Summer Time!

Summer’s here! Lounging in my mom’s pool all last week was a great way to kick off the season. I love going to Utah. It always means help with my kiddos (both grandparents are nearby) and great hair days (no humidity). Now it’s back to reality. Housework, laundry, sleepless nights, end of the school year activities, and harder to control hair. I can’t complain – I’m happy to be back in San Diego. It’s always so nice to get away for awhile and then it always feels good to be back home.

Finally got my new summer header up. And after two years of blogging I also finally gave my blog a name. Sunny Side Up! Once Kole came into the picture our title felt a bit long. Plus I’ve always preferred the sunny side of life…and of the weather. Speaking of sunshine and summer, here are some of our favorite pics from last summer. Looking forward to making new memories this year (although I’m not too thrilled about getting into a swim suit anytime soon).

p.s. I was recently asked to be on the Power of Moms ‘best of the blogs’ list. The Power of Moms is a great website full of articles and other information that helps enrich the lives of mothers. It’s such a great resource to turn to and I feel honored to be included. You can check out their website here and their ‘best of the blogs’ list here.
Bring on Summer!!!
xoxo, Erin

  1. Good title, Erin! You are sooooo famous! If I had to choose a title from egg cooking…have to be scrambled. But you…you are sunny side up, no argument:)

  2. Loved them all! How I wish we could come visit you in sunny Cali! :o) It is sunny here in Kansas too, but without the amazing looking beach. :-/

How do you create an awesome header like that? I wish I could do more than one picture on mine. Your family is just beautiful, as if you are meant to be in a magazine.

Looks like you all had a lot of fun last summer, and I can’t wait to get mine started….I just have to lose another 9 lbs from my 3rd pregnancy and I’m feelin’ good. ;-) Be well!

    Love From Kansas!

  3. Yes, please tell how you do your header and side bars! I LOVE them!! Also just the yellow stripes down sides. (You know… because you have so much free time with a newborn and all!) Thanks!!

  4. Such a cute new blog design. I am jealous of you access to the beach!! My kids will be out for summer in about an hour and I have no idea what I am going to do with them all.

I want to know how you do your side bar titles too. I have done mine on picasa but it doesn’t work as well- I can’t get mine as big as your titles. You need to do a little tutorial for us inquiring minds!!

  5. I love your new blog! How do you make your headers and side bar? I think you should do a tutorial on how to make them :) I love them so much!

Also, I had written previously about your notebooks for your student teaching and teaching days. Could you show me pics or tell me how you organized them? I am trying to do the same thing right now!

Thanks so much! Glad you are feeling better :)

  6. Ok Erin, I’m so happy that you posted! But, as much as I love all your pics from last summer, I was hoping for some new pics of that little guy! No pressure though. ;) I am loving your new summer makeover to the blog and especially the pic of Kole in his little swim shorts. So I’ll be satisfied for now. I hope that you’ll even have time to read my comments, now that your a blogging celebrity and all. :) Love ya!

  7. Cute posts. You are such a great person and mom. You are probably so patient with your kids, I love it. I am still a little confused by the digital scrapbooking idea. I don’t know if my computer would crash from too much data! I guess I need a class from a pro like you.
