Picture Frame Spotlight

I was looking at my aqua picture frame today (getting ready to take it down) and I started thinking about what a simple, happy little addition it has been to our living room.

I originally created our frame to become part of our Christmas card display, but it has been used so many different ways over the months!

Much more fun than using it in its original state.  :)

Mostly we use it as a birthday spotlight.  My kids love being spotlighted on their birthday month.  Such a simple way to make them feel special.

{JANUARY} – El’s birthday spotlight

{MARCH} – Mom and Kole’s birthday spotlight

{MAY} – Ad’s birthday spotlight

{JUNE} – Father’s Day spotlight (things we love about dad)
{OCTOBER} – Past Halloween pictures

{NOVEMBER} – Thanksgiving artwork displayed
{DECEMBER} – Friends Christmas Card display

I also used it to frame our own past Christmas cards and other holiday artwork from the kids (I just forgot to take pictures each month!).

I’ve loved it because it was SO cheap and easy to make.
It added some interest and color to our living room.
It has been an easy way to display and rotate pictures and artwork each month.
And because it constantly put a smile on a few faces around here.

Looking forward to finding a happy home for it in the new house.

:)
xoxo, Erin

  1. I really like the pictures in Addison’s frame, with the white border. Where do you develop your pictures? I’m trying to find a place that develops nice quality pics but haven’t had much luck! Thanks, Erin!

Btw, your house is coming together beautifully! Can’t wait to see the final touches!

  2. Erin, I have always loved your turquoise frame also! I think the little ‘clothespins’ that hold the pictures are so cute! This is something that I want to do also!

So anxious to see more of your new home pictures soon!! This is such an exciting time for your family!

  3. I love this idea – creates such a fun, classy way of celebrating! I hope it finds a fun new home in your beautiful new home :)!

  4. Thanks so much everyone!

Allyson – The pics I used in the frame I just developed at my local photo store. When you order your prints there is a spot where you can choose if you want a white border on your pics or not. I think that option is available in most photo places (I know it is at Costco). I’ve heard Persnickety Prints has great quality!

  5. Love your idea for the photo display. Could you tell me what size frame it is? Would love to make something similar for my family. Thanks, Hillary
