Weekend Recap

This weekend was great.  Productive and fun.  My favorite kind!

Saturday afternoon/evening we joined friends for a cookout on the beach.  Addison became a skilled hot dog roaster and a good time was had by all.  The next few pics I snapped while we were walking to our car…

These pictures don’t even come close to showing what a beautiful evening it was.  Probably because Kole was on my hip while I took them.  And we were walking.  And I didn’t even adjust my camera settings.  But still.  One of the prettiest San Diego sunsets I have ever seen.  Such a fun evening with good friends.

Cut my hair Saturday too!  It’s still long enough to curl but short enough to look better straight.  I came SO close to cutting it to my shoulders and then chickened out.  Maybe next time!
This weekend I harnessed my inner domestic goddess!  Not only did I make a fun salad to take to the beach party, but I also made banana bread muffins AND chicken enchiladas.

Same enchiladas from this post.  I’ll have to share the recipe sometime because they are GOOD.  But seriously, let’s just celebrate for a minute that I cooked twice in one day!  That’s more than I do most weeks!  The weather was cool.  Football was on.  My pumpkin spice candle was burning.  Everything felt and smelled so deliciously Fall.

And the best part is that I’ve trained my little sidekick to do the dishes.
I also did a little painting!  Primed and ready for color.

While I painted my girls created their own masterpieces.  Lots of other to-do’s were checked off the list   including a few areas I’ve wanted to organize for a while now.  Like I said, a great mix of productive and fun!

How was your weekend?
xoxo, Erin

  3. I came across your blog awhile ago and I love how you have used your project life kits. I’am hoping to do the same for my kids pictures as soon as they are back in stock. can’t wait I so many photos. I was wondering how do decide what photo go in the childrens ablums and what would go into a family album. I alot of photos of kids together not sure what album I put them in. Any tips you might have on how you have organizing yours would be great.

  4. Well my weekend was not as productive as yours, but still good. Woot, woot for you cooking twice in one day. This weekend definitely felt like Fall and I loved each minute. I can’t wait to see all of your little projects :) Um, and that sunset…GORGEOUS.

  5. Oh I can’t wait to see your finished painted products. You have been so Martha lately!!! Good girl. Fall does do that to us I think.

    I have a decorating question….
I want to change up my color scheme and go a little lighter but I have my leather sectional that is that red/brown color!! What to mix with that to lighten things up???

  6. Fun weekend. Productive AND fun is always the best!

    Pretty sunset pics.
    Cute new hair do.
And look at you, you’ve turned into a domestic diva!

  7. Ooooh, you cooked and painted??!! Good for you! Now, were the muffins from a mix or from scratch? If they’re from scratch them I’ll be REALLY impressed! If they’re not I’m willing to share my Mom’s Banana Bread recipe with you. :)
And the beach pics look gorgeous!

Ryan had his surgery on Friday, we were at the hospital at 5:30 am! Now I’m taking care of 3 kids and a helpless man. Definitely not a fun weekend around here!

  8. So this is totally off the wall, but I LOVE your kitchen canisters, do you mind if I ask where you got them? Of course I don’t live close, (Kentucky), but maybe could find them on a website? Thanks!!
