A must read!

Hi everyone!  HAD to share this with you.  A blog post written by Jen Hatmaker titled “Worst End of School Year Mom Ever.”  Have any of you read this?  Oh my word.  It is HILARIOUS!  My mom stumbled on it today on-line and we were cracking up!  It completely describes how moms are feeling this time of year with end of year parties, projects, teacher gifts, etc. etc. and etc.  Her post went viral and she has received so much attention from it that they asked her to be on the Today Show.

Worst End of School Mom Ever

Jen on the Today Show

Read it!  If you are a mom to school age kids you will relate on so many levels!  My personal favorites are the “auditory reading” and her thoughts on the conversation with her husband (sounds like something straight out of my house), and the line “children should not be allowed to learn to read until they are already good at it.”  Seriously!  I’m laughing out loud right now just thinking about it!

Thanks Jen – for making us all smile in the midst of the torture that is the last few weeks of school.

And the first week of summer.
:)
xoxo, Erin

  1. Yes!! I saw her on the Today Show! So hilarious! The last couple of weeks of school (especially the elementary years) are busy, busy, busy. :) By the way, I shared your Pretzel Hug recipe on my blog the other day (with a link to your blog, of course) :) and I’ve introduced a new round of people to the delicious-ness of pretzel hugs. LOL! Have a great week!

  2. That post is FOR REAL – I totally relate to sending lunchables, worrying your kid is the only one not wearing a purple shirt and making a hand-made teacher card. Ha!

I am so glad it’s out and over!!

    This was hilarious!

  3. I read this about a week ago, just after checking my pre-K’s backpack and finding week old paperwork in her folder. Opps! It made me giggle though. Usually, I’m more on top of it than that.

  4. Keep all of the Australian mums in your thoughts. School ends in December here. Yep, Christmas + end of school all in one month.

At least we don’t have Thanks Giving to deal with beforehand.

    Hold strong ladies!

  5. Loved it……….and to think, we in the Southern Hemisphere get to enjoy all that is the end of school year just a week or sometimes 2 weeks before Christmas! The panic starts in around October!! Have a wonderful summer Erin, can’t wait to see you all in your new home :)Emma in Aus

  6. Oh my word Bethany and Emma! How do you do it!? I can’t imagine the craziness of school ending and Christmas at the same time! Pure madness. I’m officially done complaining.

Well. At least for a few minutes. ;)
