Christmas Powder Bathroom (12 Days of Holiday Homes)

holiday-home-tour-2016-v1
Happy Monday friends!  I’m so excited to be wrapping up the 12 Days of Holiday Homes tour hosted by Jenny of Evolution of Style and Amy & Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane.  At the end of this post I’ve linked to everyone who was a part of the tour so once again I have Christmas decor inspiration galore for you all!  So fun peeking into other homes decked for the holidays, isn’t it?  :)

I’m posting fast and furious right now so if you missed my post over the weekend be sure to check it out!  I shared pics from my pajama party with friends (too much fun!) and a few of my latest fashion finds and gifts from Nordstrom.  Today I’m excited to share a few Christmas touches I’ve added to my powder bathroom!

First up.. my new rug!  You might remember this memory foam bath rug made it into my annual Favorite Things post full of gift ideas this year.  It’s THAT good.  Most comfortable bathroom rug I’ve owned and it washes so beautifully in my washing machine.  A necessity with 3 kids and a white rug in our most used bathroom in the house!  I usually have this rug with the navy border in this room (you can see what this bathroom looks like in the summer here) but I love the grey for the holidays.

Aside from a new rug, I kept the decor simple.  Just added a few fun Christmas touches.

I placed a fun silvery Christmas tree on my round glass tray along with a small vase that says “Believe” for that pop of red I love so much this time of year.

And a few chocolate peppermint kisses in a little dish because.. why not?  It’s Christmas. :)

I also switched out our soap with a fun Christmas tree soap dispenser and added a little faux poinsettia.

Along with a red hand towel because I HEART Santa.  And I do believe. :)

{Similar ladders here, here and here}

My wooden ladder in the corner of this room was also included in my Favorite Things of 2016 post because I love it so much.  It was just what this small space needed to feel more finished.

I just kept it simple with a couple of white towels.

I’ve had these two silver Christmas tree ornaments for years and thought they looked cute attached to the towels.  I just used a small pin at the top to hold them in place.

And that’s it!  Just a few simple changes and our powder bathroom is feeling all sorts of festive and is ready to welcome guests.

Bathrooms are great places to add some Christmas cheer to because it really doesn’t take much to make the whole room feel merry and bright. :)

Lynch Creek Farm is joining the fun on this tour and sent everyone their choice of a wreath or garland to include (yea!).  They have beautiful fresh wreaths and I selected this ‘Tis the Season’ wreath.
holiday-wreath-dutch-door
It’s beautiful, smells so good and has a fun little chalkboard I added a holiday greeting to.  It’s currently on the outside of my mudroom dutch door because the plaid ribbon works with my mudroom decor this year, although I’ve moved it around a few times.  I love it inside my house too!

I’ve been sharing one decorated room a day and I’ve included the links to each space below if you are new here or have missed anything!  Below is a tour of the rest of my house decorated for the holidays so far.  Just click the link below each picture for details on the whole room!

  1. Wow…such a lot of impact in a little room, Erin. Gosh, I love that little tree and the believe vase(I want one, because I believe, too). Well, I love all the details in this room. You’re so right, simple little additions, but they add oh so much. You have such a great eye for design. That wreath on your door looks fabulous, too. Lucky! :) Have to share this…my daughter needed a silly little gift for a gift exchange for one of her clubs this week. We stumbled upon a pair of socks at Target that have Christmas trees on them and the caption says…Let’s Get Lit! Seriously. They flew into her hands. Ha, ha! Perfect! Thanks for the tours of your lovely, festive rooms! Happy Monday to you! Hope it’s a good one!

    1. Oh those socks are PERFECT Jeanne! Ha! I’m going to have to head to Target and try to find some! My girls would love them too. As you know. :) xo

  2. Erin, your home is always so pretty, but my goodness the Christmas decor takes it to another level! Everything single touch is just perfect. Merry Christmas!

  3. Erin, as always, it’s just lovely! One of my favorite things about your home is how it’s always perfectly decorated, but never seems cluttered or overdone. Thanks for sharing your powder room and other rooms with us and for joining the tour again this year. Merry Christmas! XO, Christy

    1. What a thoughtful thing to say Christy! Thank you! Means a lot coming from you. :) I loved being a part of your tour again this year. Thank you for always thinking of me and enjoy the holidays with your sweet family! xo

  4. Such cute little touches to bring cheer to the bathroom. Love the little tree and the ornaments on the towels. What a neat idea. It sure feels like Christmas here, we got another snowstorm over the weekend that dumped another 8 inches on us. xxoo

  5. Just word of caution on the rug – if you have a large capacity/heavy duty washer and dryer, I’m sure it washes beautifully. Not so much with a “normal” washer and dryer. I was so excited to get this rug and I do love the look and feel of it, but when I tried to wash it, I’m lucky the washer didn’t break down. It’s so absorbent that it becomes very heavy with the wash water and the spin cycle can’t handle it. I tried wringing it out as best I could and putting it in the dryer and still nearly broke down the dryer! It then took over 2 days to air dry! Now i just try to sponge clean it, but I don’t think it’s going to look great for long. Very disappointed.

    1. Oh no Sherry! I’m so sorry to hear you had problems with yours! Mine has always washed so clean and easily, but I do have a newish machine so maybe that helps. I never dry my rugs though! I always lay them out to dry. I wonder if PB would return it for you if you explained the situation? So sorry! :( xo

      1. Thanks for your reply Erin, certainly not your fault! I do love the look and feel of the rug so have chosen to deal with it as long as I can keep it looking halfway decent. This was more as a heads up to other readers as something to keep in mind.

        1. I get it Sherry! I’m so glad you mentioned it! I’ll have to add that in a post if I mention the rug again. Such a bummer because I agree.. it’s a really pretty and comfortable rug! But white is hard to keep clean so if you can’t wash it regularly.. not worth it. I hope you are enjoying the holidays cutie! Thanks again for stopping by. :) xo

  6. Love the powder room touches, Erin!! You are so good my friend! And I love the wreath too…it’s perfect there! Merry Christmas dear friend!!

    1. Thank you so much Bree! I’m so excited to catch up with your blog today! I have a few minutes free in the afternoon and it’s the first place I’m heading. :) xo

  7. Your entire home is just exquisite Erin!!!! Love your powder room, kitchen and everything else! So honored to share this home tour with you! Cheers!

  8. Erin, everything looks so wonderful! The powder room, the front door, the family room…love it all!! Hope your family has a wonderful Christmas, and lots of blessings in 2017 :) :)

  9. What a beautiful job you did decorating your home for the holidays! How do you manage to find such cute things from all of these different places? I’ve been looking for a few decorations to add to my bathroom and I was wondering if you would please provide the links for the poinsettia with the burlap base and the soap dispenser?
Thank you very much and happy holidays!

    1. Hi Kimberly! Thank you so much! I just shop a lot.. ha! ;) The poinsettia was from Pottery Barn a few years ago and the soap dispenser was from Bed Bath and Beyond.. also a few years ago. I’m not sure if either store still has them but maybe something similar? Happy holidays cutie! xo

  10. Hi Erin,

I have a quick question. What is the length of the vanity in here? I am redoing a bathroom and am thinking one sink with more counter space instead of two sinks and was wondering the size of this one. I love it. What is the countertop material?
