taco salad.. it’s so easy and Kole’s favorite.
Brown 2 lbs ground beef (I used 3 tonight so we would have leftovers.. you can do as much or little as you want with this mix!). Drain it and then add:
1/3 – 2/3 cups of water (I eyeball this and just put enough in that the meat is moist but not too soupy)
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can red kidney beans
Kenny and I watched our first college football game tonight with this candle burning (also on sale!) and it felt like heaven! Nothing like the start of fall.. I love this time of year. I’ll have both of these tees on repeat for the next few months. So perfect for game days! I linked some other cute game day options too.. kind of obsessed with this line!
I have a new Colleen Rothschild skincare favorite and it’s seriously so good! I’m not a huge mask girl but my girls love face masks so I thought I’d try this Clarifying Detox Mask a few months ago.
It’s not the cutest when it’s on (ha) but it’s so easy to use! I usually put it on my neck too but just added a little to my face the night I took this pic. I leave it on 10-15 minutes while I’m picking up my bathroom or doing laundry and then rinse it off with warm water. My skin looks and feels incredible after! So smooth and clean and glowy. I’m going to use it a couple of times each week. You can get 20% off this mask or anything from CR using my favorites link and there is also a buy more save more Labor Day sale going on. Excited about this one!
Here are a few other fun coffee table books for fall! Below are some other great Labor Day sales too. I’m so excited for this weekend. It’s the first time in a long time that we don’t have a lot going on and I’m so ready to start working on my house! I have a few things I want to organize and spots I want to decorate for fall. My plan is to light my candle and get to work! Only stopping for snacks when football is going. And to make tacos for Kole. ;) I hope you enjoy your weekend too!
