Three years in our house

ig-formal-living

{Formal Living Room}

Today was our three year anniversary in our new house.  Exactly three years ago we moved in.  For those of you who have been with me for a while, can you believe it has been three years?  I can’t.  Time just flies, doesn’t it?  I was thinking today about what an adjustment those first few months were for us (especially for the kids).  I wrote a bit about it during our move here.  It’s strange to think about that now.  Three years has flown by, but in some ways it feels like we’ve lived in this house our whole lives.  It’s definitely home now.

Last year during October (to celebrate two years) I wrote several posts about building our house.  I thought I’d include links to them on the blog today in case any of you missed them the first time or are interested in them now.

Also just because I like celebrating special days.  In one way or another.  :)

Well!  That feels better.  I didn’t have a lot of time to post tonight, but at least I feel like I celebrated our 3 year house anniversary with all of you.

So who’s bringing the cake?

:)

  1. I just read your Bittersweet Goodbye post and I’m tearing up! I am in exactly the same place you were in 3 years ago. We are moving and I dread saying goodbye to my home that has so many memories. Sigh… I do have faith we will all adjust. Congrats on your anniversary! :)

    1. Oh Missi I feel for you! It’s hard to say good-bye to a home you’ve made so many memories in. One of those life changes that you don’t really think will be a big deal until you’re going through it. You will definitely adjust! It always just takes some time. Hang in there cutie! And best of luck to you with your move! xo

    1. I can’t either Marcia! It’s crazy how quickly time flies.. isn’t it!? Thank you so much for always reading and for your friendship and support! xo

  2. Wow, three years already? That is amazing! And you’ve done an amazing job helping your family make this house your home. So very happy for you all! Thank you for taking us along for the ride. And here’s to many, many, more years in your beautiful home!! Hugs! :)

    1. Thank you so much sweet Jeanne! Thank YOU for always being so encouraging and supportive and kind and thoughtful and hilarious! And for putting a big smile on my face every day. :) Hugs right back! xo

  3. You have a beautiful home Erin! I love your style. Do you remember where you bought the drum shade above your dining nook table? I’m looking for something just like that.

  4. I just love your home! My husband and I are in the design stage right now and I have used your home as a source of inspiration! I want to do a similar cathedral ceiling in my great room. Can you tell me how tall the peak of the ceiling is in yours? I am saving your home building posts for sure!

    1. Hi Stephanie! Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoy these house posts! I’m not sure about the height! Really tall. :) I’ll ask my husband tonight.. he might know. Then I’ll comment back here. :) xo

    1. Pamela you are always so kind and supportive! It means so much to me. Wish you were close by and we could grab lunch to celebrate today. :) Thank you sweet friend! xo

  5. I love your home so much !!
We custom built 5 years ago and I’m already itching to do it again.
I feel like house#1 was a learning curve.
So is there anything that you would change or do differently now that you have ‘ settled in ‘??

    1. There are a few things Heidi! But more than I could say in a comment.. maybe a fun post idea some time. :) I agree! First house is a huge learning curve! Such a crazy process. I had a love/hate relationship with the process. ;) Thanks cutie! xo

  6. It really doesn’t seem like three years Erin. We have been in our home for almost a year and a half and it still only feels like a few months. You really have made your house into a beautiful home. May you be blessed with many more happy years

  7. Happy Anniversary Erin! I love your home and always enjoy looking at your updates on decors or changes in various rooms. We are on our 4th year in our new home and it feels surreal that it’s been that long since our first build experience as a newlywed couple. Here’s to many more happy memories in your forever home!

  8. Wow time flies. I can’t believe its been three years since you moved in to your beautiful home. Its been so fun to follow your journey. Happy Anniversary!

On another note, I recently finished my memoir and would love to send you a copy and have you do a book review if you do that … If so, email me at becky.lpc@gmail.com.

Thank you. We’ll be in St. George this weekend so will think of you :).
