Halloween Fun

I thought it might be fun to post some of the Halloween things we’ve been up to lately. Last weekend was a special occasion in our house. The new “Barbie and the Three Musketeers” was released. Yes… that WAS the special occasion. We had a family movie night to watch it for the first time. Kenny and I are as into the Barbie movies as the girls (seriously) so a good time was had by all. :)

I made the girls this treat for the show. I threw in all of their favorite snacks…popcorn, pretzels, m&m’s and fishy crackers. Then added some candy corns in my jack-o-lantern dish to make it a “Halloween Treat.”

Too good to share.

We also made some Spooky Spiders out of suckers and pipe cleaners. I found the idea here. Next time I need to buy thicker pipe cleaners (our legs look a little spindly). The girls had fun gluing the eyes and bending the legs and of course, eating the suckers.

  1. Oh, Barbie & the Three Musketeers has been played AT LEAST 8 times in our house already. My 4yo LOVES it & has already added the Corinne Barbie doll to her Christmas List :) She has a little plastic sword that she dances around the house with shouting “all for one & one for all!” Precious :)

Love that movie night snack, will have to whip that one up next time!

  2. I am so stealing that sucker spider idea for sunbeams next week. Maybe it will shut the little hellians up!

And, I might have to make a batch of that delectable halloween goodness. It looks yummy!

PS- Can’t wait to talk to you tomorrow. We go at one!

  3. Totally stealing the sucker idea too. Eden will die! She’s obsessed with all things Halloween right now.

And of course we’ll have to check out the new Barbie movie.

I love that you and Kenny are into it too. Me, not so much. I will be cleaning or I will use it as entertainment for while we are out on a date.

  4. How cute to put all their favorite snacks in one big bowl! Clever idea.
I can’t wait to see my girls soon. Tell them grandma has a surprise for them!

  5. What a fun mom you are! My girls are dying to see that barbie movie. I’ll have to get it for this weekend. The snack looks yummy. I did those spider suckers for a kindergarten halloween party and the kids loved them! Have a great day!

  6. Are the sucker sticks like stingers cuz that’s what they kindof look like to me. So is Kenny’s interest in the Barbie movies linked to his namesake? just wondering. Do all of your ideas turn out looking so good…I want to see some bombs…I mean besides the rolls.:)

  7. Erin The Supermom, what a delicious looking treat you made. I am going to have to go get the new Barbie movies for Madi now. I have been meaning to tell you thanks for the tip on the Barbies movies. I bought Madi “Swan Lake” for a potty prize and she LOVES it! Pierson like it too. And you were right, they really are cute!
